Cameroon XI: Itandje, Nyom, Matip, N'Koulou, Bedimo, Enoh, M'Bia, N'Guemo, Choupo-Moting, Moukandjo, Aboubakar
Cameroon will be playing for pride but they are a shell of their potential selves without the services of Samuel Eto'o, who can only be used as a substitute and it is doubtful he will feature at all. Benoit Assou-Ekotto has been dropped this time around. On paper it looks like a clean sheet in store for Brazil, so based on how the tourney has gone thus far, cue a flurry of Cameroon goals. Cameroon were beaten thoroughly by a goal happy Croatian side and are now eliminated from making it through to the knockout stage after a 0-4 drubbing.

A knee injury for Samuel Eto'o made him unavailable for this one but it looks like it would not have made any difference. Cameroon were on the back foot all evening long and their keeper, Charles Itandje, was not up to the task of stopping much of anything. They still have a match with host Brazil, perhaps a good time to give the youngest players on the squad some experience for the future.

Samuel Eto'o is likely to miss Cameroon's match against Croatia later this week due to a knee injury.

The Cameroonian striker suffered the injury during Cameroon's loss to Mexico and has missed multiple training sessions because of it. He tweeted out yesterday that he is likely to miss the Croatia match due to the knee problem. Cameroon's chances of advancing past the group stages are extremely low and the injury only makes the task more unlikely. Eto'o may return for the last match against Brazil but we don't anticipate the result of that match to matter for either team as the group may already be decided by that time.

Samuel Eto'o is determined to keep on playing in Europe's top leagues and participate in the Champions League next season.

The Cameroonian striker scored 12 goals in his only season at Chelsea and there was controversy about his age during his time there. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho hinted after the last match of the season that Eto'o will not be returning to Chelsea and the Blues have already acted upon it by signing Diego Costa as a replacement. Eto'o is 33 years old and will not be a great fantasy choice if he ends up playing in the Premier League next season.

Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid to acquire striker Diego Costa for a fee of £32m.

There have been rumors all season long that linked up Chelsea with Diego Costa and it seems the time has come. Costa has led Atletico Madrid to the Champions League final this year and his team is one point away from winning La Liga. He has 35 goals in 47 appearances and seems like the player Chelsea have been missing all season long. In all likelihood, Costa will be replacing Samuel Eto'o, who no longer has a contract with Chelsea and is not expected to resign. His presence could lead to Chelsea getting rid of Fernando Torres and/or Demba Ba. At the very least, he will seriously hinder their playing time. Costa will be a great fantasy choice next year, as good strikers have flourished even more under Jose Mourinho in the past.

Samuel Eto'o has picked up an injury in training and is very likely to miss Chelsea's match this weekend.

It's unknown if Eto'o simply aggravated his knee injury or if he's picked up a different knock but Jose Mourinho will likely rest him Sunday. Demba Ba or Fernando Torres should get the start and considering both will likely be on their way out this summer, we wouldn't be surprised to see both feature in this match in an attempt to raise their stock for the transfer mark. We also wouldn't trust them in fantasy this week.

Samuel Eto'o is doubtful for Chelsea's match against Liverpool this weekend with a knee injury.

Eto'o missed Chelsea's midweek match against Atletico Madrid but he hopes to be healthy for the second leg. He is the Blues' most in form striker and will be needed if they want to make the Champions League final. Demba Ba is the likeliest to start against Liverpool this weekend but I wouldn't use any Chelsea plays in this match due to the uncertainty around the lineups.
Apr 25 - 1:28 PM

Samuel Eto'o has been ruled out of Chelsea's midweek UCL match against Atletico Madrid with a knee injury.

Eto'o is Chelsea's most in form striker and this is a huge blow for the Blues. The extent of the injury is unknown and there is no word on whether the Cameroonian striker will be able to return for the big Premier League clash against Liverpool this weekend. Without Eto'o, Chelsea will likely start Demba Ba to lead the club at the striker position. If Chelsea can come away from tomorrow's match with a draw or a one goal loss, they should feel good about their chances of advancing. The second leg is next week.

