| Pos | Role | Name |
| C | 1 | David Legwand ActiveDavid Legwand has racked up 16 points in his last 18 games. In his past eight outings, he has four goals and eight points. "David is competing really hard. He knows that he has to carry a lot of the load and is showing his ability," coach Barry Trotz said. "He's using his ability on a consistent basis shift-in and shift-out, and you talk about being a real good pro and producing and trying to make a difference. He has been trying to make a difference." He has also done a good job of taking advantage of shoot-first linemates Taylor Beck and Patric Hornqvist. Apr 11 |
| 2 | Mike Fisher ActiveMike Fisher scored a goal and recorded an assist in his return from a hand injury on Thursday. Fisher missed seven games as a result of the injury. He also had five hits and logged 18:53 minutes in Nashville's 5-2 loss to Detroit. Apr 26 |
| 3 | Paul Gaustad I.L.Paul Gaustad had successful shoulder stabilization surgery Monday. He will need four months of rehab which will take him into August, well ahead of the start of training camp. Apr 16 |
| 4 | Nick Spaling ActiveNick Spaling is scheduled to become a restricted free agent this summer. Spaling came with a $1.05 million annual cap hit in his expiring contract. He doesn't have much fantasy value, but he was one of Nashville's leaders in 2013 when it came to killing penalties. May 30 |
| 5 | Craig Smith ActiveNashville Predators coach Barry Trotz called out Craig Smith and Sergei Kostitsyn for their lack of production this season. "We expected production from Sergei and Craig Smith and we got none," Trotz said. "Both those guys, we were looking at them to be top-six, top-seven forwards and we got no production." Ouch. Smith finished with four goals and 12 points while Kostitsyn scored three goals and 15 points. Both were pretty big disappointments for a Predators team that finished tied for last in the NHL in scoring with 2.27 goals per game. Apr 29 |
| 6 | Filip Forsberg ActiveFilip Forsberg will return to Sweden and finish high school. Forsberg was recalled for the last game of the season and ended up playing five games this year for the Predators after being traded from Washington at the deadline. He has a very bright NHL future as he is an all-round player. Not a bad gig to play in the NHL and then have to return home to finish high school. He is worth picking up in all keeper pools next season. Apr 29 |
| LW | 1 | Sergei Kostitsyn ActiveSergei Kostitsyn suffered an MCL injury Saturday and will need two-four weeks to recover. It was the last game of the regular season and with the Predators on the outside looking in at the playoffs, it will only interfere with his off-season. Just an FYI as he had only three goals and 15 points in 46 games this season and should not have been in your lineup. Apr 29 |
| 2 | Colin Wilson I.L.Colin Wilson has one of his two arms out of a sling. Wilson had stabilization surgery on both of his shoulders within the span of a few weeks. Because of that, he will be initially focusing on his core and lower-body when he starts his offseason workout program next week. "It’s going well," Wilson said. "I’m rehabbing every single day and doing everything I can. I’m ahead of schedule right now." Jun 1 |
| 3 | Gabriel Bourque SidelinedGabriel Bourque's surgery to repair a torn meniscus went well and he will be out for two-four weeks. Unfortunately, the Predators were eliminated from playoff contention on Monday evening so Bourque's season is over. He had 11 goals in 34 games this season. Apr 16 |
| 4 | Brandon Yip SidelinedBrandon Yip could be allowed to test unrestricted free agency on July 5. He generated only three goals and eight points in 34 games this past campaign. Yip averaged just 12:02 of ice time and he missed the last eight games of the year due to a lower-body injury. Whether he stays or goes, Yip probably won't have any fantasy value next year. May 29 |
| 5 | Taylor Beck SidelinedTaylor Beck will miss Tuesday's contest with an upper body injury. Beck has three goals and seven points in 16 games this season. Consider him day-to-day, although obviously this is the final week of Nashville's campaign. Apr 22 |
| 6 | Kevin Henderson ActiveKevin Henderson was called up from the minors on Saturday April 27. Apr 28 |
| RW | 1 | Patric Hornqvist ActivePatric Hornqvist is upbeat about the Predators' future after signing a five-year, $21.25 million contract. Hornqvist would have been a restricted free agent this summer. "I think we have something really good here going," Hornqvist said. "I want to stay here. I like it here. Great place to live and a great place to play. The fans are great; it was a quick deal." Hornqvist, who was limited to 24 games this season, is one of the few offensive weapons the Predators have so locking him up was vital. May 1 |
| 2 | Richard Clune ActiveRichard Clune fought Colorado's Cody McLeod in Saturday's 1-0 overtime loss. Clune now has 84 penalty minutes in 34 games this season. He accumulate about two penalty minutes per game for the rest of the season and also chip in with the occasional point. Mar 30 |
| 3 | Chris Mueller ActiveNashville has called up Chris Mueller. He was sent down Wednesday after playing in Tuesday's win over Colorado. In seven NHL games this year, Mueller has two goals and three points. Apr 4 |
