Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu could be on the verge of a return to Goodison Park for a bargain £3 million.
Everton fans took the skillful winger to their hearts after a successful loan spell in the 2013-14 season. Deulofeu started nine PL matches and featured in another 16 from the bench, scoring four times. Though still a teenager at the time and exposed as a little lightweight in some matches, his quality was clear to see. Two years on and with the added experience of another successful loan spell at Europa League winning side Seville last term, the reported £3 million transfer fee looks good business. An agreement was apparently reached between Martinez and Barcelona director of football Josep Maria Bartomeu a month ago, but the deal has not yet been rubber-stamped. Jun 15 - 5:46 AM

Gerard Deulofeu's hamstring injury was confirmed by the Everton medical staff, and a five week convalescence is expected.

Everton are one of the Premier League's in-form sides, and Deulofeu's injury should ensure Kevin Mirallas a run in the starting eleven. With Swansea, Sunderland, and Stoke City the next three opponents, Mirallas and the other Everton players should see plenty of fantasy investment.

Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu's hamstring injury sustained during the Toffee's clash with Fulham has been assessed and the loanee is thought to be out for up to five weeks.

Initial reports were suggesting a layoff closer to the three week range and the phrasing of "could be out for up to five weeks" leaves the window open for an earlier return but the increase in the projected timetable should rule out any hope for Delofeu's chances of contributing during the festive period. Kevin Mirallas will have an extended opportunity to claim his spot back for good in the meantime.

Gerard Deulofeu looks set to be out "for some time" after damaging his hamstring during his 2nd Premier League start for Everton in their 4-1 dismantling of Fulham.

Bad luck for the teenage Barcelona loanee who had just managed to unseat Kevin Mirallas on the right flank after impressing the previous week with a goal against Arsenal. Mirallas will have another chance now to stake his claim during Deulofeu's absence and has already reminded Roberto Martinez of his talents by finding the net after coming on for Deulofeu yesterday. Neither are tantalizing prospects being classified as forwards, Romelu Lukaku gets first dibs.

Gerard Deulofeu scored what would prove to be the winning goal in Everton's 4-0 destruction of Stoke City in Week 13.

Everton were up 1-0 at the half through Deulofeu's goal and then turned on the afterburners for three goals in the second half. Seamus Coleman, Leighton Baines-replacement Bryan Oviedo and Romelu Lukaku all scored in the second half to secure the final margin. Apparently Everton will be OK with Leighton Baines out injured.

Gerard Deulofeu had an impressive summer of international competition and has brought that form to his first start for Everton in the Capital One Cup.

Deulofeu scored Everton's opener against Stevenage which drew the score even heading into halftime. Everton's late winner was scored by Marouane Fellaini whose potential transfer to Manchester United could free up time for Deulofeu to play in the Premier League as opposed to cup competitions. Until Everton's central midfield gets sorted out it probably doesn't make sense to get too excited about Deulefeu's goal.
