Alex Smith completed 27-of-40 passes for 230 yards, and two interceptions in the Chiefs' 12-9, Week 11 overtime loss to the Giants.
Smith added five carries for 27 yards. Coming out of the bye with a favorable matchup, expectations were set high for Alex Smith and the Chiefs offense. Smith struggled mightily, missing multiple easy passes and throwing two interceptions. Strong winds certainly impacted a few of his throws which made it difficult for Smith to get in any kind of rhythm. Smith has been becoming a bit more boom-or-bust of late, but will be a QB1 against the Bills in Week 12. Nov 19 - 4:44 PM

Chiefs GM Brett Veach insisted Saturday that there is no quarterback controversy in Kansas City.

First-round pick Patrick Mahomes showed terrific skills in the preseason, but he remains a raw developmental player, and the Chiefs believe Alex Smith gives them their best chance to win. "There is no gray area," insisted Veach. "Alex is so far advanced from the mental side of things in regard to his ability to read coverages, to shift us out of plays and really play the chess game. He’s so far ahead of where Pat is. I don’t think it’s even close right now."
