Stevan Jovetic has left the Premier League and Manchester City for Serie A and Inter Milan according to a Tweet from Inter.
Jovetic arrived at the Etihad with much fanfare but poor health robbed him of a chance to really establish himself in the side. With Wilfried Bony arriving last January and Raheem Sterling coming this summer, the writing was on the wall for Jovetic. He will now move on and see if he can recreate the great Serie A form that saw City buy him in the first place. There is some question over the nature of the deal with Inter having announced a four-year permanent deal and Manchester City indicating a year-and-a-half loan with an option to buy permanently. The terms don't matter too much on the pitch but City have put together a string of disappointing transfers and to not get a transfer fee back for Jovetic for another 18 months minimum would be another brutal indictment of their transfer dealings. Man City have been linked with Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain as Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic both head to the Etihad exit…

Man City are on the hunt for a striker to replace Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic, both of whom look destined for new pastures after failing to establish themselves at the Etihad. Jovetic, show cost £22 million from Fiorentina in 2013, is reported to be having a medical at Inter Milan next week. While Dzeko, a £27m buy from Wolfsburg in 2011 has been linked with a £14m move to Roma. Argentine Gonzalo Higuain is seen as the ideal man to link-up with countryman Sergio Aguero in attack. His club Napoli has stressed he is not for sale, but a bid in the region of £45m will test their resolve. Alternatively, City boss Manual Pellegrini has Wilfried Bony on the books and is keen to give game time to 18-year-old academy player Kelechi Iheanacho this season.

Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic has slammed manager Manuel Pellegrini’s decision to leave him out of the club’s Champions League squad.

With Manchester City competition in this season's Champions League with a reduced squad, and having signed forward Wilfried Bony from Swansea in the transfer window, Pellegrini decided to leave Jovetic out of his squad for European matches. It's safe to say the Montenegro international is furious. ""The manager has killed me with this decision. I feel I deserve my place and other people have told me the same. People have told me I am a great player but it is clear that the manager does not think the same way. I am very disappointed, even now. I don’t think it was a good decision or the right decision. I know that I deserve to be on the list. I told the manager this but he did not want to listen to me. I came here to play in the Champions League." With Jovetic now behind Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Bony in the pecking order it would be no surprised to see the forward leave the club this summer.

Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic could feature in GW19 after being an unused substitute on Boxing Day.

Jovetic is Manchester City's only active striker at the moment and they need him to get healthy sooner rather than later. After being an unused substitute, Jovetic will likely be given at least half an hour on Sunday against Burnley. Manchester City are bound to score a number of goals against Burnley and it's just a matter of whether or not Jovetic is on the pitch when the goals start flowing. He is a risky differential play this week but makes for a fantastic barn-door candidate due to Manchester's easy matchup in week 20.

Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic won't be able to get fit for Boxing Day.

Jovetic is recovering from an injury and won't be able to return for Friday. This is a crucial time for title contenders and Manchester City will certainly miss having a striker tomorrow. James Milner will likely end up leading the line again and should be considered as a good short term option.

Manchester City face a striker shortage / crisis as their three leading marksman are all ruled out for "maybe more than a couple of weeks."

Fresh from the disappointment of losing Sergio Aguero [knee ligament] for at least a month City at least took solace from the fact that Edin Dzeko was returning from a calf problem while Stevan Jovetic was managing his own muscular issue. However all that was about to change just 45 minutes prior to kick-off at the King Power Stadium on Saturday. Firstly the Press Association confirmed Jovetic had aggravated his injury in Rome – although the problem was only thought to be minor – and then Dzeko pulled up during the warm-up with a recurrence of his calf strain. Jose Pozo stepped in to fill the void today but in truth the youngster is still very raw and when you factor the loss of Vincent Kompany as well Manuel Pellegrini will have his work cut out just holding onto the coattails of Chelsea in the coming weeks.

Stevan Jovetic scored his first goal since August as Manchester City came from behind to beat Swansea.

Jovetic had an excellent pre-season and started the proper campaign well with two goals in his opening three games before suffering an injury and consequently losing his starting spot to Edin Dzeko, but the roles have now been reversed. Dzeko is currently sidelined with injury so Jovetic is back in the team and scored the equalising goal against Swansea at the weekend, his first since August. If the striker can maintain fitness then he's back on the radar as a fantasy alternative to the expensive Sergio Aguero whenever Manchester City have a decent fixture.

