Manuel Pellegrini has revealed Alvaro Negredo will miss the FA Cup tie with Watford after suffering a shoulder injury.
Pellegrini said "Alvaro is not ready for Saturday. We will see in the next days how his shoulder reacts from the work he is doing. Maybe in a week he will be okay.". This suggests Negredo won't be ready to face Tottenham in midweek either, meaning Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko should start the Week 23 match-up. Jan 24 - 11:59 AM

Alvaro Negredo scored his 9th goal of the season and first on the road since opening day in 2nd half stoppage time as Manchester City win their 6th straight game to move to the top of the table in a controversy filled 0-2 win over Newcastle United.

As City await the return of Sergio Aguero, they continue to show how strong they are even without the all world striker. Goals from Edin Dzeko early and Negredo late accounted for the scoring, with assists provided by Aleksandar Kolarov and James Milner respectively as the Sky Blues took advantage of a depleted Newcastle defense. Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri exited in the 2nd half due to injury, with the latter's case looking the more serious. Buy your City players in bulk this week, as they prepare to dissect the Cardiff City defense at the Etihad.

Alvaro Negredo's hat-trick helped Manchester City take a giant step towards the Capital One Cup final as they thrashed a woeful West Ham 6-0 in the semi-final first leg at the Etihad.

Negredo was back on the goal trail with a superb hat-trick after a couple of quiet weeks, while Edin Dzeko grabbed a brace and Yaya Toure also got himself on the score-sheet. City have been sensational at home in all competitions and have done remarkably well to ensure the loss of Sergio Aguero had no real impact on their season. West Ham are now winless in six matches and find themselves facing a cup exit while firmly in the Premier League relegation zone.

Alvaro Negredo scored the game-winner late in the 1st half as City hold off Liverpool 2-1 in a thrilling finish to the Boxing Day matches.

Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling combined to find Philippe Coutinho (24') for the games' opening goal midway through the 1st half, but an equalizer from Vincent Kompany (31') and a second from Negredo (45') were enough to give City a huge win at the Etihad. For Negredo it was his 8th goal of the 2013 season and his 9th-straight goal at the Etihad. With Sergio Aguero currently sitting out due to injury, this was a positive sign for City who now sit at No.2 in the latest BPL standings. With the loss Liverpool fal1 to No.4 overall. The Sky Blues are 9-0-0 at home - 37 goals scored.

Alvaro Negredo scored a hat-trick and Sergio Aguero added two goals as Manchester City ran out 5-2 winners against CSKA Moscow to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League for the first time.

This is starting to look like a very promising partnership indeed. Negredo and Aguero have scored 22 goals between them already and have firmly established themselves as Manuel Pellegrini's first choice forward pairing. Stevan Jovetic and Edin Dzeko will may need to accept substitute and Capital One Cup appearances for now.

Alvaro Negredo was an impact substitute today for Manchester City as he scored from a header to put the Blues ahead 1-0 over Hull City Tigers in the 65th minute.

Negredo replaced Edin Dzeko to begin the 2nd half after City were blanked in the 1st. Fed by a cross from Pablo Zabaleta, he delivered a powerful downward header past Tiger's keeper Allan McGregor. While Dzeko had a fine preseason and did not disappoint with goals in the first two regular season games, it appears Negredo is poised to unseat the Bosnian and earn a spot alongside Sergio Aguero in the regular XI.
