Juventus are making a £20 million bid to sign the Brazilian midfielder Paulinho from Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Telegraph.
Paulinho had a difficult World Cup following an up-and-down début season at White Hart Lane. The talented midfielder started brightly under AVB but suffered an injury last December and then lost his place in the Spurs team under Tim Sherwood on his return. When he did feature he often looked tired and that trend continued in Brazil as he lost his place in the starting XI after some weak performances. Paulinho will now earn a much needed break before returning to pre-season training and one would think he could work well in new manager's Maurcio Pochettino's standard system, but if Juventus come calling with a massive bid then it could be too good for the club and the player to turn down. Brazil and Mexico displayed end to end action virtually the entire match but defending and especially goalkeeping was the order of the day as the two countries play to a 0-0 final.

The name on everyone's lips having seen this match is Mexican keeper Guillermo Ochoa, who's performance will not soon be forgotten, making countless saves from point blank range like a comic book superhero. Brazil's Julio Cesar made a couple of great saves as well as the two sides put on as entertaining a 0-0 affair as one can ever imagine. Paulinho was a peripheral figure and it wouldn't be surprising to see a shakeup in the XI when Brazil plays Cameroon - a match that would have been a formality to advancing had they won as expected today but now they must clamp down and take care of business.

Paulinho has insisted he never considered leaving Tottenham Hotspur during a difficult first season at White Hart Lane.

Paulinho started the season well at Tottenham, and nine goals plus five assists from midfield is far from a disaster for a debut season in England, but the final few months were disappointing. The midfielder suffered an injury in January and struggled for fitness and form on his return, finding himself on the bench under Tim Sherwood, but insists he is happy at White Hart Lane. Chelsea have been linked to a move for the 25-year old, but new manager Mauricio Pochettino will be keen to hold on to one of the club's most prized assets in the hope that the fans will see the best of the Brazilian next season.

With David Luiz all but gone Chelsea will likely be recruiting a holding midfielder with Paulinho, Paul Pogba and Koke all mentioned.

With Pogba recently declaring himself to be settled at Juve and Koke on the verge of a Champions League final the most probable name mentioned is Paulinho. The Brazilian midfielder is both excellent and probably a little angry at Spurs for replacing him with Nabil Bentaleb from time-to-time this season. A move across London and up the table could make sense as both clubs go back to the drawing board.

Six Premier League players were named to Brazil's National Team for this summer's FIFA World Cup.

The six players included David Luiz (Chelsea), Paulinho (Tottenham), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Ramires (Chelsea), Oscar (Chelsea), and Willian (Chelsea). The only player from the list that is currently injured is Oscar but his injury is not considered serious and he is expected to be fully fit by the first match. There were no major surprises in the squad and no notable Premier League players were left out. The players who are named in the squad all have a good chance of being major contributors and gaining valuable experience from the competition. The full squad can be found at the link below.

Paulinho admits that a lack of game time at Tottenham Hotspur since Tim Sherwood took the managerial reins has left him frustrated.

Paulinho stated "I understand the team rotation because that's how it works here, but I am not feeling well or comfortable. I want to be present, I want to play". The Brazilian star is expected to play a key role in this summer's World Cup and he made a bright start at Tottenham but has become a peripheral figure under Sherwood, with Nabil Bentaleb preferred in midfield for the majority of matches.

Paulinho returned from injury for Tottenham and gave them their only goal which helped Spurs earn a point after trailing in a 1-1 draw with Hull City.

After a midweek drubbing at the hands of Manchester City, Spurs needed to show they could respond against a side like Hull should they have aspirations of a Champions League spot, and they could only salvage a point. The return of Paulinho and Jan Vertonghen was a welcome sight, but they never looked the dominant team. Danny Rose fed Paulinho in the box off of a designed play, and the Brazilian turned and fired swiftly. He has shown signs enough in his debut season that he likes to find ways to get touches in the box, and offers true box to box contributions. Spurs host Everton next in a huge matchup for both clubs.

Following a MRI scan, Tottenham have confirm that Paulinho has sustained significant ligament damage to his right ankle and will miss at least four weeks.

This is a blow for Spurs, as Paulinho was just back from a three game suspension and had been playing exceptionally well against Stoke before his exit. It was yet another horror tackle from Charlie Adam which caused the injury, yet the Stoke midfielder wasn't even booked, and we wait to see whether the FA act retrospectively. The likes ot Etienne Capoue, Lewis Holtby and Sandro should all be available to replace the Brazilian over the coming weeks.

After trailing 1-0, Paulinho brought Tottenham back level with a goal just before halftime and Spurs completed the comeback thanks to a Sunderland own goal in the second half to win 1-2.

Paulinho was getting further forward today into a more attacking position and it paid off. With time winding down in the first half, Michael Dawson sent a long range free kick into the area where Nacer Chadli headed the ball into the path of Paulinho who was able to extend and poke home to give Spurs much needed confidence heading into the dressing room. Spurs are lucky to be sitting 6th in the table after having been outscored on the season by their opponents and collecting consecutive wins in narrow, come from behind fashion against competition they should have handled more easily.

Paulinho scored a fantastic goal in added time to give Tottenham a 1-0 win over Cardiff.

Three minutes into added time, Eric Lamela found space on the wing and provided a great cross inside, where Paulinho was able to back-heel the ball to the back of the net. Spurs were the better team as they had 29 total shots(12 on target) to Cardiff's six(zero on target), but they couldn't capitalize until the very end. New signings have been key in for Tottenham so far this season and the decision to sell Gareth Bale looks to have been a good one.

Paulinho was named Man of the Match in Tottenham's victory today over Crystal Palace

While not exhibiting much of an attacking threat in his Spurs debut, the Brazilian did a splendid job bossing control of the midfield and made the Spurs defense look potentially stronger than in recent seasons. Currently priced at only 6.29, he can be a budget nailed-on option worth considering with his ability to earn fantasy returns through intercepting passes, winning tackles, and perhaps the occasional offensive contribution.
