Arouna Kone led the charge of an Everton attack that slaughtered the Sunderland defense for six goals, scoring a hat trick and adding an assist.
In a match with too many goals to mention individually, the best way to sum things up is that Everton made the Black Cat defense look like they weren't even on the pitch. Gerard Deulofeu opened the scoring, with Kone feeding him out wide and all alone before slotting home. Deulofeu would later add an assist to his day. The Toffees took a two goal lead but Sunderland managed to equalize early in the second half. Then, Everton put on a training ground clinic. Romelu Lukaku scored in the second half and sent a beautiful cross to Kone for an assist as the latter completed his trick. If you own any of these three weapons in fantasy, you should be sporting a smile for quite some time. What's more, the Toffees have a nice run of fixtures to come. Sun, Nov 1, 2015 10:43:00 AM

Everton have been boosted by the news that the knee injury suffered by Arouna Kone at Loftus Road in GW30 is not serious although the striker remains a doubt for the visit of Southampton next time out.

Roberto Martinez confirmed following the win at QPR that Romelu Lukaku and Arouna Kone had picked up injuries which would need to be assessed although it was the latter who was the greater cause for concern. However following further tests it now looks the hamstring strain suffered by Lukaku could keep him out for around three weeks while Kone may be back within two. Steven Naismith is a potential option having been utilised in a more advanced role previously while Christian Atsu will be hoping for a rare opportunity to shine for the Toffees having managed just one league start since his loan move from Chelsea last summer.

Both Arouna Kone and Darron Gibson are doubts to make another appearance this season according to Roberto Martinez.

Martinez left the window slightly open for Gibson to have a shot at returning but regarding Kone he stated "I don't think we're going to see Arouna this season." So far Martinez's signings from his previous club Wigan have been plagued with injuries as defender Antolin Alcaraz has yet to make an appearance for the Toffees. Nikica Jelavic will be the lone striker to back up Lukaku, at least until the transfer window arrives.

Arouna Kone injured his knee against Hull City which will keep him out for the majority, if not all of the season.

Kone suffered a cartilage problem in his knee, which will require surgery to repair. Everton will now rely even more on the on-loan Romelu Lukaku, and will have to hope that Nikica Jelavic can find some semblance of form in relief.

Having already been labeled a doubt earlier in the week, Arouna Kone has been officially ruled out by Roberto Martinez for Everton's match against Tottenham Hotspur.

According to Everton's official Twitter page, Martinez stated" "Arouna Kone has had a set back. It's more serious than we first thought, so he won't be available for the squad." Without any additional detail, one can only assume the set back involves his knee that was being treated.

Arouna Kone is a doubt for Everton this weekend due to a knee injury as the Toffee's get set to host Tottenham Hotspur.

John Heitinga is also listed as a doubt, but he has not seen action in the Premier League this season. Kone has yet to start a match for Everton this year, with his total pitch time from combined appearances checking in at under 90 minutes. Neither therefore are anywhere near the fantasy radar for now, even if fit.

Roberto Martinez stated in a recent interview that he was impressed with Arouna Kone's contribution during his appearance against Hull City Tigers, saying the Ivorian clearly showed "to be in a good moment of form."

Kone shouldn't present an immediate threat to dethrone Romelu Lukaku by any means, but he has the versatility to be deployed out on the wing, positions currently occupied by Kevin Mirallas and Steven Pienaar when fit. Between those three forward positions, Martinez may look to give Kone a chance to hold down a spot and ride the hot hand, or if nothing else, make a point to feature him more often, rotating him in to give the regulars rest. Fantasy managers will just have to hope they don't invest in Lukaku the week Martinez decides to opt for Kone instead.

Surprisingly, new summer signing Arouna Kone didn't start for Everton in their opener against Norwich City.

Fantasy managers will wonder about Roberto Martinez's rotation after he chose to keep new signing, and his former Wigan charge, Arouna Kone on the bench in favor of Nikica Jelavic. Does this mean that Jelavic is the starter, at least for now? Or will Martinez rotate his forwards until something clicks. This seems likely to be a point of frustration and potential risk for fantasy managers in the short term.

Everton have boosted their strikeforce with the signing of Arouna Kone from Wigan on a three-year deal.

So it didn't take long for Kone to be reunited with his old manager. The Ivory Coast striker scored 13 goals for relegated Wigan under Roberto Martinez last season, impressing many observers with his powerful line-leading displays and he should enjoy feeding off the improved service from the likes of Leighton Baines, Leon Osman, Stephen Pienaar and Kevin Mirallas. The fee is classed as undisclosed, but reports suggest it was around £4.5million, which appears good business for all parties.

Everton with former Wigan manager Roberto Martinez have long been a rumored destination for Arouna Kone and the pace of rumors seems to be picking up with Antolin Alcaraz also throw in for good measure.

This would be a solid-but-not-spectacular first buy for the new Wigan manager. In Kone, he'd be getting a potential lead forward and insurance in case Nikica Jelavic can't rebound in that spot. In Alcaraz he'd be getting an additional aging center back who would fit right in with Sylvain Distin (35) and Phil Jagielka (30). If the price for both is reasonable then this is a nice move to bolster the squad that has some upside if Kone can improve upon his debut season in the Premier League.

Arouna Kone has been linked to a possible move to Norwich City.

Kone, who scored eleven goals for relegated Wigan, has a low buy-out price of just 5 million pounds. He would bring some much needed athleticism and finishing to Norwich, who were one of the Premier League's lowest scoring sides. He's also being linked with a move to Everton, where he would re-join manager Roberto Martinez.

West Brom, who have a Romelu Lukaku-sized hole to fill up top, have been linked to Wigan forward Arouna Kone.

It is unlikely that West Brom will be able to adequately replace everything that Lukaku provided during his loan spell from Chelsea. The more realistic alternative will be to bring in two players who, combined, can replace or improve upon what the Baggies got from Peter Odemwingie and Lukaku last season. Kone showed in his debut season in the Premier League that he has the potential to be part of that solution. This would be a strong move for Steve Clarke if it comes through.
