The Grizzlies have announced that Mike Conley (Achilles) will miss at least two more weeks.
Here's the full statement from the team: "Conley will undergo therapy and treatment to help promote healing and alleviate soreness in his left heel and Achilles following consultations with physicians. There is no timetable for his return at this time. Further updates will be provided in approximately two weeks." Mario Chalmers is expected to remain the starter while Conley is sidelined. Chalmers is averaging 11.0 points and 6.0 assists in 27.4 over Memphis' last two games. Tyreke Evans will continue to log heavy minutes off the bench as well. Nov 17 - 1:21 PM

Mario Chalmers started in place of Mike Conley (left Achilles) on Wednesday, notching eight points on 4-of-9 shooting, six assists and four rebounds.

He didn't have any defensive stats and went 0-of-4 from downtown -- in fact, he made just one field goal outside of the restricted area. Conley is day-to-day which limits Chalmers to streaming and DFS appeal, unless you need a cheap PG in a deep league.
Nov 15 - 11:29 PM

Mario Chalmers (knee) played 17 minutes vs. the Blazers on Tuesday with seven points, three rebounds, two assists and one triple.

He was probable with knee soreness, and he played a few less minutes than he normally does. The Grizzlies only have one more game this week and it's not until Saturday, so Chalmers is more of a deep-league handcuff for Mike Conley's owners. As for Conley, he scored 20 points with six assists, two steals and two triples in 31 minutes.
Nov 8 - 1:21 AM

Marc Gasol (ankle) is being listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Lakers.

The Grizzlies continue to list Gasol as questionable, but he's yet to miss a game thus far. However, with this being the second game of a back-to-back set against 4-5 Lakers' team, perhaps the Grizzlies will opt to take a cautious approach with their franchise big man. We'll have another update closer to tip-off, but if Gasol can't give it a go, Brandan Wright would be in line for an uptick in minutes while Mike Conley would run the show on offense. Stay tuned.
Nov 5 - 2:40 PM

Marc Gasol (sore left ankle) will be a game-time call for Monday's matchup with the Hornets.

Gasol will test his ankle during warmups, but he appears to be headed for a true game-time decision tonight making him a risky guy to invest in in daily leagues. If Gasol is forced to the sidelines tonight, Brandan Wright could be looking at 30 minutes as a starter, and Mike Conley would be tasked with the heavy lifting on offense. Stay tuned.
Oct 30 - 6:31 PM

Marc Gasol had 26 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals on Wednesday, making 9-of-15 shots including a 5-of-7 mark from downtown.

Mike Conley added 21 points, five rebounds, three assists and three 3-pointers, but the Grizzlies' stalwarts didn't get much help -- the result was their first loss of the season. Gasol and Conley are locked into extremely reliable, fantasy-friendly roles as the Grizzlies' twin pillars.
Oct 26 - 12:19 AM

James Ennis and Andrew Harrison will be in the starting lineup for Memphis on Wednesday.

Ennis played very well through the preseason, securing his spot in the starting five, so it looks like the starting small forward position is his to lose. Harrison is more of a fill-in starter with Wayne Selden (quad) and Ben McLemore (foot) banged up, and while both these guys see a minor uptick in value as starter, neither one should be expected to command much fantasy value. Joining them in the starting five will be Mike Conley, JaMychal Green and Marc Gasol.
Oct 17 - 2:34 PM

The Grizzlies reportedly view Marc Gasol as "untouchable" in trade talks.

Gasol made headlines in August when he hinted to a Spanish newspaper that if the Grizzlies didn't continue to improve that the two sides would have to "revisit things," but sources of Matt Moore of CBS Sports indicate that those comments didn't seriously strain the relationship between Gasol and Memphis. The Grizzlies seem committed to building around Mike Conley and Gasol, and with Gasol under contract for at least another two seasons, there's no need for Memphis to test the market.

Sep 6 - 1:00 PM

Andrew Harrison started in place of Mike Conley (eye) on Wednesday, scoring 12 points with three rebounds, three assists and one 3-pointer in a home loss vs. OKC.

Conley had a cut above his right eye that swelled up and coach David Fizdale said before the game, "That blow to the head was just too much." It's unclear whether Conley might miss more games, but if he does Harrison will be worth a look for streaming and DFS value.
Apr 5 - 11:12 PM

Wayne Selden will start Sunday vs. the Lakers with Vince Carter (rest) unavailable.

Through four starts this season, Selden has only managed to produce averages of 5.0 points, 1.8 boards, and 1.0 triple per contest while seeing around 15.9 minutes a game, so him starting isn't all that exciting. Mike Conley, Tony Allen, James Ennis and Brandan Wright will join him the starting five tonight.
Apr 2 - 2:28 PM

Jeff Teague played just 20 minutes on Wednesday, going 2-of-6 from the field for four points, five assists, one rebound and one turnover.

Mike Conley ran wild offensively to open the game and Teague seemed to shrink into himself after that onslaught -- he never found a rhythm offensively, and was outplayed by backup Aaron Brooks. As disappointing as this is for Teague's owners, he's still primed for a bounce-back effort vs. Cory Joseph and the Raptors on Friday.
Mar 30 - 12:32 AM

JaMychal Green (left shoulder soreness) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against Indiana.

