The Athletic's Jeff Schultz reports the Falcons have informed Julio Jones he will not receive a new contract this year.

Jones skipped OTAs and minicamp to show displeasure with his contract, which makes him the league's eighth-highest-paid receiver behind Sammy Watkins, Jarvis Landry, and Davante Adams, among others. The Falcons told Jones they had "not budgeted" for Jones to receive a raise, and are hopeful he will report to training camp on time. Jones would put himself at risk of daily fines by skipping practices. LT Jake Matthews, FS Ricardo Allen, and DT Grady Jarrett are all considered higher-priority extension candidates; Julio is signed through 2020. The Falcons open training camp on July 27.

Randall Cobb (foot) is no longer sporting a walking boot.

Cobb recently held a football camp and had no restrictions while working with kids. "I look great, I feel great," he told reporters. Cobb also indicated he'll be all systems go for the start of training camp. Locked in as the Packers' No. 2 wideout behind Davante Adams, Cobb is a value pick in the eighth round.

Randall Cobb (ankle) expects to be ready for training camp,

Cobb was in a walking boot in June. He may be limited early in camp but it shouldn't impact his Week 1 status. Cobb hasn't had more than four touchdowns in a season since 2015, but there's some rebound potential in a contract year.

ESPN Boston considers Malcolm Mitchell on the roster bubble.

Mitchell has been sidelined since last August with a lingering knee issue. He's questionable for training camp and needs to prove he can stay healthy to secure his spot. Kenny Britt and Phillip Dorsett are also in danger of getting cut.

Devin Smith went unclaimed on waivers.

This was fully expected. Smith has missed the last two years recovering from knee surgeries and was held out of the Jets' offseason program. His NFL career is in doubt.

The New York Post's Brian Costello "doesn't see" the Jets moving on from Jermaine Kearse this summer.

There was some speculation on this earlier in the offseason after the Jets signed Terrelle Pryor and got Quincy Enunwa back from a neck injury, but Kearse and Robby Anderson were a more-than-fine tandem for Josh McCown last season, with Kearse having a career year with a 65-810-5 line. Costello expects Anderson and Kearse to start on the outside with Enunwa in the slot. Pryor could force his way into the picture, but this is a pretty deep receiving corps.

Joe Flacco got together with his receivers and tight ends for outside workouts this summer for the first time since 2011.

This falls in line with reports that Flacco is "more motivated" this year after the Ravens used a first-round pick on Lamar Jackson, Flacco's eventual successor. Flacco has been about as mediocre a quarterback in football since winning the Super Bowl in 2012 and then tearing his ACL in 2015. He needed a fire lit under him, and the Jackson selection may have provided just that. The Ravens have also done more to upgrade his receiving corps this offseason.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports free agent DB Lardarius Webb "plans to continue playing."

Per RapSheet, Webb has "had a few offers and is weighing them." Turning 33 later this year, Webb hasn’t drawn a lick of know interest since the Ravens released him way back in March. He can no longer play outside as a cover corner.

Saints waived/failed physical RB Daniel Lasco.

Lasco missed much of last season with a bulging disc in his neck and still isn't healthy. The move clears a roster spot for newly-signed Shane Vereen.
Jul 18 - 1:44 PM

Saints signed RB Shane Vereen, formerly of the Giants.

This is our first blurb on Vereen since last Week 17, showing just how little interest he had as a free agent the previous four months. Now 29, Vereen didn't make much of an impact in his three years with the Giants after spending the first four in New England. A satellite back who offers very little as a runner, Vereen has 221 career catches for 1,865 yards and 11 scores. He's no lock to make the Saints' roster and is only insurance behind Alvin Kamara and company.

A Cowboys source told the Athletic's Calvin Watkins the Earl Thomas-to-Cowboys rumors are "a lot of media hype."

"Seattle not giving him away and we’re not overpaying," the source added. This has only gained steam due to Thomas' own voiced desire to play for Dallas back in his home state. The 29-year-old has threatened a holdout this summer if Seattle doesn't extend or trade him as he heads into his contract year. The Seahawks likely want at least a second-rounder and more for Thomas.

Former Jets, Bucs, Patriots, and Chiefs CB Darrelle Revis announced his retirement from the NFL after 11 seasons.

The former No. 14 overall pick in the 2007 draft, Revis was a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and four-time first-team All-Pro pick. Revis turned 33 last weekend and spent eight seasons with the Jets across two stints and spent one each with the Bucs, Patriots, and Chiefs, winning Super Bowl 49 with New England. Revis picked off 29 career passes, but quarterbacks were so afraid to throw at "Revis Island" during his initial six-year stint with the Jets. He's a lock for the Hall of Fame and will likely see his name in the Jets' Ring of Honor.

ESPN's Mike Reiss considers Jordan Matthews a "lock" to make the Patriots' initial 53-man roster.

Reiss has been hyping Matthews up a bit in recent months since he made a good first impression during spring workouts. He's a logical choice to fill in during Julian Edelman's four-game suspension alongside Chris Hogan. Kenny Britt could also enter the picture if he has a strong camp.

Ricky Seals-Jones was arrested and charged with assault, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespassing in Scottsdale, Arizona this past Saturday.

Seals-Jones was arrested after he attempted to use the restroom in the W Hotel in Scottsdale. He then tried to use the facilities at the sushi restaurant located in the hotel and was again denied due to the restrooms only "available to guests." An employee says RSJ "one-hand shoved" him in the shoulder as Seals-Jones attempted to walk past staff. It’s a relatively minor incident, but who knows if anything will come of it, which RSJ could then be subject to a very minor suspension.

CBS' Jason La Canfora reports contract-year DT Aaron Donald has "told some close to him" he expects a new deal before the beginning of training camp.

The Rams surprisingly took care of Brandin Cooks before their franchise player. Donald held out of the Rams' offseason program. Donald held out until one day before the opener last season. There's been no word on his thinking on that front for 2018.
