Russell Westbrook scored 12 points (4-of-18 FGs, 4-of-8 FTs) with 11 rebounds, 10 assists, one steal, and four turnovers in 36 minutes against the Jazz on Monday.
Westbrook had an ugly shooting night again on Monday, but still racked up his sixth triple-double of the season and third in a row. He's back to averaging a triple-double for the season once again. It might not always be pretty, but Russ is one of the best players in 8-cat leagues because of the sheer volume he puts up. Dec 10 - 10:59 PM

Dennis Schroder lit up for a season-high 32 points vs. the Warriors on Wednesday, making 12-of-19 shots with five 3-pointers in 28 bench minutes.

Schroder was fantastic on a night when Russell Westbrook struggled offensively (11 points on 5-of-15 FGs). He added four rebounds, four assists and one steal, and the efficiency was a welcome sight considering he came in shooting 39.9% from the field (lowest since his rookie season). As long as coach Billy Donovan is willing to play him alongside Westbrook, the sheer volume of Schroder's scoring, boards, assists and steals should outweigh his inefficiency.
Nov 22 - 1:21 AM

Dennis Schroder had 15 points on 6-of-15 shooting, seven assists, five rebounds, four steals and one 3-pointer in 36 minutes vs. the Suns on Saturday.

Russell Westbrook was out for personal reasons and we're considering him day-to-day. The key is that he went through shootaround and appears to be over the sprained ankle that cost him the previous five games. Schroder's splits as a reserve are worse in most respects, including scoring (-2.2 points), rebounds (-1.8), assists (-1.0), steals (-0.8) and blocks (-0.4). The free ride for fantasy owners is about to end.
Nov 18 - 12:04 AM

Dennis Schroder scored a season-high 28 points vs. the Cavs on Wednesday, making 11-of-19 shots and 6-of-8 free throws with seven rebounds.

Russell Westbrook (ankle) was out tonight which cleared the runway for Schroder -- it's much easier to get high-volume stats when you're not competing with Westbrook's 34.2% usage (second-highest in the NBA). He's been consistently scoring with enough supporting stats to hold value lately, though, so his elevated role tonight is just a bonus for owners.
Nov 7 - 9:42 PM

Dennis Schroder scored a season-high 22 points (9-of-16 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs) with three rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer in 24 minutes against the Pelicans on Monday.

Schroder scored 16 of his 22 points after Russell Westbrook left the game with what appeared to be a severe ankle sprain. Schroder's numbers have surprisingly been close to the same with Westbrook in the lineup as they were when he missed the team's first two games. Obviously, his opportunity increases tenfold when Russ is out, which it looks like he will be. Schroder is a good handcuff for Russ owners and is worth adding in most leagues right now. We'll know more about Westbrook's official status soon.
Nov 5 - 10:51 PM

Dennis Schroder played 32 minutes off the bench on Sunday and had 14 points, eight assists, four rebounds and one steal.

Russell Westbrook's return was the elephant in the room for Schroder's owners, but they shared the backcourt extensively and closed the game, so it's an arrangement coach Billy Donovan obviously trusts. As long as Schroder is earning 30+ minutes he should hit value, especially if his shots start falling -- he's a combined 14-of-50 through three games (28.0%).
Oct 21 - 9:59 PM

Raymond Felton fell out of OKC's rotation on Sunday.

Felton had 12 points, four boards and three assists in 18 minutes on Friday, but wasn't needed with Russell Westbrook back in action tonight. He's unlikely to earn minutes while Westy and Dennis Schroder are healthy.
Oct 21 - 9:52 PM

Dennis Schroder scored 30 points with 13 assists to help Germany clinch a spot in the 2019 World Cup on Sunday.

Schroder and teammate Maxi Kleber (Mavs) connected on a dramatic alley-oop to force OT -- you can watch the play via the link below. Both players look to be in fine form with NBA training camps on the horizon, and we'll be watching Schroder closely since his fantasy value hinges on his ability to play alongside Russell Westbrook.

Raymond Felton said he would "love" to re-sign with the Thunder.

Felton is unlikely to have a market that extends beyond teams willing to offer him the veteran's minimum, so if the Thunder want to have some continuity at the backup point guard position behind Russell Westbrook, re-signing Felton could make sense. No matter the outcome, Felton won't be a priority in free agency.
Apr 29 - 2:45 PM

Carmelo Anthony had 15 points, seven rebounds, three steals, two assists, two blocks and two 3-pointers in 37 minutes vs. the Jazz on Sunday.

Melo shot 5-of-13 from the field and 3-of-4 from the line, and more offense wasn't needed with Paul George (36 points) and Russell Westbrook (29 points) carrying the load. The takeaway for playoff fantasy leagues is that Melo filled up the defense stats -- he didn't have more than four combined steals and blocks in any game during the regular season.
Apr 15 - 9:15 PM

Carmelo Anthony (ankle) will not play vs. Memphis on Sunday.

Melo hurt himself during Tuesday's game and this is his second straight DNP. He didn't practice on Saturday, either, and there's no clear indication when he might return. With Russell Westbrook (ankle) also out of commission, Paul George should be extremely busy tonight.
Feb 11 - 6:05 PM

Carmelo Anthony believes OKC is "much more effective" with Russell Westbrook "playing his game."

In other words, Melo wants everyone to let Westbrook be Westbrook. "We know what he brings to the game," Anthony said. "We understand it, we accept it. And by that, he’s able to just play his game, relax, and do what he does best. We need that Russ out there, not the one that defers to us. Let us figure it out." The Thunder is 5-0 in their last five games, and Carmelo has shown some signs of figuring out the dynamic during that time, averaging 19.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.0 3-pointers on 35-of-76 (46.1%) shooting.
