Roberto Martinez will not have Christian Atsu available to him when the Toffees host Chelsea on Saturday, due to the loan arrangement with the Blues.
That does not mean that recent departee from Stamford Bridge, Samuel Eto'o won't lace up his boots however. Between he and Romelu Lukaku, there will be plenty of intrigue at Goodison Park as two former Chelsea property will be looking to find the net while a Diego Costa injury scare, one whose severity is yet unknown, leaves the Blues with issues up top. Everton have now finalized a loan agreement with Chelsea for the services of Christian Atsu for one year.

Sound the bargain alarm. It remains to be seen how much pitch time Roberto Martinez will afford Atsu, but he offers a potential upgrade over the likes of Steven Pienaar, whose best days appear to be behind him. At just 4m in the Yahoo game, he has massive upside when/if he establishes himself as a regular in the Toffee XI. Everton and Chelsea have agreed in principle to a loan deal that will send Christian Atsu to Everton for a year.

Chelsea's forward and attacking midfielder spots are filled with superstars from start to finish at the moment and Atsu would have had trouble finding playing time. The situation at Everton is better and Roberto Martinez has persuaded Jose Mourinho that Atsu will have enough playing time. This deal looks to be as good as done but I would not invest in Atsu until it is made official.

Roberto Martinez has reportedly convinced Jose Mourinho that Cristian Atsu will get enough playing time at Goodison Park to make the deal worthwhile for Chelsea.

Atsu's long-anticipated move to Everton had hit a snag in recent days over Jose Mourinho's demand for guaranteed playing time to help his player develop. Roberto Martinez wisely refused a specific guarantee but apparently was able to convince Mourinho that the left-sided midfielder/attacker would see enough time between the Premier League, cup competitions and the Europa League to push the deal through. Confirmation is imminent according to The Mirror.
