Jonas Jerebko plans to sign with the Golden State Warriors upon clearing waivers on Monday, according to Adrian Wojnarowski‏ of ESPN.
The Jazz waived Jerebko on Saturday. He was due $4.2 million from Utah. Any team that claims him on waivers would need to guarantee that amount. Assuming he slips through, which is the expected outcome, the Warriors will scoop Jerebko up and likely sign him for the veteran's minimum. He will see only limited minutes off the Warriors bench, so Jerebko will have a very limited impact in standard fantasy formats. Jul 7 - 1:37 PM

Georges Niang scored a game-high 20 points vs. the Knicks on Sunday, hitting 8-of-13 shots with two 3-pointers, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 28 minutes.

Niang has been terrific during Summer League and he was coming off a 16-point effort on Saturday. He's playing on a non-guaranteed deal and faces some headwinds -- the Jazz recently waived Jonas Jerebko, but they've guaranteed Ekpe Udoh's $3.4 million salary and already have Jae Crowder and Derrick Favors under contract. Even if he does get a guaranteed deal, it's hard to see Niang having fantasy relevance in Utah.
Jul 8 - 11:01 PM

Derrick Favors scored 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting Tuesday, to go with four boards, two assists, one block, four turnovers and a random 3-pointer over 28 minutes.

Favors has been "shooting" about 70% from the field over the past few weeks, which is actually semi-sustainable considering all he really does is dunk. He did a really nice job defensively against Blake Griffin, as did Jonas Jerebko, who finished with 16 points, eight boards, three triples, one assist, one block and one turnover. The 3-pointer from Favors was his 10th make of the season, so we wouldn’t anticipate much more of those.
Mar 13 - 11:39 PM

Derrick Favors (neck) will be available to play Wednesday vs. the Pacers.

Favors should be back out there following a one-game stint on the sidelines, which will push Jonas Jerebko back to the second unit, and Ekpe Udoh could fall out of the rotation entirely. Feel free to get Favors active.
Mar 7 - 1:05 PM
Ekpe Udoh - F/C - Jazz

Ekpe Udoh (personal) will not suit up for Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies.

Udoh isn't a large part of the rotation, so his absence won't have much of an impact in fantasy hoops. Perhaps Derrick Favors and Jonas Jerebko will pick up a few extra minutes tonight, but that's about it.
Feb 7 - 12:36 PM

Thabo Sefolosha is scheduled to undergo season-ending knee surgery on Wednesday.

We'll have a firm timetable once he goes under the knife, but he's done for the year regardless. It looks like Jonas Jerebko will be Utah's starting four-man until Rudy Gobert (knee) get back to the court, and Royce O'Neale could be looking at minutes in the 20s. Neither of those guys offers much fantasy value at all, though.

Thabo Sefolosha is expected to undergo season-ending knee surgery on his right MCL, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports.

Sefolosha suffered the injury during Friday's loss to the Hornets, and unfortunately, his season is over. Jonas Jerebko will likely be the Jazz's starting four-man until Rudy Gobert (knee) can get back to the court, and Sefolosha's absence should also open up some minutes for Joe Johnson. However, neither Johnson nor Jerebko offers enough upside to warrant a pick up in most 12-team leagues. Sefolosha's timetable is expected to be set at six months, so he should be cut everywhere.
Jan 13 - 4:54 PM

Rudy Gobert (knee) was re-evaluated on Saturday and it was determined that he'll need to spend another 7-10 days on the sidelines.

Gobert has recently begun going through light practices with non-contact work, so he is making progress. That said, until he's going through 5-on-5, full-contact work, we can assume he's not close. Derrick Favors will continue to hold down the five-spot in his absence, with Thabo Sefolosha and Jonas Jerebko moving in and out of the starting five based on the matchup.
Jan 13 - 2:48 PM

Thabo Sefolosha and Derrick Favors (ankle) will be in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Hornets.

