Mitchell Trubisky completed 21-of-35 passes for 297 yards and a touchdown in the Bears' Week 10 loss to the Packers.
The 297 yards were a season high. Trubisky wound up throwing far more than the Bears would have liked due to negative game flow. His highlight play was a 46-yard scoring connection with Josh Bellamy in the second half. Trubisky didn't get much help from his pass catchers otherwise, as they suffered through a seemingly countless string of drops. Trubisky will be a low-end two-quarterback-league play in Week 11 versus Detroit. Nov 12 - 4:14 PM

Speaking after Thursday's loss, Bears coach John Fox left the door open to a quarterback change.

"We need to make a lot of changes," Fox said. "We will evaluate everything." Fox is "evaluating everything" a few games too late. The Bears should have already made the switch from Mike Glennon to No. 2 overall pick Mitch Trubisky. Glennon has shown exactly nothing, committing eight turnovers in four starts. The Bears' offense has been completely unwatchable, even as the team beat Pittsburgh and almost upset Atlanta. The Bears invested a ton of draft capital in 23-year-old Trubisky. It's time to see what he's got.

According to the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs, Mike Glennon remains the "strong favorite" to start the Bears' Week 1 opener against the Falcons.

However, Biggs admits he "wouldn't rule out the possibility" that Trubisky is the one under center. Glennon was brutal in the preseason opener, throwing a pick-six and completing 2-of-8 passes total. Trubisky then came on and lit it up against the Broncos' backups with one of the best showings of the first week of the preseason. If it happens again, the pressure will continue to mount.

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said he is not looking for a "short-term fix" at quarterback.

"You want to make a commitment to somebody," Shanahan said. "In order to do that, you better make sure you’re on the same page with everyone else and you put the time in, you talk to people who’ve been with these guys." These comments would seem to shoot down reports of Matt Schaub and Brian Hoyer being options, but those guys will be nothing but bridge quarterbacks at best. The 49ers could commit to an early-round pick like UNC's Mitch Trubisky and still have him compete with a veteran in camp. With little chance of winning right now, that might even be the best option.
