Damian Lillard said it would be "an honor to be a lifetime Blazer."
"Not a lot of guys get to play for one organization for their entire career," Lillard said. He's from Oakland and this summer has involved a lot of Blazers-Warriors talk with C.J. McCollum's pod with Kevin Durant -- he's trying, Jennifer. As for Dame, he'll have a chance to lead the NBA in scoring this year after almost hitting 29 points per game after the break last year. He's locked in as top-eight pick in all leagues. Sep 6 - 7:44 PM

The Suns are reportedly not interested in George Hill.

Phoenix needs a starting caliber point guard after trading away Brandon Knight, but they have no interest in acquiring Hill and the $37 million that's owed to him over the next two years. The Suns have put out feelers on Damian Lillard, Kemba Walker and Terry Rozier, but there's been zero traction on that front thus far.

Blazers GM Neil Olshey expressed confidence that offseason signing Seth Curry will fit well in a backcourt anchored by Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum.

Sidelined for the entire 2017-18 season due to a stress fracture in his left tibia, Curry signed a two-year deal with the Blazers last month. With Curry back to full strength, Olshey believes the combo guard can get back to the form that saw him average 12.8 points per game during the 2016-17 campaign. "Seth had a great year two years ago, he’s 100 percent healthy, he’s a big-time shooter, he knows how to play," Olshey said. "[T]he key with that position is ... they have to be able to play with and behind [Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum] equally. And we think Seth can do that."

Shabazz Napier started at point guard on Thursday night and finished with eight points (on 2-of-9 shooting), four rebounds, two assists, one trey, one steal and one turnover in 29 minutes.

Napier was a very popular DFS play and streamer in daily leagues, but didn't quite deliver up to expectations in this one. After Thursday's loss, Damian Lillard (ankle) told ESPN that he is planning on returning to the Blazers lineup for Saturday's game vs. the Spurs. You may want to wait until it's confirmed by the team, but Napier should be dropped as soon as we're sure Lillard is coming back.
Apr 5 - 11:27 PM

Shabazz Napier started Wednesday's game but shot just 2-of-11 from the field for eight points, two assists, one rebound and one steal in 27 minutes of action.

Damian Lillard was out tonight due to the birth of his child, leaving the PG spot to Napier, but he burned owners who streamed him tonight. This should only be a one-game arrangement anyway, with Lillard expected back on Friday, so feel free to return Napier to the wire.
Mar 28 - 11:18 PM

Shabazz Napier (left big toe) is available on Tuesday vs. Houston.

He was originally considered questionable, but made it through warmups without any setbacks. Damian Lillard is still on baby watch, but he will be starting tonight which means Napier will have his usual role as the backup PG.
Mar 20 - 9:43 PM

Shabazz Napier rolled his right ankle in the second half on Wednesday, but he continued playing to finish with nine points, two boards, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 23 minutes.

Damian Lillard (strained right calf) was back in action tonight, which bumped Napier to the second unit and eroded his minutes. He was terrific filling in as the starting PG, though, and may have secured an 18-24 minute role from coach Terry Stotts. Napier is also a great handcuff for Lillard, even though Dame has been extremely durable throughout his career. Barring a pessimistic update about Napier's ankle, we'll leave him off the injury report.
Jan 11 - 12:38 AM

Shabazz Napier will come off the Blazers' bench on Wednesday.

No surprise here, as the Blazers welcome Damian Lillard (calf) back into the starting lineup. Dame is expected to be on a minute-limit, though, which could boost Napier's playing time in the short-term.
Jan 10 - 8:08 PM

Shabazz Napier racked up 15 points, seven assists, five rebounds, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer as a fill-in starter on Sunday, making 7-of-9 shots in 33 minutes of action.

Damian Lillard was ruled out before tip-off due to his strained right calf, although it doesn't sounds like he'll miss much time -- the training staff thought it was "smarter" if he took the night off vs. the short-handed Spurs. Napier is a terrific handcuff for Lillard in deeper leagues, and he's worth opportunistic streaming in most situations whenever Lillard is unavailable. In case you missed his impressive effort tonight, follow the link for a sample of his efforts at both ends of the court.
Jan 8 - 12:20 AM

Moe Harkless sprang to life in 24 minutes vs. the Spurs, making 7-of-10 FGs for 19 points with five rebounds, three 3-pointers, two blocks and one steal.

He added 2-of-2 free throws tonight, and this comes on the heels of a DNP-CD on Friday. The difference is that Damian Lillard (calf) was held out of tonight's game, which bumped Shabazz Napier to the starting PG spot and opened up the reserve rotation. It's no coincidence that Harkless' season-high of 22 points came on Dec. 23, in a game Lillard missed, and he's not worth owning in most leagues with such a tumultuous role.
Jan 8 - 12:18 AM

C.J. McCollum led the Blazers to a 124-120 overtime win in Chicago, scoring 32 points on 11-of-30 FGs and 5-of-6 FTs, with five 3-pointers, eight assists and six rebounds in 45 minutes.