With both these guys in the starting five, the corresponding move will likely be Jonas Jerebko and Ekpe Udoh returning to the bench, and both those guys will lose a lot of value with the demotion to the second unit. Sefolosha has played well as a starter this season with averages of 10.6 points, 8.0 boards, 1.2 assists and 3.0 steals per contest, so he could be someone to think about as a streamer in deep leagues.
Jan 12 - 6:06 PM

Derrick Favors (ankle) will play Friday vs. the Hornets.

Favors missed Wednesday's game with the minor right ankle sprain, but he's a full four days off, so he should be good to go without any restrictions tonight. With Favors back in the mix, Ekpe Udoh will lose most of his value with the return to the second unit, and Jonas Jerebko won't play as much.
Jan 12 - 5:33 PM

Joe Johnson (wrist) has been cleared to play vs. Boston on Friday.

Rodney Hood (ankle) returned to action on Wednesday and Alec Burks has been playing well lately, so Johnson's minutes are likely to come at the expense of Jonas Jerebko. Johnson hasn't played since Oct. 30, of course, so we're not expecting him to log heavy playing time in his first game back.

Thabo Sefolosha (concussion) will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's matchup with the Thunder.

Sefolosha reportedly passed the Jazz's concussion protocol testing, but he still needs to go through the leagues testing before an official determination is made on his playing status. We likely won't get another update until just prior to tip-off, but if he's out tonight, his minutes would likely be divvied up between Alec Burks, Joe Ingles and Jonas Jerebko, with Burks offering the most upside.
Tue, Dec 5, 2017 06:45:00 PM

Rudy Gobert said that he will play Tuesday vs. the Thunder.

Gobert was held to 21 minutes in his return from an 11-game absence on Monday night, so he should be good to go for the second half of this back-to-back set. With Gobert back in action, Jonas Jerebko shifted back to the second unit and Ekpe Udoh only managed to see eight minutes off the bench. As Gobert's minutes rise, Jerebko and Udoh's playing time will continue to trend in the opposite direction.
Tue, Dec 5, 2017 03:36:00 PM

Rudy Gobert (knee) is in the starting lineup on Monday vs. the Wizards.

Coach Quin Snyder said on Monday morning that Gobert will have minute restrictions, but he didn't give us a number. Season-long owners can throw him into their lineups, but DFS owners should look elsewhere until he's 100 percent. Derrick Favors will shift over to PF and could see some backup center minutes according to Snyder, so that would definitely help him sustain most of his value. Jonas Jerebko will head back to the bench and can be dropped in most leagues.

Ricky Rubio made 4-of-10 shots to finish Wednesday's home victory with 10 points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.

Rubio hit a 3-pointer tonight and for once his low playing time (24 minutes) can be contributed to a lopsided score, not simply coach Quin Snyder's rotations. Nobody on Utah's roster played more than 26 minutes tonight, so there's not a lot to glean from the results here -- Joe Ingles was solid with 12 points and five boards, Jonas Jerebko hit double-digits with 10 points in 22 minutes, and the Jazz picked up 51 points from their bench tonight.

Thabo Sefolosha (right knee soreness) will not play on Friday vs. the Nets.

The Jazz play again on Saturday vs. Orlando, so hopefully they are just resting him for that one. With Sefolosha out, Jonas Jerebko is looking at extended minutes and is worth a look if you need 3-pointers -- he's hit three triples in each of his last two games.
Fri, Nov 17, 2017 06:54:00 PM

Joe Johnson (tendon instability in his right wrist) will miss at least the next two weeks of action.

With Johnson out of commission for at least the next two weeks, Joe Ingles, Thabo Sefolosha and Donovan Mitchell should see an uptick in minutes, and Rodney Hood may be forced to spend some more time at the three. Mitchell could be someone to think about as a speculative add in deep leagues, while Sefolosha is more of a low-end steals specialist in deeper formats. Jonas Jerebko could also get into the rotation, but he's not someone to think about in most leagues. Johnson should be cut in leagues that don't offer an IR-spot.
