| C | 1 | Claude Giroux ActiveClaude Giroux underwent surgery on his wrists. Giroux had torn cartilage in his right wrist and bone spurs in his left wrist. It's expected to take him six weeks to recover, which means he'll be fine for the start of the regular season. He had 93 points in the regular season and another 17 points in 10 playoff contests. May 19 |
| 2 | Daniel Briere ActivePhiladelphia Flyers veteran Danny Briere is angry at himself and angry at his teammates because of their unproductive power plays in their series against the New Jersey Devils. "For the 10 to 12 guys that are on the power play, it's time to step up," said Briere, whose team trails the New Jersey Devils 2-1 in their second-round playoff series. "[We need to] wanna be out there instead. It's an honor to be out there, and right now, we take it for granted. . .The all-around effort on the power play was not good enough. It seems like we just think they're going to let us do whatever we want out there. . .
"Either we're not winning the battles or we're not getting in there to help someone out," he said. "They're shorthanded, and they're outnumbering us to the puck left and right. When I say that, I include myself, too." May 5 |
| 3 | Sean Couturier ActiveSean Couturier (leg) suited up in Game 4 on Sunday night, but he was limited to just 7:08 of ice time. He left Game 3 on Thursday with a leg injury and his lack of playing time suggests that the talented rookie wasn't feeling 100 percent healthy in his return. If Couturier cannot answer the bell for Tuesday's contest then Zac Rinaldo may dress in his place. May 7 |
| 4 | Maxime Talbot ActiveMaxime Talbot scored the lone Philadelphia goal in a 3-1 loss to New Jersey in Game Five of their second round playoff series Tuesday night. The goal was the fourth of the postseason for Talbot while Daniel Briere and Brayden Schenn drew assists on the marker. The team was clearly missing the services of Claude Giroux, who was serving a one-game suspension for his hit on Dainius Zubrus in Game Four. After scoring a seemingly unlimited number of goals in their opening round series with the Penguins, the goals dried up for Philadelphia in round two, which ultimately led to their downfall. May 8 |
| 5 | Zac Rinaldo ActiveZac Rinaldo is expected to make his series debut tonight against the Devils. With Claude Giroux suspended for Game 5, the Flyers need a forward to step in and fill out the lines. Coach Peter Laviolette is expected to turn to Rinaldo. The feisty rookie appeared in four games in the opening round against Pittsburgh and accumulated a playoff-leading 46 penalty minutes May 8 |
| 6 | Blair Betts I.L.Blair Betts (knee) was on the ice prior to the Flyers' practice on Monday. Betts has been on Philadelphia's long-term injured reserve list since mid-October. He's still hoping to play this season, but beyond that there's no specific timetable for his return. Jan 16 |
| LW | 1 | Scott Hartnell ActiveScott Hartnell produced his third goal of the playoffs in Sunday's loss to New Jersey. He concluded the contest with six shots, four hits, two penalty minutes and a minus-2 rating. Hartnell has eight points in 10 postseason games, but with the Flyers on the brink of elimination against the Devils he isn't pleased with the way things are going. "We're getting pushed off pucks way too easy and that leads us to more D-zone time," he said. "We've got tired D out there, and that's why (the Devils) are looking like they're dominating us. We're making soft, stupid plays." Philadelphia will head back home for Game 5 on Tuesday night where they will look to start a comeback from a 3-1 series deficit. May 7 |
| 2 | James van Riemsdyk ActiveJames van Riemsdyk is expected to undergo hip surgery next week. van Riemsdyk has a torn labrum. He should need six weeks to recover. He had a goal and an assist in seven postseason contests. May 19 |
| 3 | Matt Read ActiveMatt Read potted the only Philadelphia Flyers' goal in their 4-1 Game 2 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night. Read's marker was his third of the postseason, and it came at 2:53 of the first period. After that, the Flyers' offense went cold, getting thoroughly outplayed by the Ilya Kovalchuk-less Devils. Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds had the assists. Simmonds also had 12 penalty minutes and Maxime Talbot had 10. May 1 |
