Jonas Jerebko finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot across 24 minutes in Friday's win at Boston.
Jerebko moved into the starting lineup to kick off the second half, as the Jazz lost Rudy Gobert (knee) and Derrick Favors (eye) to early injuries. Jerebko made the most of his opportunity, hitting 6-of-8 from the field while knocking down 2-of-3 from behind the 3-point line. He could be in line for a bump in minutes if Gobert and/or Favors are forced to miss game time going forward. Dec 16 - 12:59 AM

Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Joe Johnson (wrist) has been cleared to play vs. Boston on Friday.

Rodney Hood (ankle) returned to action on Wednesday and Alec Burks has been playing well lately, so Johnson's minutes are likely to come at the expense of Jonas Jerebko. Johnson hasn't played since Oct. 30, of course, so we're not expecting him to log heavy playing time in his first game back.
Dec 14 - 2:15 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (concussion) will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's matchup with the Thunder.

Sefolosha reportedly passed the Jazz's concussion protocol testing, but he still needs to go through the leagues testing before an official determination is made on his playing status. We likely won't get another update until just prior to tip-off, but if he's out tonight, his minutes would likely be divvied up between Alec Burks, Joe Ingles and Jonas Jerebko, with Burks offering the most upside.
Dec 5 - 6:45 PM

Rudy Gobert said that he will play Tuesday vs. the Thunder.

Gobert was held to 21 minutes in his return from an 11-game absence on Monday night, so he should be good to go for the second half of this back-to-back set. With Gobert back in action, Jonas Jerebko shifted back to the second unit and Ekpe Udoh only managed to see eight minutes off the bench. As Gobert's minutes rise, Jerebko and Udoh's playing time will continue to trend in the opposite direction.
Dec 5 - 3:36 PM

Rudy Gobert (knee) is in the starting lineup on Monday vs. the Wizards.

Coach Quin Snyder said on Monday morning that Gobert will have minute restrictions, but he didn't give us a number. Season-long owners can throw him into their lineups, but DFS owners should look elsewhere until he's 100 percent. Derrick Favors will shift over to PF and could see some backup center minutes according to Snyder, so that would definitely help him sustain most of his value. Jonas Jerebko will head back to the bench and can be dropped in most leagues.
Dec 4 - 7:28 PM

Ricky Rubio made 4-of-10 shots to finish Wednesday's home victory with 10 points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.

Rubio hit a 3-pointer tonight and for once his low playing time (24 minutes) can be contributed to a lopsided score, not simply coach Quin Snyder's rotations. Nobody on Utah's roster played more than 26 minutes tonight, so there's not a lot to glean from the results here -- Joe Ingles was solid with 12 points and five boards, Jonas Jerebko hit double-digits with 10 points in 22 minutes, and the Jazz picked up 51 points from their bench tonight.
Nov 23 - 12:41 AM

Thabo Sefolosha (right knee soreness) will not play on Friday vs. the Nets.

The Jazz play again on Saturday vs. Orlando, so hopefully they are just resting him for that one. With Sefolosha out, Jonas Jerebko is looking at extended minutes and is worth a look if you need 3-pointers -- he's hit three triples in each of his last two games.
Nov 17 - 6:54 PM
Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Joe Johnson (tendon instability in his right wrist) will miss at least the next two weeks of action.

With Johnson out of commission for at least the next two weeks, Joe Ingles, Thabo Sefolosha and Donovan Mitchell should see an uptick in minutes, and Rodney Hood may be forced to spend some more time at the three. Mitchell could be someone to think about as a speculative add in deep leagues, while Sefolosha is more of a low-end steals specialist in deeper formats. Jonas Jerebko could also get into the rotation, but he's not someone to think about in most leagues. Johnson should be cut in leagues that don't offer an IR-spot.
Oct 31 - 6:26 PM

Amir Johnson (right shoulder) will not suit up for Game 4 against the Cavs on Tuesday, according to sources of Michael Eaves of ESPN.

With Johnson set to spend Game 4 on the sidelines, we could see Kelly Olynyk move into the starting five, and there should be some more playing time available for Jonas Jerebko. For now, we'll be considering Johnson questionable for Game 5 on Thursday.
May 23 - 6:27 PM

Amir Johnson (sprained right AC joint in shoulder) did not practice on Monday and is being listed as questionable for Tuesday's Game 4 in Cleveland.

Johnson tweaked his shoulder during Game 3, and while he was able to initially play through it, it sounds like it swelled up a bit overnight. He's headed for an MRI, so we'll have a better idea on his status for Game 4 once those results are made public, but if he is forced to the sidelines that would open up some minutes for guys like Kelly Olynyk and Jonas Jerebko. Gerald Green could also return to the starting five if Johnson is indeed unavailable on Tuesday night. Stay tuned.
May 22 - 2:33 PM

Amir Johnson (illness) and James Young (illness) will be available to play Monday vs. the Nets.

With Johnson back in action, Kelly Olynyk will likely return to the bench and Jonas Jerebko's minutes will take a hit. Young is available, but there are no guarantees he'll actually get out there tonight. Johnson is averaging just 6.4 points and 4.6 rebounds this season, so he can't be considered a viable target in most settings.
Apr 10 - 5:52 PM

Amir Johnson (illness) was present during shootaround on Monday.

