Clint Capela scored 16 points with 14 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal in 35 minutes against the Lakers on Thursday.
Despite the Rockets looking to find center depth this summer, Capela had no centers behind him in the fourth quarter with Nene ejected, Isaiah Hartenstein in the G League, Marquese Chriss dealing with an ankle issue, and Zhou Qi also on the sidelines. Capela's massive increase in playing time to 34 per game continues to be the main reason he's been such a stud in fantasy this season. Dec 13 - 11:03 PM

Marquese Chriss (ankle) will not play Wednesday against the Pelicans, as expected.

He was randomly upgraded to doubtful this morning, but he never had a real shot of getting out there. Clint Capela could be logging heavy minutes tonight with Nene (calf) also not expected to play.
Oct 17 - 6:29 PM

James Ennis will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's season opener against the Pelicans, and Carmelo Anthony will come off the bench.

Ennis will be joined by Chris Paul, James Harden, P.J. Tucker and Clint Capela, and that lineup should hold, unless they have serious issues. Melo has talked a lot about embracing the sixth man role, but it'll be interesting to see who's on the floor to close tonight. Ennis isn't a target in most settings, despite the starter tag.
Oct 17 - 6:22 PM

Marquese Chriss will start Thursday's exhibition in place of Clint Capela (sore foot).

Recent reports have suggested that Chriss is behind Isaiah Hartenstein for the backup center job, so perhaps coach Mike D'Antoni just wants to keep his second unit intact. Capela's absence is precautionary so this does nothing to improve Chriss' fantasy stock.
Oct 4 - 6:25 PM

Chris Paul, James Harden, Carmelo Anthony, James Ennis and Clint Capela will start in Tuesday's preseason game against the Grizzlies.

P.J. Tucker is out with a minor back issue, so Melo will draw the start, and it'll be interesting to see how he looks with the first-unit. Marquese Chriss could also get some extended run tonight with Nene (calf) unavailable.
Oct 2 - 6:46 PM

Ryan Anderson played only 10 minutes off the bench in Game 5, scoring five points with three rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer.

Anderson's role has been limited by design in this series -- he's coming back from an ankle injury, but coach Mike D'Antoni was also just playing the matchups. "Numbers point out probably [Anderson] is more effective when he's matched up with Clint [Capela] instead of at the five," D'Antoni said. "Right now, Nene is playing pretty well and we like the matchup with Nene on KAT." Anderson's role will be dictated by Houston's second-round opponent, either Utah or Oklahoma City, but either way he's unlikely to be worth DFS owners' attention.
Apr 26 - 12:54 AM

Trevor Ariza, Chris Paul, James Harden, Eric Gordon and Clint Capela will all be rested for Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Kings.

It's a matchup against the Kings and the Rockets are locked in as the No. 1 seed, so there's zero incentive for any of the main guys to risk getting injured tonight. Joe Johnson and Gerald Green should be busy on offense tonight with all the main guys out.
Apr 11 - 9:05 PM

Nene will replace Clint Capela (rest) in the starting lineup Tuesday vs. the Bulls

Nene has started three games this season and is averaging just 5.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 20.6 minutes over those three starts. Ryan Anderson will also see an uptick in minutes with Capela sidelined.
Mar 27 - 6:26 PM

Chris Paul (hamstring) and Nene will be in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Bulls.

CP3 will be returning from a three-game stint on the sidelines, but he could be very busy tonight with James Harden (rest) taking the night off. Nene will get the start with Clint Capela (rest) sitting, and he'll split minutes with Tarik Black at the five spot, but neither of those guys are very attractive in fantasy hoops. Paul owners shouldn't hesitate to get him active for a favorable matchup against the Bulls.
Mar 27 - 6:25 PM

Nene (rest) will not suit up for Wednesday's game in Milwaukee.

This will be Nene's standard rest day on the second night of a back-to-back, and with Ryan Anderson (hip) and Brandan Wright (knee) also unavailable, Clint Capela could be logging heavy minutes tonight. Nene will be back in action for Friday's game in Toronto.
Mar 7 - 6:37 PM

Tarik Black played three minutes off the bench on Wednesday, going scoreless with one rebound, one assist and one block.