| 4 | Matt Halischuk SidelinedMatt Halischuk's contract will expire this summer. Halischuk can become a restricted free agent. He had five goals and 11 points in 36 games this season and will probably be looking for a raise after collecting a prorated $825,000 in 2013. May 30 |
| 5 | Daniel Bang ActiveThe Nashville Predators have sent Daniel Bang to the minors. Bang will presumably play for the Milwaukee Admirals in Game 1 of the first round on Friday. He has two assists in seven games with Nashville this season. Apr 26 |
| D | 1 | Shea Weber ActiveShea Weber wants to remain with the Nashville Predators and is committed to their rebuilding process. "For sure, definitely," Weber said Sunday. "I’m committed to everything here -- committed to the team and coaching staff and my teammates, and committed to being better for them and getting back to the postseason." Weber's been locked in to the process since Nashville matched a 14-year, $110 million offer sheet Weber signed with the Flyers last summer. There have been rumblings that Weber might want out after flirting with leaving already and while these words seem to dispute that notion, what one says in public can be entirely different to what is said in private. Time will tell if Weber is true to his words and if the Preds can afford to pay the defenseman the full freight on that massive deal. Apr 30 |
| 2 | Kevin Klein ActiveKevin Klein was back in the Predators lineup against Chicago Friday night. Klein had been for the last week with an upper body injury but seems fine now after logging 21:22 of ice time and registering an assist in the Preds' 5-4 overtime loss to the Hawks. Activate him if you normally would. Apr 20 |
| 3 | Roman Josi ActiveThe Nashville Predators have inked Roman Josi to a seven-year/$28 million contract. Josi was eligible to become a restricted free agent this summer. The Nashville Predators are definitely taking a risk here, but it's a calculated one. Josi has plenty of upside and could, along with Shea Weber, provide the Nashville Predators with a great one-two punch defensively in the same way that Nashville used to have with Weber and Ryan Suter. In fact, Josi could end up flirting with the 40-point mark next season. That said, this is a major commitment to make on a player that only has 100 games worth of NHL experience. If he develops into the defenseman that many think he could be, then his $4 million annual cap hit will look like a steal, but the 23-year-old still has a lot to prove. Jun 10 |
| 4 | Hal Gill ActiveHal Gill will play in his 1,100th career game Tuesday. Gill will be the 16th active player to hit the milestone. Congratulations to Gill on the achievement. Apr 23 |
| 5 | Jonathon Blum ActiveJonathon Blum is scheduled to become a restricted free agent this summer. Blum has a lot of offensive upside, but Predators coach Barry Trotz wasn't always happy with his the effort Blum put forward. With that in mind, there's a chance he'll get traded this summer, but it certainly wouldn't be a shock if he was on the Predators' opening game roster for 2013-14. May 30 |
| 6 | Victor Bartley ActiveVictor Bartley produced his first NHL point when he earned an assist on Nick Spaling's second-period goal Thursday night. The marker gave Nashville a 4-2 lead in what would become a 5-3 victory. Bartley didn't have a shot during his 19:05 of ice time against Calgary, but he did finish with a plus-3 rating. Mar 22 |
| 7 | T.J. Brennan ActiveThe Nashville Predators have acquired T.J. Brennan from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Bobby Butler. Brennan had three goals and 10 points in 29 games in 2013 with the Panthers and the Buffalo Sabres. He might have a bit of fantasy value if the Predators give him a chance as a top-six forward. Brennan is scheduled to become a restricted free agent this summer after completing a one-year, two-way deal that was worth $550,000 at the NHL level. Jun 14 |
| G | 1 | Pekka Rinne SidelinedPekka Rinne (hip surgery) said his recovery is "going really well," though it's tough to say when he'll be back on the ice. Tim Thomas and Niklas Backstrom have provided advice to Rinne as he recovers from a hip arthroscopy procedure. "They were super nice, sharing their experience and the way they came back and how they felt," Rinne said. "The one common thing is it’s a lot of work, and you have to treat it as the biggest thing. Every day I’m working to get better." He said pinpointing his return to the ice is tough right now. "It’s hard to set any timetables," Rinne said. "It’s just the nature of the injury and hopefully I can get back and keep progressing steadily, have no setbacks and eventually get back on the ice." He'll be reevaluated in July. Jun 12 |
| 2 | Chris Mason ActiveThe Nashville Predators will almost certainly be looking for a backup goaltender this summer. It looks like the Predators aren't going to re-sign Chris Mason, who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in July. "It didn’t work out the way we had scripted it when he signed," Predators GM David Poile said. "First of all, we scripted an 82-game schedule with lots of opportunities to play. Then we get into a 48-game schedule, Pekka gets all the games we thought would be designated to Chris, and we had nothing to show for it. We really put him in a bad position and he was unable to do his thing." Mason ended up with a 3.73 GAA and .873 save percentage in 11 games in 2013. Jun 17 |