Johnson was forced to the sidelines on Saturday with the illness, but he appears to be on track to get back on the court tonight. We won't get official confirmation until we're closer to tip-off, but with Johnson likely to give it a go, we could see Kelly Olynyk return to the bench and there won't be as many minutes available for Jaylen Brown and Jonas Jerebko. Stay tuned.
Apr 10 - 5:12 PM

Terry Rozier picked up a DNP-CD on Wednesday vs. the Pacers.

Rozier is shooting just 27.3 percent from the field in March, so maybe coach Brad Stevens is trying to send him a message. "That's not easy from their standpoint, and I respect that," Stevens said of not playing Rozier or Jonas Jerebko on Wednesday. "And that's hard. But we're going to need all those guys and we're going to need them to be playing great." Avery Bradley played 39 minutes in the win and Marcus Smart is basically a sixth starter, so Rozier is only looking at a handful of minutes at best in the near future.

Mar 23 - 11:22 AM

Al Horford (elbow sprain) will not play Sunday vs. the Suns.

Head coach Brad Stevens said that while he doesn't believe that Horford's elbow issue will be a long-term thing, he's not sure when Horford will be able to get back on the court, so for now, we'll consider him questionable for Monday's game against the Clippers. With Horford out, Jonas Jerebko will move into the starting five, and Kelly Olynyk should see some more minutes with the second unit. Isaiah Thomas will be a one-man wrecking crew on offense tonight.
Mar 5 - 3:47 PM

Jaylen Brown and Jonas Jerebko will move into the starting lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Suns, with both Avery Bradley (hamstring) and Al Horford (elbow) unavailable.

Brown will be flirting with minutes in the high-20s tonight sans Bradley, so he could be someone to throw out there as a DFS punt play with what should be an uptempo matchup against Phoenix. Jerebko's numbers aren't very impressive as a starter, so he's not a great target today despite the increased opportunity. Daily Slant: Brown accumulates the majority of his fantasy points through points and rebounds. While Phoenix allows the 2nd-most points per game – and Boston has an implied total of 116.5 points today – they’re the 8th-best team in rebounding differential. Over his past 12 starts, he provided a 6X return or more as exactly as often as he was stuck under 3X (four times each). Although he’s in a good spot to score some baskets, it may not be enough to down a GPP, even with the savings.
Mar 5 - 3:40 PM

Avery Bradley (hamstring) and Al Horford (elbow) will not play Sunday vs. the Suns.

Bradley said that he's dealing with soreness in both of his hamstrings, but the plan all along was for him to sit out one game of this back-to-back set, and he fully expects to play Monday against the Clippers. With both Bradley and Horford unavailable today, Jaylen Brow and Jonas Jerebko will return to the starting five, and Isaiah Thomas is going to be extremely busy on offense. IT4 looks like a solid DFS option with a favorable and uptempo matchup against Phoenix.
Mar 5 - 3:37 PM

Amir Johnson returned to Boston's starting lineup on Wednesday and posted five points and two boards in 15 minutes of action.

Jonas Jerebko shifted to the bench tonight, and this situation will be in flux for the foreseeable future. "In an ideal world we're a little bit flexible on [the frontcourt rotation]," said coach Brad Stevens. As tonight's line clearly demonstrates, Johnson isn't a reliable option.

Feb 1 - 11:15 PM

Avery Bradley (Achilles) practiced on Tuesday and he's hopeful to return to action for Wednesday's game against the Raptors.

Head coach Brad Stevens wouldn't commit to Bradley being ready to return to the court, but he did say that if Bradley does get back for Wednesday's game he'll be dealing with a minutes limit. Bradley's return will send either Jaylen Brown or Jonas Jerebko back to the bench, and Marcus Smart's minutes will take a hit. Bradley said he's planning on getting in another workout later tonight, but owners can expect to get another update following Wednesday morning's shootaround.
Jan 31 - 2:34 PM

Al Horford (groin) will start Monday vs. the Pistons.

Horford will be returning from a two-game stint on the sidelines, and there's been no discussion of a minutes limit, so owners shouldn't hesitate to get him active for tonight's matchup with the Pistons. Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Jaylen Brown and Jonas Jerebko will join Horford in the starting five for tonight's game. Daily Slant: Despite Horford being active, Andre Drummond is the center to target in the BOS/DET game. Drummond has posted 20pts/17reb in each of the two games between these teams this season, and outside of one contest last year where he ran into early foul trouble, Drummond has dominated the Celtics over his short career. Boston ranks 20th in DvP against the center spot and with a starting front-court of Horford and Jonas Jerebko, the Celtics should continue to have trouble slowing Drummond.
Jan 30 - 6:12 PM

Jaylen Brown and Jonas Jerebko are starting again on Saturday vs. the Magic.

Al Horford (groin) did not travel and is day-to-day, while coach Brad Stevens wants to keep Marcus Smart's minutes under 30 off the bench. Brown had arguably his best game as a pro on Friday with a career-high 20 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two triples in 30 minutes, so he's worth a look in the short term in both season-long leagues and in DFS.
Jan 28 - 6:39 PM

Amir Johnson came off the bench on Wednesday and had six points in 10 minutes of action, making both of his shot attempts with five boards and one assist.

Brad Stevens was likely playing the matchup game here. Al Horford was able to spread the court more against Clint Capela as a center, while Jonas Jerebko was a better defensive option against Ryan Anderson. Johnson is only worth your attention if he's playing a steady 24-28 minutes per game, which hasn't been the case lately.
