According to Sky sources, West Ham have signed Morgan Amalfitano on a free transfer.
Sky Sports are reporting the deal and that's usually as good as done. Amalfitano played for West Brom last season when he was there on loan, scoring four goals in 30 matches. We don't think his value is much higher here and he'll probably be a fantasy backup at best. It's still a good signing for West Ham as they look for offensive options and Amalfitano can provide a spark at times. It's been a great transfer season for the Hammers so far but they'll have to get their chemistry in order soon as the season starts in a week. Aug 9 - 1:54 PM

QPR have stepped up their efforts to sign Morgan Amalfitano from Marseille.

Amalfitano enjoyed a loan spell with West Bromwich Albion last season and impressed on occasions, but a permanent move failed to materialise. The 29-year-old is reportedly still available for a cut-price fee of £2.5million, and he would be a good value signing for QPR if they can pull it off.

Morgan Amalfitano's early goal stood up for a 1-0 win that will likely see West Brom stay up for another season of Premier League action.

It may not be pretty but Pepe Mel appears to have done the job he was brought on to do which was keep West Brom up. With a huge win over relegation rivals Norwich City at Carrow Road, West Brom moved enough ahead of Norwich, Fulham, Sunderland, and Cardiff City that it would be difficult for two of those four to overtake the Baggies between now and the end of the season. After a long slump, Amalfitano has scored twice in the last two weeks to help his club's fortunes significantly against fellow strugglers Cardiff City and Norwich.

West Bromwich Albion set the tone with a wonder goal from Morgan Amalfitano in the 2nd minute, but would eventually squander two leads to settle for a 3-3 draw with Cardiff City.

Whether it was intended or not, Amalfitano scored an exquisite goal to get things going, sending a rainbow of a shot from the right flank over the head of a stunned David Marshall. Amalfitano would be involved again several minutes later, as he sent a cross into the box that was settled by Matej Vydra, who set up Graham Dorrans to score the Baggies second. Cardiff worked their way back into the match but West Brom appeared to have saved their day with a goal in stoppage time from Thievy, but the Bluebirds spoiled the party with a quick equalizer to end things.

Morgan Amalfitano has been a strong fantasy producer thus far but his knee may keep him from an attractive match-up with Crystal Palace in Week 10.

There wasn't much good that came from West Brom's spanking at the hands of Liverpool last weekend. Most of the damage from the match was limited to Saturday but one lingering impact was the loss of Morgan Amalfitano who went out just before halftime with a knee injury. One of the Baggies' best players so far this campaign, his knee injury may keep him out of the match-up with Crystal Palace too. If you're looking for a choice from among the West Brom attackers, I'd take the certainty of Stephane Sessegnon's participation over the chance of the (in my mind) superior Amalfitano maybe playing or maybe not.

West Brom midfielder Morgan Amalfitano came off before halftime against Liverpool and it remains to be seen how sever the injury actually is.

Amalfitano couldn't make the half-time whistle, coming off on 44 minutes for James Morrison. Morrison went on to score West Brom's consolation penalty, but the Baggies will sweat on the fitness of their influential on-loan French midfielder.

Morgan Amalfitano had a goal and an assist in West Brom's huge win at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Amalfitano was extremely cool with the ball at his feet bearing down on David De Gea. The French winger faked a shot causing De Gea to go low and then he lofted the ball calmly over the keeper for the Baggies' opener. After Wayne Rooney's equalizer, Amalfitano was back at it with a sublime touch to set up Saido Berahino to slot home from the top of the box for the final difference. Amalfitano has two goals and an assist in three matches in the Premier League making him one to watch for all fantasy managers.