Jose Mourinho was handed his first ever loss at Stamford Bridge as manager of Chelsea, as last place Sunderland pulled off the upset of the season in a 1-2 final.

After 77 unbeaten matches, 61 of which were wins, Mourinho finally tastes defeat on his own pitch, ending one of the more spectacular records in league history. The manager had to turn to Mark Schwarzer to fill in for Petr Cech, who was a late scratch due to a virus. Samuel Eto'o gave the Blues the lead in the 12th minute, converting a left footed volley from a Willian corner and it looked to be business as usual. Sunderland would level six minutes later however, as Schwarzer spilled his save, allowing Connor Wickam to score. Chelsea had their expected share of chances, but Vito Mannone was up to the task after the early Eto'o goal. Compounded with Mourinho's record being smashed, the loss takes the fate out of Chelsea's hands for the title race assuming Liverpool take care of business tomorrow.

Samuel Eto'o continues to miss time and has been ruled out for Chelsea's match against Stoke City.

Eto'o is close to a return and Chelsea are likely being cautious with him as they need him in the second leg of their Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain. Chelsea's strikers have not been playing well so it's hard to tell who will get the start against Stoke. Fernando Torres, Demba Ba, and Andre Schurrle are all options Jose Mourinho can explore.

Samuel Eto'o is considered doubtful for Chelsea's home match against Stoke City this weekend.

Jose Mourinho chose to go with Andre Schurrle up top against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League but that didn't work too well and it's unknown who will start for the Blues if Eto'o misses out. Fernando Torres has been in poor form and Mourinho may decide to go with Demba Ba over the weekend. Eto'o shouldn't miss much longer and Chelsea will hope to have him back when they face PSG a week from now.

Samuel Eto'o hopes to be fit for Chelsea's Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain on April 2nd.

Eto'o has been Chelsea's best striker in recent weeks and he will be needed when the Blues face Ibrahimovich and friends. This news, however, almost certainly rules him out for Chelsea's trip to Crystal Palace this weekend. Fernando Torres is likely to start in his place but he has struggled to score and is not recommended for fantasy purposes.

Mar 25 - 7:44 PM

Samuel Eto'o scored in the fifth minute to get Chelsea started in a 6-0 win over Arsenal but left the game soon after with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.

Eto'o has been playing great lately and an injury will surely be a blow to both him and Chelsea. He was replaced by Fernando Torres, who can be expected to start if Eto'o misses any time. There are no details on the injury so we don't yet know how long Eto'o will be out so check back later in the week to get an update.

Chelsea qualified for the Champions League quarter finals with ease after dominating Galatasaray on the way to a 2-0 (3-1 on aggregate) win at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues' first goal came in the 4th minute when Samuel Eto'o found himself in the oppositions' box and finished calmly. Gary Cahill made it 2-0 before halftime after the ball bounced in front after a Gernando Muslera save. Chelsea controlled the game from start to finish and were never threatened by Didier Drogba and company. Eden Hazard made multiple runs down the side and created numerous opportunity for his teammates. The score could easily have been 5-0 if Chelsea had pushed more men forward. The Blues face Arsenal on Saturday in what will be a very crucial match in the Premier League title race.

Chelsea destroyed Tottenham in a 4-0 game that saw a series of questionable calls from referee Michael Oliver.

Samuel Eto'o scored the first goal and won the penalty for the second after he was brought down by Younes Kaboul. Kaboul was sent off in what was a harsh decision by the referee that ended up deciding the match. Eden Hazard converted the penalty and Chelsea proceeded to take advantage of being one man up by making it 4-0 with two Demba Ba goals. Chelsea are now seven points clear at the top of the table but many of the teams chasing them have played less games.
