Miles Austin led Cowboys receivers with 66 snaps in Week 15, compared to 50 for Dez Bryant and 35 for Laurent Robinson.
Austin also ran 33 pass routes compared to Bryant's 30 and Robinson's 22. Austin has reclaimed the No. 1 receiver role, with Bryant second and Robinson clearly third. All three remain viable fantasy options for Week 16 versus the Eagles.

According to Pro Football Focus, Laurent Robinson played 27 snaps in Week 14 compared to 54 for Miles Austin and 53 for Dez Bryant.
Robinson ran 23 pass routes compared to 32 and 33 for Austin and Bryant. It's confirmation that the latter remain the top two receivers even if Robinson outproduced them against the Giants. Although Bryant saw just two passes in Week 14, he was targeted on 14-of-39 routes the previous game. All three Cowboys receivers are solid WR2 plays against the Bucs this week.

Tony Romo cites defensive pressure for his inability to find Dez Bryant and Miles Austin down the field of late.
"You have more time, you're able to take shots downfield," said Romo. "When you have less... that's part of it." Romo may have also developed a bad habit of getting rid of the ball too quickly because he was afraid to take a hit while playing through a painful rib injury.

Kevin Ogletree is expected to handle the majority of punt returns in Sunday's game against the Rams.
The Cowboys want to use Dez Bryant selectively on punt returns in an effort to keep him fresh. It's welcome news to owners that have seen Bryant's production fall off precipitously in the second half of games this season.

Miles Austin (hamstring) returned to Cowboys practice Monday.
The Cowboys are out of their bye and in preparations for next week's game against the Patriots. And just as he promised, Austin is practicing with his teammates. He's on track to be a WR1 play versus New England's league-worst pass defense. Note that Dez Bryant (quad) was also participating in the light workout.

Miles Austin (hamstring) was one of 10 Cowboys players held out of Tuesday's bye-week practice.
Austin assured over the weekend that he would be in the lineup if the Cowboys played this week. There's no sense in pushing him Tuesday with the next game two weeks away. Dez Bryant (quad) was not one of the players sitting out Tuesday.

Felix Jones (shoulder) and Dez Bryant (quad) both returned to Cowboys practice on Friday.
Tony Romo is missing from the beginning of practice, but is still tentatively expected to give it a go Monday night. Both Jones and Bryant should get in two practices this week, putting them on track to start. Rotoworld matchups guru Evan Silva recommends sitting Jones in Week 3 with the possibility of a timeshare as well as in-game aggravation.

Matt Mosley of Fox Sports Southwest confirms that Miles Austin (hamstring) will not play Monday against the Redskins.
The Cowboys have yet to officially rule Austin out for Monday night's game, but his hamstring aggravation is considered a multi-week injury. Mosley's source says Friday and Saturday "will tell the story" on Dez Bryant's chances of starting Monday night.

ESPN's Ed Werder and Todd Archer report that Miles Austin's (hamstring) "more likely" return date is October 16 (Week 6).
Sources tell ESPN Dallas that Austin is "not expected to play" in Week 3 against the Redskins, and the Cowboys want to make sure the lingering hamstring strain heals before bringing him back. Per ESPN's report, "it is possible" Austin could play in Week 4 (October 2 against the Lions), but more likely to the Cowboys hold him out through the bye. Austin's absence is likely to translate to more targets for both Jason Witten and Dez Bryant.

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, Darrelle Revis will cover Miles Austin in Sunday night's Jets-Cowboys game.
Mehta concedes the Jets will "adjust if need to." Austin (hamstring, probable) is nothing more than a WR3 with the shutdown corner Revis slated to shadow him. Start Austin if you must, but consider other options if you have the luxury of depth. Dez Bryant clearly has the better matchup, but Antonio Cromartie is no slouch, either. Tony Romo may have to lean heavily on Jason Witten.

Both ESPN Dallas' Calvin Watkins and NFL Network's Mike Lombardi report that the Cowboys will release Roy Williams.
It's time for Dez Bryant to spread his wings. Williams' play didn't warrant his $5.1 base salary, and the Cowboys are able to take a massive $12 million salary cap hit thanks to the new soft cap. Now Bryant is the undisputed No. 2 receiver and the talented Kevin Ogletree will get a chance as the No. 3. Williams is only 29 and will garner interest, quite possibly under Mike Martz in Chicago. Williams made his only Pro Bowl appearance in Martz's Lions offense in 2006.

According to the National Football Post, "it’s looking more and more" like the Cowboys will release Roy Williams.
In addition to his oversized contract, the Post's Dan Pompei believes Dallas is leaning toward cutting Williams loose because of a desire to "clear the way for Dez Bryant to play more." Williams hardly seemed to be blocking Bryant in 2010, but his departure would undoubtedly provide Bryant with more opportunities.
