It was his second two-point game of the season, with the previous one on March 9. Sharks general manager Doug Wilson released a statement on it, calling it "abundantly clear that this was a clean hockey hit." He also added an assist as he had his best offensive game of the season. King's goalie Jonathan Quick seemed to be screened on Stuart's goal. "I was just shooting the puck. Save it for the playoffs," Stuart said. "We've just got to keep doing the same things. If he doesn't see it, it's tough to save it. That's what we have to keep doing." The argument is that the puck hit Kings forward Jeff Carter before going into the stands, but the referees disagreed. That gave Los Angeles a 5-on-3 advantage, which they used to score two power-play goals late in the third period of their 4-3 victory. "You go back and look at it, it looks like it changed direction," Sharks coach Todd McLellan said. But he also added, "The one thing that I've learned, certainly through this playoffs, is it’s not going to do me any good to whine and moan and bitch about the referees. It’s not going to get us anywhere. We took some penalties, we needed to kill them, and we move on."