Striker Stevan Jovetic is back in contention for Manchester City after recovering from the thigh injury which he picked up during training while on international duty with Montenegro at the beginning of September.

The return of Jovetic provides a welcome boost for Pellegrini as City approach a busy footballing period [after the international break] both domestically and across Europe which will see them play 7 games within 21 days easing pressure on his attacking teammates. Having suffered from a number of muscular issues throughout 2014 Sergio Aguero needs to be managed carefully leaving Edin Dzeko as the only other recognised striker within the first team squad; although youngster Jose Angel Pozo did impress during the Capital One Cup recently and won’t be far from a league debut if he continues in the same rich vein of form.

Stevan Jovetic has been ruled out of Manchester City's squad with a hamstring injury.

With Jovetic out, Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero are likely to both start. Although it's hard to recommend players with an away fixture at the Emirates, we must note that Sergio Aguero is a world class striker capable of scoring in any stadium. If you start anyone from City, let it be Aguero.

Stevan Jovetic looks set to miss his country’s opening Euro 2016 qualifying tie against Moldova after suffering a suspected hamstring injury in training on Saturday.

The Manchester City striker has started this season well with two goals in his opening three games and was the preferred strike partner to Sergio Aguero keeping Edin Dzeko on the bench in his clubs last league game. Since his arrival from Fiorentina last summer the Montenegro international has seen his game limited by a variety of injuries which restricted him to just two starts and three goals during 2013/14 but with a solid preseason under his belt the early signs have been promising for the man who arrived with a big reputation. Stevan Jovetic is now considered a major doubt for Saturday’s early kick-off against Arsenal at The Emirates.

Nik Argiropoulos believes Stevan Jovetic will continue his excellent start to the season against Stoke in Week 3.

The striker displayed his class against Liverpool in Week 2, grabbing a brace to back-up the superb performance put in throughout pre-season. In this form Jovetic will be a starter for the foreseeable future and he can be added to your Yahoo team for almost half the cost of Sergio Aguero.

Stevan Jovetic scored the first two goals of the match and then made way for Sergio Aguero who sealed it with a third.

Manchester City looked every bit the defending champions as they beat up last season's runners up Liverpool 3-1 at the Etihad. Pablo Zabaleta was credited with an own goal late but otherwise City had their way with Liverpool. Consider the first volley in the title race fired with City looking legitimate while Liverpool will have to hope their new arrivals continue to gel as they play and train together.

Rarely recommended last season, but Stevan Jovetic is high on Nik Argiropoulos' list of players to focus on in Week 1.

Manchester City's forgotten man at times last season but Jovetic will need to stand-up in the absence of the injured Alvaro Negredo and with Aguero not fully fit. He's been in excellent form in pre-season, scoring goals for fun, and is priced at an absolute bargain at under £6million for his side's trip to Newcastle.

Stevan Jovetic bagged a brace but Liverpool beat Manchester City in a pre-season friendly at Yankee Stadium.

Liverpool came from behind twice to draw 2-2 in normal time before winning a penalty shoot-out 3-1. However, the biggest news is the superb pre-season form of Jovetic. The striker picked up the man of the match award against AC Milan last week after scoring twice and grabbed two more goals against Liverpool, suggesting he's ready to have a more fluent season for Manchester City. With Alvaro Negredo out injured for the next few months and Sergio Aguero still nursing recurring hamstring and groin problems, he'll be needed. Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson grabbed Liverpool's goals.

It's only a friendly tournament, but this was an impressive performance by Manuel Pellegrini's men against a strong AC Milan side. Stevan Jovetic was the star, scoring twice and picking up the man of the match award. With Alvaro Negredo out injured for the next few months and Sergio Aguero still nursing recurring hamstring and groin problems, Jovetic will be expected to step up and play a more prominent role this season, and he's got his pre-season off to a flying start. Scott Sinclair continued his decent form with another pre-season goal, while Jesus Navas and Kelechi Iheanacho added the others.
