Thomas Rawls rushed three times for eight yards in the Seahawks' Week 17 loss to the Cardinals, adding two receptions for 20 additional yards.
Passed up by both Mike Davis and J.D. McKissic down the stretch — and Chris Carson and sometimes even Eddie Lacy before that — Rawls' third NFL season went about as poorly as possible. Two years removed from his catastrophic leg injury, Rawls could still average just 2.70 yards per carry. The Seahawks trusted him with the ball only 67 times all year. Rawls had a promising rookie campaign but has not been the same since his late-2015 injury. The 2015 UDFA is headed to restricted free agency. Sun, Dec 31, 2017 09:58:00 PM

Eddie Lacy (groin) resumed practicing on Thursday, and is expected to return for Week 11.

For seemingly the 100th time this season, it returns the Seahawks' backfield to Square 1. Thomas Rawls showed very little during Lacy's shortened Week 9 and absent Week 10, so it's quite possible Lacy gets another shot at lead duties. More likely is that the duo is again in a near-even rotation on early downs. Neither player is a viable RB3 for Week 11.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll says Eddie Lacy and Thomas Rawls have "equal status" in the team's backfield.

"There's no reason to have any criteria for it right now because we like our guys, and really, equal status now is good for us," Carroll said. "We'll see how they do." The Seahawks are on bye for Week 6. Both backs received 10 touches in Sunday's win over the Rams, though Rawls out-snapped Lacy 32-19. We wouldn't expect anything in the way of clarity any time soon. Both backs will be on the RB3/4 borderline for Week 7 against the Giants.