McCollum scored Portland's final six points in OT, and his flurry late in regulation is the only reason they were in position to win on the road tonight. As if that weren't enough, C.J. even dished out some fantasy advice regarding teammate Damian Lillard after the game. He said he couldn't speak to how Lillard feels or whether he'll play on Tuesday, before adding, "But if I’m a fantasy owner, I’d start him."
Jan 1 - 11:52 PM

Shabazz Napier started vs. the Bulls on Monday, making 3-of-13 FGs and 4-of-4 FTs to finish with 11 points, six assists, five rebounds and one steal.

Napier added one 3-pointer without any turnovers in 41 minutes of action, helping Portland prevail on the road in Chicago. He burned bright in Damian Lillard's absence, but with Lillard due back on Tuesday his value will take a big hit overnight. Over the past five games, the 26-year-old PG has averaged 18.0 points, 1.8 triples, 5.0 assists, 4.6 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 0.4 blocks. He's an obvious handcuff in deep leagues.
Jan 1 - 11:50 PM

Shabazz Napier made another start for Damian Lillard (hamstring) on Thursday and hit 7-of-14 shots, 2-of-6 3-pointers and 7-of-9 free throws for a season-high 23 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals in 34 minutes of a 114-110 win over the Sixers.

It's tough to tell if Napier or Jusuf Nurkic was the bigger hero tonight, but Napier was awesome, scoring 22 of his 23 points in the second half and racking up 15 points in the fourth quarter. He was 0-for-5 for one point before the break, but has been rolling without Lillard in the lineup, scoring at least 14 points in five straight games. He's been really fun over his last five games, but Lillard could be ready for Saturday's game against the Hawks, and once he's back, Napier is going to take a hit, no matter how good he's looked recently.
Fri, Dec 29, 2017 01:52:00 AM

Shabazz Napier is listed as the Blazers starting point guard in place of Damian Lillard (hamstring strain) for Friday's game vs. Denver.

Napier started the last two games of the 2016-17 regular season for Portland and averaged 28.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 31.5 minutes over those two contests. While he almost certainly won't approach those numbers this weekend, he should be expected to log minutes in the upper-20s and will be a very popular DFS option on Friday night. C.J. McCollum and Evan Turner will also likely see an increase in their usage rate.
Fri, Dec 22, 2017 01:53:00 PM

Shabazz Napier played 27 minutes and hit 5-of-13 shots and a 3-pointer for 16 points, four boards, three assists, a steal and a block off the bench on Monday.

Napier is quietly averaging 11.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.6 3-pointers on 49 percent shooting over his last five games in 22 minutes. Napier is worth a look as a DFS punt right now, as well as a deep-league pickup. And if Damian Lillard were to miss Wednesday's game against the Sixers with an ankle injury, Napier could be a must-play in that one.
Mon, Nov 20, 2017 11:57:00 PM

C.J. McCollum went off for a season-high 36 points in a 98-97 loss to the Grizzlies on Tuesday.

Damian Lillard couldn't get anything going and had 12 points on 4-of-16 shooting, but McCollum kept the Blazers in this one. He finished 14-of-26 from the field and 4-of-5 from the line, adding two rebounds, one assist, three steals and four 3-pointers in 38 minutes. He's flirting with second-round value in standard 9-category leagues right now and his owners shouldn't expect anything less the rest of the way.
Wed, Nov 8, 2017 01:38:00 AM

Shabazz Napier (hamstring) did not play vs. Phoenix on Wednesday.

Napier's injury has spoiled his preseason, but he has the luxury of a guaranteed contract. Competing backup PGs Isaiah Briscoe and Archie Goodwin have failed to distinguish themselves, and none of these guys will have fantasy value unless iron-man Damian Lillard misses games.

Ed Davis - F/C - Nets

Ed Davis will slide into the starting lineup for Wednesday's exhibition against Phoenix, with Jusuf Nurkic (concussion) unavailable.

Joining Davis in the starting five for Wednesday's preseason game will be Damian Lillard, C.J. McCollum, Moe Harkless and Al-Farouq Aminu. Nurkic should be good to go by opening night, but Davis is still a candidate to start at the four-spot, although Caleb Swanigan has made a pretty strong case that he's deserving of the starter designation. Regardless of how Davis enters the game, it'll be tough for him to make much of an impact in fantasy hoops this season with the depth around him.
Wed, Oct 11, 2017 01:18:00 PM

Caleb Swanigan will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's preseason matchup with the Clippers.

Swanigan has been making a strong case to open the year as Portland's starting four-man with Noah Vonleh (shoulder) injured, and this will be his first time through the preseason actually running with the first unit. Joining Biggie in the starting five will be Damian Lillard, C.J. McCollum, Al-Farouq Aminu and Jusuf Nurkic. If Swanigan is able to establish himself as a starter, he'll be someone to consider towards the later rounds on draft day.