Black logged 18 minutes without Clint Capela (illness) on Monday, but vanished tonight even without Brandon Wright (knee) and Ryan Anderson (hip). He's a non-factor while Capela is healthy.
Mar 1 - 1:49 AM

P.J. Tucker will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday game against the Heat, with Ryan Anderson (ankle) unavailable.

Joining Tucker in the starting five will be Chris Paul, James Harden, Luc Mbah a Moute and Clint Capela. Through four starts this season, Tucker has compiled averages of 5.3 points, 7.3 boards and 1.3 steals per game on 35.3% shooting, so he's really only a low-end streamer in deep leagues.
Feb 7 - 7:26 PM

Steven Adams had another ultra-efficient game on Sunday with 20 points on 10-of-11 shooting, 13 rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes.

Adams hauled in 10 offensive rebounds tonight, one shy of his career-high. He also attempted zero free throws, which is perfect for fantasy since he's 59.0% at the stripe this season and has been intentionally hacked on occasion. He's making field goals at a 63.5% clip this season, on 9.3 attempts per game, which ranks second behind Clint Capela for category-based fantasy purposes. Add it up and he's flirting with top-50 roto value.
Jan 28 - 9:43 PM

Nene (right knee contusion) won't travel with the Rockets for road games on Friday and Monday.

The earliest Nene could return is next Thursday's home game vs. the Wolves. Tarik Black (eye abrasion) will also miss at least one game, which should give guys like Clint Capela, P.J. Tucker and Ryan Anderson a bump in playing time.
Jan 10 - 11:08 PM

Nene (bruised right knee) will not return vs. the Magic on Wednesday.

The Rockets are blowing out the Magic so this could just be a precaution. He was already expected to sit the second half of this back-to-back set on Thursday, and the knee injury confirms he won't be active. Expect Tarik Black and Clint Capela to gain a handful of minutes in his absence.
Jan 3 - 8:59 PM

Nene returned from a rest day on Sunday with six points and two rebounds in six minutes off the bench.

Clint Capela (facial fracture) was back in the starting lineup, which inevitably makes Nene a dubious fantasy option. Tarik Black also supplanted Nene in the rotation after halftime, as the Rockets tried in vain to slow down Julius Randle, and there's simply no reason to trust Nene for fantasy purposes.
Jan 1 - 12:02 AM

Tarik Black had eight points, nine rebounds and two blocks in 16 minutes of action vs. L.A. on Sunday.

Black double-doubled in 28 minutes off the bench on Friday, but that was situational -- both Clint Capela (face) and Nene (rest) were out for that game. He lucked into solid minutes again tonight with Capela fouling out in a game that went to double-overtime, so we're not reading into this efficient line.
Sun, Dec 31, 2017 11:59:00 PM

James Harden (foot), Clint Capela (face) and Ryan Anderson (back) are all good to go for Sunday's game against the Lakers.

Harden has yet to miss a game this season, and a bruised foot certainly wasn't going to be something to keep the MVP front-runner on the sidelines. Feel free to get all these guys active for a favorable matchup against the Lakers.
Sun, Dec 31, 2017 05:22:00 PM

Tarik Black started the second half for the Rockets and played well on Friday, finishing with 10 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and a block in 28 minutes of a blowout loss to the Wizards.

Nene was out for a rest and Clint Capela was out with an orbital fracture, clearing the way for Black's big night. Capela is expected to play on Sunday against the Lakers, meaning we won't likely see this version of Black again for a while.
Fri, Dec 29, 2017 09:20:00 PM

P.J. Tucker played 25 minutes off the bench on Thursday, but hit just 1-of-2 shots for three points, nine rebounds, a steal and a block in a 99-98 loss to the Celtics.

The Rockets blew a 26-point lead and even with Luc Mbah a Moute (shoulder) and Clint Capela (eye) out, Tucker was nearly useless tonight. He's worth a look as long as the Rockets are so banged up, but as he proved tonight, he's far from reliable.
Thu, Dec 28, 2017 11:13:00 PM

Nene started the first half of Wednesday's game and picked up four points, six rebounds, one assist and one steal in 26 minutes of action.

Clint Capela was out with a bruised left heel tonight, so Houston began the game with Nene in the middle. He was replaced by P.J. Tucker after halftime, though, and regardless of the situation Houston isn't going to push him -- he's averaging just 14.5 minutes and has seven DNPs sprinkled throughout the season.
