Turris got back on track last season after injuries held him back in 2015-16. He topped the Senators with a personal best 27 goals and he registered 55 points in 78 matches. Turris had a career high 14.6 shooting percentage, but it isn't a significant leap from his average of 11.5 percent since joining Ottawa. He spent most his 5v5 playing time with Ryan Dzingel and Bobby Ryan, who didn’t light it up offensively during the regular season. His six power-play goals tied him for second on the team and his 17 points on the man advantage ranked him third on the Senators. Turris has hovered around the 0.70 points per game mark for three of the last four seasons and could top 60 points again if he gets reunited with Mark Stone and Mike Hoffman on a more regular basis.
Updated Oct. 20: Kyle Turris tallied his third goal of 2017-18 in a 5-4 overtime loss to New Jersey on Thursday night. It was Turris' second power-play marker of the year and his fourth point on the man advantage. He has accumulated eight points in seven games this season.

Kyle Turris picked up three assists in a 6-0 win over the Calgary Flames on Friday night.
After starting the first two games of the new campaign without a point, Turris now has four points over his last two games. He is finishing up the last season of a five-year contract and appears hungry for a new deal to start the season. Look for the talented center to finish with close to 60 points this season.

Kyle Turris said he hasn't requested a trade and he isn't worried about contract talks with the Senators.
"I'm not going to get into talks because that's between my agent (Kurt Overhardt) and (Senators general manager) Pierre Dorion," said Turris. "I'm focused on playing hockey." Talks between the two sides have reportedly stalled because the two sides can't agree on the term of the deal. TSN's Darren Dreger said before Thursday's season opener that he expected Turris to be traded before the Feb. 26 deadline. There is still plenty of time to come to an agreement, but if the Senators decide to move Turris then there should be plenty of interested teams.

Kyle Turris found the back of the net in Ottawa’s 9-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.
Turris opened the scoring with a power play goal just 22 seconds into the game, but the Senators ended up allowing the next six goals. This is a huge year for Turris, as he’s scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. The 28-year-old had 27 goals and 55 points in 78 games last season. It’s entirely possible that he reaches similar numbers this season.

Kyle Turris will get another exhibition game off Saturday, but he is slated to play in all three matches next week to prepare for the regular season.
"He'll play the last three. I've got too many centers to watch right now," said coach Guy Boucher. "At first, I thought we'd play him Saturday, but you know what? I've got too many guys. When you put together a lineup, you want to see the young guys and you want your guys to be ready. We're juggling. Saturday is a big one for the new guys and young guys to see what they've got." Ottawa isn't expected to have Derick Brassard and Colin White for the beginning of the season, so getting looks at other players is important and so is protecting the health of Turris.
