The Anaheim Ducks' Game 1 loss to Edmonton on Wednesday was their first regulation defeat since March 10.
Anaheim enjoyed a 15-0-3 run, including its four-game sweep of Calgary in the first round. "In reality, we really couldn’t think we were going to win every game," said Ducks coach Randy Carlyle. "We’ve had so much success. ... Sometimes things aren’t going to go your way every night. Because it’s a playoff game and we battled back and we had a lead and we battled back from a 3-1 deficit to make it 3-3 in our building, those are the things you try to build on. We have to have more from our group, it’s as simple as that." Of course he's right and dropping Game 1 in the second round is a problem, but not a huge one. Anaheim can bounce back from that, but the pressure will be on the Ducks to do so in Game 2. Apr 27 - 10:36 AM
