Now that the Edmonton Oilers have traded Taylor Hall, perhaps they will retire No. 4 in honor of Kevin Lowe.
Lowe logged 1,037 career games with the Edmonton Oilers and won five Stanley Cup championships with the team. He's also a part of the Oilers' history in other ways as the first player they drafted as an NHL franchise and the first player to score a goal for the franchise. Part of the reason why Lowe's number isn't already retired is because he served as the Oilers' general manager and later the head of hockey operations. "As long as I was making the hockey decisions, we were never going to retire it," said Lowe. That's no longer a factor, so we'll see what happens next. Jul 5 - 5:09 AM
