Joel Embiid scored 17 points with nine rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in just 20 minutes during an easy 118-98 win over the Magic on Thursday.
Fantasy owners may not like the light playing time, but the 76ers have to love it in a back-to-back set. Coach Brett Brown has suggested rest will come for Embiid at some point, but the team sounds like they really want to move up to the three seed. The 76ers don't have a back-to-back set until Apr. 3, so The Process should be good until then. Mar 22 - 10:17 PM

Richaun Holmes had 11 points (4-of-7 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 28 minutes off Philly's bench on Wednesday.

Holmes made the most of his opportunity with Joel Embiid (ankle) out of commission. Most teams would love the luxury of Holmes as frontcourt depth, yet he had as many DNPs as minutes in his previous seven games. Embiid's injury is minor and there's no reason to touch Holmes during the All-Star break.
Feb 14 - 10:54 PM

Amir Johnson will start in place of Joel Embiid (ankle) on Wednesday.

Even as a fill-in starter, Johnson has had dubious results this year. With so many alternatives on a wild 12-game night, most owners should have better plays.
Feb 14 - 6:58 PM

Amir Johnson started for Joel Embiid (rest) on Monday and had five points, five rebounds and a block in 18 minutes.

Richaun Holmes added 13 points and six rebounds on 6-of-8 shooting in 23 minutes, and is the guy you'll want to use any time Embiid is sitting. However, Embiid is expected to play in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday for the first time in his career, so the chances of Holmes (or Johnson) doing much in those games are slim.
Jan 29 - 10:35 PM

Richaun Holmes came off the bench to hit 7-of-12 shots for 15 points, seven rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block before fouling out of Thursday's loss to the Raptors.

He played very well despite not getting the start, as the Sixers went with Amir Johnson against his former team, as Joel Embiid (back) watched in street clothes for the third straight game. Holmes, and not Johnson, is who you want to roll with any time Embiid is out, whether he's starting or coming off the bench. Holmes is averaging 11 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in his last three games with Embiid sidelined, making him a nice handcuff to the oft injured big man, as well as a DFS option when Embiid is out. Embiid is iffy for Saturday in a rematch with the Raptors, but should be back for Christmas Day's matchup with the Knicks.

Richaun Holmes had four points, six rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 26 minutes off the bench on Tuesday.

The low scoring tonight was disappointing but he still did enough to satisfy owners who streamed him in the absence of Joel Embiid (back tightness, rest). Holmes was coming off a strong game on Monday with 14 points, seven boards, three assists and a steal, and he's worth a long look whenever Embiid is unavailable.

Amir Johnson earned another start on Tuesday, posting seven points on 3-of-5 shooting with nine rebounds and one block in 18 minutes vs. the Kings.

Johnson hasn't done much with his opportunities as a starter this season, averaging 6.8 points, 3.4 boards, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals in those five games. Trevor Booker (ankle) returned tonight, too, so when Joel Embiid (rest, back) returns it will be harder for Amir to find minutes in Philly's crowded frontcourt.
Tue, Dec 19, 2017 11:40:00 PM

Amir Johnson was a surprise starter for Joel Embiid (back) on Sunday, scoring a season-high 16 points on 5-of-7 field goals and 5-of-5 free throws in 24 minutes.

The veteran big man added five rebounds, four assists, one steal and a 3-pointer, but the Sixers fell to the Pelicans in New Orleans, 131-124. We're assuming Embiid is day-to-day, and Philly has rapidly incorporated Trevor Booker into their frontcourt rotation, so there isn't much daylight for Amir going forward.

Richaun Holmes' took advantage of Joel Embiid's absence on Sunday, notching 12 points, nine rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal in 24 minutes off the bench.

Embiid was a late scratch tonight due to back tightness. Amir Johnson got the start at center, but he and Holmes split minutes right down the middle. Embiid is likely just day-to-day, however, which leaves Johnson and Holmes battling each other for backup minutes. It's a situation fantasy owners should avoid.

Richaun Holmes (illness) will play Monday vs. the Jazz.

Joel Embiid (left knee soreness) remains a game-time call, and if he's not able to give it a go, Holmes would likely be flirting with minutes in the mid-20s, making him a truly inticing DFS play. Jahlil Okafor could also get into the rotation sans Embiid, and Amir Johnson would draw the start, but Holmes is the guy you want to target in fantasy hoops.

Dario Saric will remain in the starting five for Monday's game against the Rockets, with J.J. Redick (back) unavailable.

Saric played well through 30 minutes as a starter on Saturday, posting 12 points, one board, three dimes, one steal and four triples, so feel free to get him active. Joining Saric in the starting five will be Jerryd Bayless, Ben Simmons, Robert Covington and Joel Embiid.

Richaun Holmes (left wrist fracture) underwent a scheduled reevaluation has been cleared to participate in practice with limitations.

The is a step in the right direction for Holmes, but the Sixers press release confirms he will miss at least the next three games and will be reevaluated next Thursday. If the Sixers are unable to trade Jahlil Okafor, their frontcourt will be extremely crowded once Holmes is ready to play. When Holmes is active, the Sixers will have four capable centers on their roster, with Holmes, Okafor and Amir Johnson backing up Joel Embiid.

Jerryd Bayless will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's season opener against Washington.

Joining Bayless in the starting five for tonight's game will be Ben Simmons, J.J. Redick, Robert Covington and Joel Embiid. Bayless will likely remain in the starting lineup until Markelle Fultz (shoulder) is fully up to speed, but it's tough to see him earning enough minutes to make a difference in most leagues.
Wed, Oct 18, 2017 11:28:00 AM

Jerryd Bayless will likely be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Wizards.

The 76ers will initially be bringing Markelle Fultz off the bench as he recovers from his shoulder issues, so it looks like Philly will be going with a starting five featuring Ben Simmons, Bayless, J.J. Redick, Robert Covington and Joel Embiid on opening night with Fultz and Dario Saric working with the second unit. Bayless probably won't be receiving many minutes as a starter, though, so he's not a great target in most settings.
Mon, Oct 16, 2017 03:01:00 PM

76ers coach Brett Brown said that Dario Saric could earn minutes at center in the wake of Richaun Holmes' left wrist fracture.

Holmes is out for at least three weeks, at which point he'll be re-evaluated. In his absence, Brown said that "[Jahlil Okafor] might reap some benefits of some open space ... we might even look at some Dario at [center]." Amir Johnson should also be in the mix for center minutes, although Brown noted that the frontcourt rotation hinges on the availability of Joel Embiid (knee).
Mon, Oct 9, 2017 12:55:00 AM

Brett Brown said he sees Robert Covington "starting and ending" games for the 76ers this season.

The 76ers will likely be rolling out a starting five of Markelle Fultz, J.J. Redick, Covington, Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid (knee) when the 2017-18 season begins, with Dario Saric being used in a sixth man type role. Covington should be able to score at a more efficient rate this season with the improved offense around him, and it sounds like he'll still be a significant part of the rotation, so he could turn out to be one of the better value picks towards the middle rounds on draft day.
