Jeff Teague (dislocated finger) is not being listed on the injury report for Wednesday's Game 5 in Houston.
Teague hurt his finger during Monday's Game 4 loss, but he was available to return, and there was never much doubt about his availability for tomorrow's game. We'll have official confirmation on his status closer to Wednesday's tip. Apr 24 - 6:10 PM

Tyus Jones (right knee soreness) is questionable to play in Game 5 against the Rockets on Wednesday.

Jones sat out Monday's Game 4 loss, and it was Derrick Rose who was the primary beneficiary, logging 32 minutes off the bench. If he's again forced to the sidelines on Wednesday, it'll be Rose, Jeff Teague and Jamal Crawford divvying up his minutes. Check back for another update following tomorrow's shootaround.
Apr 24 - 6:07 PM

Derrick Rose came off the bench for 16 points in 24 minutes during Game 1 on Sunday, going 7-of-14 from the field with four assists, two rebounds and one 3-pointer.

Rose came in averaging 12.4 minutes in nine previous games with the Wolves, but coach Tom Thibodeau's faith was rewarded tonight. It helped that Jeff Teague was in early foul trouble and there was no way to foresee this scoring -- Rose hadn't scored more than 14 points in a game since Nov. 3, when he was playing with Cleveland. Even if Rose gets a similar workload on Wednesday, we're not expecting a repeat performance.
Apr 15 - 11:53 PM

Tyus Jones started Sunday's game and had 15 points, four assists, four steals, two 3-pointers and one turnover, making 6-of-13 shots in 33 minutes.

Jeff Teague (sore knee) was out of commission tonight, and even Derrick Rose (ankle) was at less than optimal health, which opened up the PG spot for Jones. Minnesota got trounced tonight but Jones continues to play well, with limited turnovers, when given the opportunity. He's an obvious streaming and DFS candidate if Teague misses more time.
Apr 1 - 9:55 PM

Tom Thibodeau said on Tuesday that Jimmy Butler (right knee) has been "moving along pretty well" in his rehab from meniscus surgery.

While Butler still isn't jumping, he has progressed to running on an anti-gravity treadmill, which is a small step in the right direction. He's currently about mid-way through Week-2 of his rough 4-6 week timetable, and if all goes well, he could potentially make it back to the court for Minnesota's home game against Memphis on March 26. Nemanja Bjelica will continue to hold down the fort in his absence, with Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Jeff Teague doing more on offense.
Mar 14 - 11:06 AM

Jimmy Butler (knee) is doubtful to play Wednesday vs. Portland.

It looks like Butler will be spending his third straight game on the sidelines tonight, which will result in Nemanja Bjelica earning another start with Andrew Wiggins, Jeff Teague and Karl-Anthony Towns being asked to step it up on the offensive end. Wednesday will be the first game of a back-to-back set, so with no practice time in between Wednesday and Thursday's games, it wouldn't be surprising to see Butler miss both of these.
Jan 24 - 12:55 PM

Tyus Jones is expected to come off the bench with Jeff Teague (knee) starting on Wednesday.

Jones' recent stint as a starter wasn't exactly a goldmine for fantasy purposes, and he takes a big hit with Teague back in action. Check back after the game to see how he fared.
Jan 10 - 7:27 PM

Tyus Jones hit 2-of-5 shots and missed both of his 3-point attempts to finish with six points, four rebounds, five assists and five steals in Tuesday's loss to the Bucks.

He was averaging 4.0 steals in his previous three starts, so the steals weren't a huge surprise. He didn't have it offensively tonight, but the overall numbers were very good, and Jones should be a hot pickup in all leagues with Jeff Teague expected to miss two-to-four weeks with a sprained MCL in his left knee. Go get him.
Thu, Dec 28, 2017 10:28:00 PM

Aaron Brooks (illness) is expected to be available on Thursday vs. Milwaukee.

Even with Jeff Teague (knee) out, Brooks isn't guaranteed to play. Look for Tyus Jones, Jamal Crawford, and even Jimmy Butler to spend time handling the rock.
Thu, Dec 28, 2017 06:49:00 PM

Jamal Crawford is expected to get some additional minutes at point guard with Jeff Teague (knee) out indefinitely.

Crawford has been hot with double-digit scoring in five straight games and averages of 17.0 points and 1.8 3-pointers during that stretch, so a boost in playing time—even if it's limited—would be welcomed for anyone relying on his services. Without Teague available, Tyus Jones will move into the starting lineup while Aaron Brooks continues to watch from the bench.

Tyus Jones scored four points with four rebounds and one turnover in 15 minutes vs. the Nuggets on Thursday.