Memphis will be without Green and Marc Gasol (foot) tonight, so the Grizzlies will roll out a new starting frontcourt of James Ennis and Brandan Wright. Zach Randolph will very likely see his minutes in the 30s tonight, despite coming off the bench, and Mike Conley will be working with a robust usage rate. The Grizzlies play again Friday vs. Dallas, and for now, we'll be considering Green questionable for that one.
Mar 29 - 7:50 PM

Marc Gasol (left foot strain) has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup with the Pacers.

This will mark Gasol's third straight game on the sidelines, and with just two games remaining on the schedule for Memphis this week, owners in head-to-head leagues without an IR-spot fighting to advance to the next round may need to seriously consider cutting the three-time All-Star. Zach Randolph should be looking at another start tonight, and Mike Conley will be tasked with the heavy lifting on offense.
Mar 29 - 12:31 PM

Marc Gasol (left foot strain) is questionable to play Wednesday vs. Indiana.

Gasol has spent the past two games on the sidelines with this foot issue, and if he's again forced to the sidelines tonight, Zach Randolph will likely earn another start with Mike Conley doing the heavy lifting on offense. After Wednesday, Memphis will only have two more games on the schedule this week, so owners in head-to-head leagues fighting to advance in the fantasy playoffs may need to seriously consider moving on from Gasol. Stay tuned.

Mar 29 - 11:47 AM

Zach Randolph will move into the starting five for Sunday's matchup with the Warriors, with Marc Gasol (left foot) unavailable.

Gasol wasn't even on the injury report today, so it's surprising to see him suddenly ruled out with this foot issue, but the positive takeaway here is that it's not Gasol's surgically repaired foot. Bigs like Randolph tend to get abused by the Dubs' small ball attack, so while he'll see some increased opportunity tonight, he's not necessarily a "must-start" option. Mike Conley figures to do the heavy lifting on offense sans Gasol, and JaMychal Green could be forced into heavy minutes.
Mar 26 - 6:41 PM

The Grizzlies suffered their second straight loss on Thursday, as Marc Gasol finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds and three assists in 39 minutes.

Gasol made one 3-pointer and blocked a shot, so it wasn't a total loss, but he shot just 6-of-15 from the field with six turnovers. Mike Conley was better with 22 points (7-of-18 FGs, 7-of-7 FTs), six assists, two rebounds, one 3-pointer and three turnovers, but the Grizzlies' twin pillars didn't have enough to earn a road win in San Antonio tonight.
Mar 23 - 11:38 PM

James Ennis will return to the bench for Monday's matchup with the Bucks.

Ennis got the start on Saturday but didn't do much of anything, and he'll be replaced in the starting five by Tony Allen for tonight's game. Memphis will go with a starting lineup of Mike Conley, Allen, Vince Carter, JaMychal Green and Marc Gasol for Monday's game, with Chandler Parsons (knee) on the sidelines.
Mar 13 - 6:48 PM

Marc Gasol returned from a night of rest and hit just 4-of-12 shots for 15 points, eight rebounds and a block in Monday's 89-74 win over the Spurs.

Gasol didn't hit a 3-pointer tonight for just the 17th time this season and looked a little rusty after getting Saturday off. He had 31 points and eight assists on Friday against the Thunder and will look to bounce back against the Suns on Wednesday night. Mike Conley was also quiet in this one with 12 points on 3-of-10 shooting, and the Grizzlies were lucky that Kawhi Leonard was sitting this one out with a sore quad.
Feb 7 - 12:46 AM

James Ennis and Zach Randolph will move into the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Raptors with both Chandler Parsons (knee) and JaMychal Green (knee) unavailable.

Joining Ennis and Randolph in the starting unit will be Mike Conley, Tony Allen and Marc Gasol. Ennis could be looking at more minutes than usual tonight with Memphis banged up, but minutes don't always translate to production for him. Through 17 starts, he owns averages of 9.1 points, 5.1 boards and not much else on 46.4 percent shooting.
Jan 25 - 7:45 PM

Tony Allen scored a season-high 22 points with four rebounds, three assists, one steal and three turnovers in 25 minutes against the Rockets during a 110-105 win.

He made his first eight attempts and finished 9-of-10 in another massive win for the Grizzlies. They were down 16 on the road in this game and now have five wins against the Warriors, Cavs and Rockets combined on the year. Mike Conley was effective as per usual with 17 points, six rebounds, nine assists, two steals, one block and two 3-pointers.
Jan 14 - 1:41 AM

Marc Gasol (left ankle) practiced on Monday and is being listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Lakers.

Head coach David Fizdale said that Gasol's ankle is still "very tender," and while him going through practice is certainly a positive development, it wouldn't be all that surprising to see Gasol hit the sidelines for the first game of a back-to-back set with a matchup against the 12-24 Lakers on Tuesday. Owners can expect to get another update following Tuesday morning's shootaround, but if Gasol is out, Zach Randolph and Mike Conley will be asked to step it up on offense.
