Fredrik Modin has reportedly retired from hockey.
The story was originally reported by a Swedish newspaper. He spent the greater part of the past four seasons on the sidelines due to injuries and decided to call it a career. Modin appeared in 898 NHL games with Toronto, Tampa Bay, Columbus, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Calgary. He accumulated 232 goals and 230 assists over that span and lifted the Stanley Cup as a member of the Lightning in 2004. Thu, May 19, 2011 03:02:00 PM