The big story from tonight's game besides Jimmy Butler's offensive explosion was an injury to Jeff Teague's knee. He left the game after 36 minutes of action and never returned, and he's expected to undergo an MRI on Thursday morning. It could be a serious injury, so Jones is worth a long look as a speculative pickup. In three previous starts for Teague, Jones averaged 12.3 points, 1.7 triples, 4.0 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 0.7 blocks and 4.0 steals with just one turnover in that span.
Thu, Dec 28, 2017 12:19:00 AM

Tyus Jones scored seven points with one 3-pointer, one assist and one steal in 14 minutes of action vs. the Suns on Saturday.

The third-year PG is an afterthought while Jeff Teague (12 points, seven boards, six assists) is healthy, but he should be firmly on fantasy owners' radar. In three starts while Teague was injured this season, Jones averaged 12.3 points, 1.7 triples, 4.0 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 0.7 blocks and a whopping 4.0 steals, all while committing one turnover in 120 minutes of play.
Sun, Dec 24, 2017 12:17:00 AM

Tyus Jones played a game-high 42 minutes on Wednesday, hitting 6-of-9 shots to finish with 16 points, two 3-pointers, six assists, four rebounds, four steals and just one turnover.

Jeff Teague (Achilles) was out again tonight and Jones has been a revelation over the past four games, averaging 11.3 points on 53.3% shooting, 1.8 threes, 4.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and an incredible 4.0 steals. He's also averaging 1.0 turnovers in that span, despite playing 38.5 minutes per game. Teague is day-to-day and this won't last forever, but anyone who grabbed Jones off the waiver wire should be patting themselves on the back.

Tyus Jones started in place of Jeff Teague (achilles) and hit 4-of-9 shots and two 3-pointers for 12 points, four rebounds, seven assists and a steal on Monday, playing 40 minutes without a turnover in a win loss to the Wizards.

Jones was nice tonight and if you used him in DFS, you probably did well. He easily outplayed Tim Frazier, who started at point guard in place of John Wall (knee), and looked good. Teague isn't expected to miss much time with his injury, but if he does sit more games, Jones looks like an interesting DFS punt when it happens.

Tyus Jones was excellent in his first career start on Sunday, swiping away a career-high seven steals on his way to nine points, one 3-pointer, four rebounds, seven assists and two blocks in 39 minutes.

Jones was phenomenal in all aspects of this game, but he particularly shined on the defensive end, which will obviously endure him to head coach Tom Thibodeau. He consistently made the right play and had a nice two-man game going with both Taj Gibson and Jimmy Butler, and as an added bonus for 9-cat owners, didn’t commit a single turnover. With the extent of Jeff Teague’s Achilles issue not clear at the moment, Jones is worth a speculative add if you’ve got someone to cut.
Sun, Nov 26, 2017 06:58:00 PM

Tyus Jones will move into the starting lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Suns, with Jeff Teague (Achilles) unavailable.

Jones looked great in 30 minutes off the bench on Friday night sans Teague, putting up eight points, six rebounds, six assists, four steals, two triples and three turnovers, so he'll be a popular DFS play today in his first career start. Jimmy Butler, Andrew Wiggins, Taj Gibson and Karl-Anthony Towns will join Jones in the starting five today, and Butler should see some increased playmaking opportunities with Teague watching from the sidelines.
Sun, Nov 26, 2017 03:23:00 PM

Tyus Jones was a bright spot for the Wolves on Friday with eight points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals in 33 minutes, making 3-of-6 shots in a loss to the visiting Heat.

Jones started the second half with Aaron Brooks struggling and Jeff Teague (sore Achilles) out of commission. Teague's injury came out of the blue a few days after a 22-point, 11-assist performance, so presumably he's just day-to-day. Most owners should leave Jones on the waiver wire unless that injury assessment changes, but he's a viable 'just-in-case' pickup in deep leagues.
Fri, Nov 24, 2017 11:25:00 PM

Tyus Jones played over Jeff Teague down the stretch of Wednesday's season opener vs. the Spurs.

Jones played 23 minutes compared to 26 for Teague, but coach Tom Thibodeau said he closed with Jones because the Wolves made a nice little run early in the fourth quarter with him running the point. He finished the game with just three points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal, and he's not a real threat to Teague unless this becomes a trend.

Pacers' president of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard is reportedly considering playing Lance Stephenson at point guard next season.

Pritchard has hinted on numerous occasions that he expects Stephenson to have an increased role with the Pacers next season, and with recent reports suggesting that Paul George could begin his 2017-18 campaign outside of Indiana, Stephenson could be forced into a much more substantial role with the Pacers. This report could also suggest that Pritchard is contemplating letting Jeff Teague walk as an unrestricted free agent this offseason. As for Born Ready's fantasy potential, him being utilized as a primary weapon on offense isn't necessarily a good thing, as we saw during his short stint with Charlotte.
