Goals in the first half from Steven Davis and Graziano Pelle put Southampton in a comfortable position to defeat AFC Bournemouth, 2-0.
Both goals came within five minutes of each other and both were scored by magnificent crosses from the left. First, Ryan Bertrand curled a beautiful cross to find Davis at the back post for an easy score, then Dusan Tadic showed some nifty footwork to send a rainbow cross into the area where Pelle headed it home. Bournemouth didn't show much life to battle back, even when a second yellow for Victor Wanyama gave the Cherries a man advantage for the final 12 minutes. An easy clean sheet for the Saints defense, though it is uncertain if captain Jose Fonte's halftime substitution for Maya Yoshida was injury related or tactical. Nov 1 - 1:05 PM

Steven Davis captained Northern Ireland to a vital win in the Euro 2016 qualifier on Friday.

Davis played well for his country and was vital in their win over the Faroe Islands. He is expected to captain the club again tomorrow against Hungary in a very important match that could end up deciding if his country qualifies for the Euro 2016 tournament. The Southampton midfielder has been in and out of the Saints squad this season and the uncertainty has given a hit to his fantasy value. He is only an option in very deep leagues at this moment.

Steven Davis won Man of the Match honors in the Republic of Ireland's draw against Romania.

Davis was fantastic in the match, much like he was with Southampton at times this season. The midfielder earned regular playing time this year and was fifth in minutes played on the Saints' squad. He featured in 35 matches but only registered two assists, as most of his contributions were effort and defense based. The lack of scoring and assisting really hurts his fantasy value, resulting in an 4.4 fantasy point per match average in the Yahoo! game. He is only an option in the very last rounds of fantasy drafts next season.

Steven Davis is probable for GW32 after missing time with an ankle problem.

Davis missed the Everton clash with an ankle injury but has returned to training and will be available for selection this weekend. He has had a good season and should be inserted back into the starting lineup, but his fantasy value is questionable with Southampton's form declining. No one on the Saints can score right now, so Davis' assist potential is limited and he is not a known goal-scorer. Be careful if using him in fantasy.

Southampton's Steven Davis is a doubt for the clash against Everton this weekend.

Davis has a groin strain and is unlikely to feature against Everton. The injury is not expected to be serious and he could be back as soon as next week. James Ward-Prowse, Dusan Tadic, and Eljero Elia are set to benefit from his absence, but it's not entirely clear who will start for the Saints.

Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill confirmed post-match on Sunday that influential captain and Southampton midfielder Steven Davis was withdrawn during the win over Finland because of a thigh issue.

Davis became the second Southampton player to return from international duty with a problem following the withdrawal of Matt Targett [England under-21] although the extent of either injury is not yet known. However with the exception of long-term absentees [Jay Rodriguez, Fraser Forster & Emmanuel Mayuka] Ronald Koeman has a pretty healthy squad at his disposal and options in midfield are plentiful. If Davis does miss out this weekend [away Everton] then the Saints will need to make at least one enforced change from the side which beat Burnley with Victor Wanyama or James Ward-Prowse most likely to come into the eleven.

Southampton have acquired Filip Djuričić on loan from Portuguese side Benfica for the remainder of the season.

Djuričić is known as an attacking midfielder and would figure to battle for playing time with veteran Steven Davis when looking at the Saints current squad. Having capped for the Serbian national team, Djuričić was on loan to FSV Mainsz to begin the season but will now finish up the campaign on England's southern coast. Ronald Koeman has had great seasons from many of his regular players, so it may take some time for Djuričić to have an impact. If he is in this weekend's XI, then it would appear Koeman sees him as an important asset down the stretch.

Steven Davis has been ruled out of Northern Ireland's match against Romania on Friday.

Davis is dealing with a hamstring issue and scans ruled him out of the match against Romania this week. He will be a huge miss for the Northern Ireland squad but remains hopeful he can return in week 12 of the Premier League. His status at the moment remains 50/50 and Jack Cork will likely come in if Davis can't make it back in time for week 12.

Steven Davis is still hopeful he can play some part in the upcoming Euro qualifying game against Romania on Friday after the Saints midfielder was replaced just before half-time during Saturdays’ win over Leicester City.

The Northern Ireland international has been in excellent form this season recently signing a contract extension which will tie him to Southampton until 2018 and following the superb start under Ronald Koeman Davis is keen to retain his place in the starting eleven. However initial reports suggest that his withdrawal was more of a precaution due to tightness in his hamstring and should Davis miss this weeks’ international then he should be fine for the following week when the Saints travel to Villa Park. Jack Cork or two goal hero Shane Long are options worthy of serious consideration if further tests reveal more serious damage for Steven Davis.

Southampton's Steven Davis completed more passes than the entire Aston Villa side(109 to 96).

Davis played well filling in for Morgan Schneiderlin, who missed the game with an injury. Davis has played well in a limited role this season and seems to be improving despite being 28 years old. If the Saints don't get healthy soon, Davis can be an interesting fantasy wild card for managers looking to take risks.

Steven Davis and Dani Osvaldo have both been declared fit for tomorrow's game against Stoke.

It's unknown if either will get the start as Southampton played great last weekend without them and manager Mauricio Pochettino may decide to stay with a winning side. If either of them starts the game, Osvaldo is a fantasy option, but there are many better picks.

Steven Davis and Dani Osvaldo will both be assessed before the game this weekend against Stoke City.

Both are recovering from minor injuries and missed the game against Fulham last weekend. The bad news is that we probably won't know their status until after the fantasy deadline so I would suggest you skip on both this weekend. The good news is that they should be back in action soon and the injuries don't seem to be a problem going forward.

Steven Davis is a doubt for Southampton's match against Fulham this weekend due to an injury.

Davis has "picked up a slight knock" according to the Daily Echo and is a doubt for the weekend. He will be evaluated further before a decision is made. Davis has been earning more playing time as of late and seems like an important piece for Pochettino going forward. Avoid him for the weekend but keep an eye out for him in the future, especially if he secures a starting spot.

Southampton midfielder Steven Davis is determined to fight for a starting spot on the Saints' squad after scoring two goals against Barnsley in the Capital One Cup.

Davis has lost his place in the squad after the emergence of young players and the signing of Victor Wanyama. Even with his impressive display against Barnsley, I don't anticipate he will get enough playing time to secure a starting spot anytime soon, so using him on your fantasy team is very risky.