| 4 | Harry Zolnierczyk ActiveHarry Zolnierczyk suited up for Philadelphia for the first time since Feb. 5 in Saturday's match against Pittsburgh. The 24-year-old rookie picked up an assist and seven penalty minutes during his 7:52 of ice time. He dropped the gloves with Penguins forward Joe Vitale, as retribution for the latter's hit on Daniel Briere a week ago, just over two minutes into the match. Zolnierczyk was afforded the opportunity to play due to Claude Giroux's absence because of a cold. Apr 8 |
| 5 | Tom Sestito I.L.Tom Sestito (groin) was on the ice with the Flyers on Saturday. Sestito hasn't played since Feb. 16. Based on the initial six-to-eight week timetable, he should be considered day-to-day at this point. Apr 14 |
| 6 | Eric Wellwood ActiveEric Wellwood scored the only Philadelphia goal in the Flyers' 2-1 loss to Florida Tuesday. The Flyers outshot the Panthers by a 36-13 margin, but were unable to put any other pucks behind Florida netminder Scott Clemmensen. Mar 20 |
| 7 | Jody Shelley ActiveJody Shelley is projected to replace suspended winger Zac Rinaldo against Buffalo on Thursday night. He has skated in 21 games this season, while collecting 27 penalty minutes. Shelley hasn't dressed since Feb. 4 versus New Jersey. Feb 16 |
| RW | 1 | Jaromir Jagr ActiveIt is being speculated that Jaromir Jagr will test the waters as an unrestricted free agent. The veteran winger didn't outright say that he wanted to be back in a Philadelphia uniform after the team was eliminated from Stanley Cup contention, by New Jersey, in the second round. Jagr proved that he has still has something left to give by recording 19 goals and 54 points in 73 games, during his return to the NHL, and he can add plenty of leadership qualities as well. May 10 |
| 2 | Jakub Voracek ActiveA shoulder injury will prevent Jakub Voracek from playing for the Czech Republic in the World Championship. Voracek played in 78 regular season games and all 11 of the Flyers' playoff contests. He had two goals and 10 points in the postseason. He's scheduled to become a restricted free agent this summer. May 11 |
| 3 | Wayne Simmonds ActiveWayne Simmonds has a broken left index finger. Simmonds needed surgery as a result. He will be fine for the start of training camp. May 19 |
| 4 | Brayden Schenn ActiveBrayden Schenn netted a goal in Philadelphia's 4-3 overtime loss Thursday night. Schenn now has three goals and eight points in nine playoff games. His breakout postseason performance makes him a very appealing sleeper candidate for the 2012-13 campaign. May 4 |
| 5 | Ian Laperriere I.L.Ian Laperriere still has not been cleared to play hockey. Laperriere was the Bill Masterton Trophy winner in 2010-11, presented to the player who best exemplifies persverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey, despite not playing a single NHL game. He continues his recovery from an eye injury that may never allow him to play in the NHL again. "I go with the flow," Laperriere said. "I am just seeing where life is going to take me. I try everything, I tried TV last year. Hopefully, if my eye clears up, there’s hope in that regard. I go day by day and I feel better everyday, and it’s just blurry in my eye and hopefully that’s going to go away." Jul 16 |
| D | 1 | Kimmo Timonen ActiveKimmo Timonen is expected to undergo back surgery. The procedure will remove a disc fragment from Timonen's lower back. He should be fully recovered in eight-to-10 weeks. May 19 |
| 2 | Matt Carle ActiveMatt Carle underwent surgery to repair a torn stomach muscle. Carle is projected to take four-to-six weeks to recover. In other words, he should be fine well before the start of training camp. May 19 |
| 3 | Pavel Kubina ActivePavel Kubina would be interested in returning to Philadelphia next season if the organization decides it wants him back. "Hopefully I can play for a few more years," said the 35-year-old pending unrestricted free agent. "I love this game, that's why I came here. If the Flyers called me, I would answer. I think [GM] Paul Holmgren did a great job with this team. If you look at this team, you look at their age with 10 guys around 20-22 years, you realize how much potential and future they have. They're going to be in great shape for the next 5-to-10 years. They're just going to get better." His play has been on the decline for the past three seasons, but he could still serve as a veteran depth defender with some fantasy value. May 15 |
