Ducks coach Randy Carlyle is likely to stay with the team for the 2018-19 campaign.
Although the Ducks were swept in the first round of the playoffs by the San Jose Sharks, it seems GM Bob Murray felt the season overall went well for them. "In all honesty, I thought they did way better than I thought they were going to do," Murray said. "To get to where we finished, (tied for) eighth in the League in points, I never thought that." Part of the reason the Ducks surpassed Murray's expectations is probably because they were lowered due to the significant injuries that Anaheim had to endure. Defensemen Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanen as well as forward Ryan Kesler all began the campaign on the sidelines. Later on, they missed Ryan Getzlaf, Ondrej Kase, and Cam Fowler for significant chunks of time. Despite that, they managed a 44-25-13 regular season record. Apr 22 - 3:57 PM
