Jeff Teague handed out 13 assists vs. the Kings on Wednesday, adding 12 points on 3-of-11 FGs and 6-of-7 FTs.
Teague has double-digit dimes in three of his past four games and six times all season -- five of which have come since the Jimmy Butler trade. He's in the midst of a slump with just 8.6 points on 32.5% shooting in December, but is hitting the mark elsewhere in that span with 9.4 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 triples, 0.8 blocks and 0.6 steals. He doesn't miss free throws, either, which is a significant bonus in category leagues. Dec 13 - 1:06 AM

Andrew Wiggins (quad) and Jeff Teague (ankle) will be in the starting lineup for Monday's matchup with the Nets.

That "quad" issue that forced Wiggins to the sidelines on Friday is looking mighty suspect, as Wiggins had previously logged heavy minutes in five straight games prior to missing that one. Jimmy Butler was traded the next day, so one has to wonder if Wiggins' name was brought up in potential deals. Either way, he'll return to the floor tonight and should see his regular minutes, so owners can feel free to get him active. The Wolves will go with a starting five featuring Teague, Derrick Rose, Wiggins, Taj Gibson and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Nov 12 - 7:16 PM

Tom Thibodeau said he was "optimistic" regarding Andrew Wiggins and Jeff Teague's chances of returning to the court for Monday's game vs. the Nets.

Wiggins missed Friday's game with a minor quad issue, but he was a full participant at shootaround, and it sounds like he'll be back out there tonight. Teague has missed the past six games, so if he does play, it'll be interesting to see what his minutes look like. Check back for official confirmation on their status closer to tip-off.
Nov 12 - 6:34 PM

Tyus Jones had four points, four assists, one rebound and one steal in 27 minutes vs. Portland on Sunday.

Yikes. That's not what owners expected for DFS purposes, or as a plug-and-play option in standard formats, but ugly lines were plentiful in this 30 -point blowout. Jones did a decent job defensively vs. Damian Lillard and he's made the case for more minutes, but is just a deep-league guy while Jeff Teague (knee) and Derrick Rose (ankle) are day-to-day.
Nov 4 - 11:25 PM

Derrick Rose (left ankle soreness) has been ruled out for Sunday's game.

Rose was upgraded to 'probable' earlier in the day but the Wolves will err on the side of caution. Jeff Teague is also out with an ankle issue, and Jimmy Butler is resting, so guys like Tyus Jones and Josh Okogie are going to be very busy tonight.
Nov 4 - 9:08 PM

Tyus Jones (right foot soreness) is questionable for Friday's game vs. Golden State.

The prominent role for Derrick Rose has sapped Jones' fantasy upside, and it's a situation that should only get worse with his foot ailing and D-Rose coming off a huge 50-point performance. We should know if Jones will be available after Friday's shootaround.
Nov 1 - 3:20 PM

Jeff Teague (bruised left knee) is questionable for Friday's game vs. Golden State.

We haven't heard specific results from Teague's planned MRI and presumably no news is good news -- the designation of a knee contusion suggests he's truly day-to-day. Derrick Rose dropped a career-high 50 points with Teague and Tyus Jones (foot) both out on Wednesday, and he'll have sky-high ownership in DFS if those two guards are out again vs. the Warriors.
Nov 1 - 3:19 PM

Derrick Rose erupted for a career-high 50 points during the Wolves' 128-125 win on Wednesday, making 19-of-31 FGs and 8-of-11 FTs with eight 3-pointers, six assists, four rebounds, two steals and one block in 41 minutes.

It's a great story and D-Rose was crying as he conducted a post-game interview, having played the hero role after a rocky few seasons. He's claimed a major role with the Wolves and his position in Tom Thibodeau's rotation might be the best possible scenario for his fantasy value. That said, Jeff Teague (left knee contusion) was out tonight, Tyus Jones was a late scratch with right foot soreness, and Jimmy Butler (personal) wasn't active, so the stage was set for Rose to claim tons of usage. Tom Thibodeau deployed Rose as his starting PG but there's no reason to think that will stick since Teague and Jones are both day-to-day.
Oct 31 - 11:01 PM

An MRI on Tyus Jones' sore right foot was negative.

Derrick Rose thrived as a starter tonight, but that was largely due to the absence of Jones and Jeff Teague (left knee contusion). It doesn't sound like Tyus will miss much time, so owners in deeper leagues should hold tight.
Oct 31 - 9:44 PM

Jimmy Butler (general soreness) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Jazz.

The Wolves aren't even playing in a back-to-back set, so it's curious to see Butler hit the sidelines for a tough matchup against Utah. Jeff Teague (knee) will also be out and Andrew Wiggins (quad) is questionable, so Karl-Anthony Towns could be huge tonight while Derrick Rose figures to see an uptick in usage. The Wolves take on the Warriors on Friday, and for now, we'll be considering Butler closer to probable for that one.
Oct 31 - 12:11 PM

Tyus Jones made just 2-of-7 shots on Wednesday for four points, one rebound and one assist in 16 minutes of action.