| 4 | Braydon Coburn ActiveCoach Peter Laviolette is quick to praise the contributions of Braydon Coburn. "Since I got here, Braydon Coburn has been a rock," Laviolette said. "I think there's a couple of our defensemen that fly under our radar a little bit, just because Chris Pronger was in the lineup and 'Prongs' is an All-Star defenseman. [Coburn is] an important part. He plays against other team's top players. He plays a lot of minutes. He's big. He's strong. He skates. He's really been a force." His play isn't flashy, but he has been an unsung hero for the Flyers during these playoffs and he played a solid game during the regular season as well. Coburn has contributed four assists, 22 hits, 13 blocks and a plus-2 rating during the postseason, while averaging 27:37 of ice time per contest. May 1 |
| 5 | Andrej Meszaros ActiveAndrej Meszaros will return to the lineup for tonight’s Game 5 against the Devils. It’s now or never for the Flyers as far as the 2012 postseason and Meszaros will attempt to give it a go for the first time since undergoing back surgery on March 21. The defenseman last played March 1. May 8 |

| 7 | Nicklas Grossmann ActiveDespite hobbling around on a bum knee, Nicklas Grossman will not need surgery. Reports out of Sweden suggested that he may have to go under the knife to repair a knee injury sustained during the latter part of the season. However, Flyer GM Paul Holmgren said that was not the case as rest and rehabilitation will apparently be sufficient. May 20 |
| 8 | Erik Gustafsson ActiveErik Gustafsson played a superb hockey game in his second career playoff appearance Sunday. He netted his first postseason goal and blocked a team-high seven shots in Philadelphia's 5-1 triumph over Pittsburgh. Gustafsson skated for 22:09 of ice time, while playing against star players Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, and he finished with a plus-3 rating. He stepped into the lineup when Nicklas Grossmann went down, with a suspected concussion, and has not looked out of place despite being a rookie. Apr 23 |
| 9 | Andreas Lilja ActiveAndreas Lilja was back from his upper-body injury on Tuesday night. He played nearly 14 minutes and concluded the Flyers' 2-1 loss to Florida with a minus-1 rating. Lilja missed Sunday's contest against Pittsburgh as a result of the injury. Mar 21 |
| 10 | Chris Pronger SidelinedChris Pronger is still suffering from concussion symptoms, but GM Paul Holmgren is holding onto the hope that the Philadelphia captain will be able to play next season. The Flyers GM admitted to being an optimist and that may be the case here, as Pronger hasn't played since Nov. 19 because of post-concussion syndrome and there hasn't appeared to be much progress in his recovery. Holmgren also said that out of respect for Pronger, the team won't take away his captaincy at this point even though Claude Giroux is believed to be the next in line for the job. May 10 |
| G | 1 | Ilya Bryzgalov ActiveFlyers GM Paul Holmgren took issue with Ilya Bryzgalov's recent comments about the media's negativity. Bryzgalov recently said, "What I lived through this season I wouldn't wish to an enemy." This isn't the first time this season that Bryzgalov has attracted attention for his dramatic and sometimes amusing remarks to the media. Holmgren might have had enough of it though, because he said in response, "His job is to stop pucks and help us win games. It's not Comedy Central." Bryzgalov served the first season of his nine-year/$51 million contract with Philadelphia. On the subject of whether or not Bryzgalov lived up to expectations in 2011-12, Holmgren said, "I'd probably say, no." May 11 |
| 2 | Sergei Bobrovsky ActiveSergei Bobrovsky gave up all four goals in a 4-2 loss to Pittsburgh Saturday. Bobrovsky faced only 23 shots in the loss. He did not have a good season for the Flyers as he was 14-10-2 with a 3.02 GAA and a .899 save percentage. He will play in the playoffs only if Ilya Bryzgalov is unable to go. Apr 7 |
| 3 | Michael Leighton ActiveGoaltender Michael Leighton cleared re-entry waivers. The Flyers recalled a host of players for their AHL affiliate in Adirondack. One of them was Leighton, who was required to clear re-entry waivers. Apr 17 |
