Darren McFadden is inactive for Week 11 against the Eagles.
He's a healthy scratch. It's not a surprise after McFadden had just one carry last week. Alfred Morris will start, with Rod Smith playing in pass situations. Nov 19 - 7:11 PM

Alfred Morris is the Cowboys' likely Week 10 starter at running back with Ezekiel Elliott's six-game suspension back in place.

As was the case in Week 9 before Elliott's ban was once again delayed, Morris will get the first chance at establishing the "hot hand." Third-year UDFA Rod Smith is expected to be the second man up, followed by Darren McFadden. All three should get work, but Morris is definitely the best fantasy bet for Sunday against the Falcons. He can be treated as an RB2.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Alfred Morris will be the No. 1 running back while Ezekiel Elliott is suspended.

It makes sense considering Morris has been active ahead of Darren McFadden to this point in the season, but Jones did say both McFadden and Rod Smith will have roles. Morris is the best bet of the bunch, but McFadden is worth a speculative add in all leagues as well while Smith is worth a look in deep formats.

Ezekiel Elliott has been granted another temporary restraining order by the Southern District of New York, and will be allowed to play Week 7.

Zeke's restraining order, apparently issued by a "fill-in" judge, is for 14 days. He will have to make his case to Judge Katherine Fallia when she returns from vacation "before or by Oct. 30." She will decide on a "preliminary injunction." Unbelievable. So it appears Elliott will also be good for Week 8. His long-term prospects remain clear as mud, but fantasy owners have at least one more game to get their fantasy backfield in order. Darren McFadden and Alfred Morris won't be playable this week.
Oct 17 - 7:41 PM

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Darren McFadden will get "most" of the reps at running back in Sunday's finale.

Coach Jason Garrett has insisted he'll roll out Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Dez Bryant, but he's going to have a quick hook. Resting Elliott and trying to get McFadden in a groove before the postseason makes too much sense. Elliott is 178 yards away from the rookie rushing record, a number that would probably have to be 100 closer for the Cowboys to seriously consider letting Elliott pursue it.