Jones was an afterthought in the rotation, with Derrick Rose (31 minutes) nearly doubling his playing time. Jeff Teague was fantastic tonight and coach Tom Thibodeau seems committed to using Jones as a pure backup-PG, so owners can only hope that a Jimmy Butler trade shakes things up. For now, Tyus is best watched from a distance in standard leagues.
Oct 18 - 1:01 AM

Tyus Jones came alive late in Wednesday's preseason loss vs. the Clippers, making 4-of-9 FGs and 4-of-4 FTs for 12 points, two rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes.

Derrick Rose started alongside Jeff Teague tonight, but it was nice to see Tyus gain some momentum late in the game -- now is the time with Jimmy Butler sitting out the preseason. He's worth a late-round flier due to the sheer uncertainty of Minnesota's rotations.
Oct 4 - 1:18 AM

Jimmy Butler has formally requested to be traded away from Minnesota.

Wow. Butler presented Minnesota management with a list of 1-3 teams that he'd be interested in signing a contract extension with, and one of those teams is assuredly the Lakers. The Wolves will likely want to get rid of Butler prior to camp, so things could move somewhat quickly here, as his value will decline throughout the year. With Butler set to leave Minnesota, Luol Deng could potentially open the year as a starter and both Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns should see a nice uptick in usage. Jeff Teague should also spend more time running the offense sans Jimmy. Butler will be an elite asset wherever he winds up, but he does have a history of having trouble staying on the court.
Sep 19 - 1:49 PM

Tyus Jones (right knee soreness) is questionable to play in Game 5 against the Rockets on Wednesday.

Jones sat out Monday's Game 4 loss, and it was Derrick Rose who was the primary beneficiary, logging 32 minutes off the bench. If he's again forced to the sidelines on Wednesday, it'll be Rose, Jeff Teague and Jamal Crawford divvying up his minutes. Check back for another update following tomorrow's shootaround.
Apr 24 - 6:07 PM

Derrick Rose came off the bench for 16 points in 24 minutes during Game 1 on Sunday, going 7-of-14 from the field with four assists, two rebounds and one 3-pointer.

Rose came in averaging 12.4 minutes in nine previous games with the Wolves, but coach Tom Thibodeau's faith was rewarded tonight. It helped that Jeff Teague was in early foul trouble and there was no way to foresee this scoring -- Rose hadn't scored more than 14 points in a game since Nov. 3, when he was playing with Cleveland. Even if Rose gets a similar workload on Wednesday, we're not expecting a repeat performance.
Apr 15 - 11:53 PM

Tyus Jones started Sunday's game and had 15 points, four assists, four steals, two 3-pointers and one turnover, making 6-of-13 shots in 33 minutes.

Jeff Teague (sore knee) was out of commission tonight, and even Derrick Rose (ankle) was at less than optimal health, which opened up the PG spot for Jones. Minnesota got trounced tonight but Jones continues to play well, with limited turnovers, when given the opportunity. He's an obvious streaming and DFS candidate if Teague misses more time.
Apr 1 - 9:55 PM

Tom Thibodeau said on Tuesday that Jimmy Butler (right knee) has been "moving along pretty well" in his rehab from meniscus surgery.

While Butler still isn't jumping, he has progressed to running on an anti-gravity treadmill, which is a small step in the right direction. He's currently about mid-way through Week-2 of his rough 4-6 week timetable, and if all goes well, he could potentially make it back to the court for Minnesota's home game against Memphis on March 26. Nemanja Bjelica will continue to hold down the fort in his absence, with Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Jeff Teague doing more on offense.
Mar 14 - 11:06 AM

Jimmy Butler (knee) is doubtful to play Wednesday vs. Portland.

It looks like Butler will be spending his third straight game on the sidelines tonight, which will result in Nemanja Bjelica earning another start with Andrew Wiggins, Jeff Teague and Karl-Anthony Towns being asked to step it up on the offensive end. Wednesday will be the first game of a back-to-back set, so with no practice time in between Wednesday and Thursday's games, it wouldn't be surprising to see Butler miss both of these.
Jan 24 - 12:55 PM

Tyus Jones is expected to come off the bench with Jeff Teague (knee) starting on Wednesday.

Jones' recent stint as a starter wasn't exactly a goldmine for fantasy purposes, and he takes a big hit with Teague back in action. Check back after the game to see how he fared.
Jan 10 - 7:27 PM

Tyus Jones hit 2-of-5 shots and missed both of his 3-point attempts to finish with six points, four rebounds, five assists and five steals in Tuesday's loss to the Bucks.

He was averaging 4.0 steals in his previous three starts, so the steals weren't a huge surprise. He didn't have it offensively tonight, but the overall numbers were very good, and Jones should be a hot pickup in all leagues with Jeff Teague expected to miss two-to-four weeks with a sprained MCL in his left knee. Go get him.
Thu, Dec 28, 2017 10:28:00 PM

Aaron Brooks (illness) is expected to be available on Thursday vs. Milwaukee.

Even with Jeff Teague (knee) out, Brooks isn't guaranteed to play. Look for Tyus Jones, Jamal Crawford, and even Jimmy Butler to spend time handling the rock.
