West Ham have signed defender Aaron Cresswell from Ipswich.

The left-back has been acquired on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee. The 24-year old has every chance of earning a starting job with West Ham as Matt Taylor, George McCartney, and Pablo Armero are all on the way out. The Hammers have had a very respectable defense in the past few years so a starting job for Cresswell could make him a very good fantasy option. Keep an eye out for who is most likely to win the starting job during pre-season matches.

James Rodriguez scored two goals to lead Colombia to a 2-0 win over Uruguay in the round of 16.

Rodriguez's first goal was simply spectacular. He chested the ball and volleyed it into the top corner, a goal that will surely be in the conversation for goal of the tournament. Later on, a Pablo Armero cross found Juan Cuadrado, who brilliantly headed the ball down to James Rodriguez for an easy tap in. After that, Colombia controlled the game and never really looked worried. They will face Brazil in the quarter-finals on Friday, July 4th. All signs are pointing towards a fantastic match. Uruguay, on the other hand, are going home. They couldn't get anything going in attack without the suspended Luis Suarez and will be blaming FIFA for their loss.

Colombia starting XI: Ospina (c), Arias, Armero, Cuadrado, Guarin, Mejia, Balanta, Ramos, Quintero, Martinez, Valdes.

Colombia have chosen to rest two of their most important players in James Rodriguez and Teófilo Gutiérrez in their final group match of this year's World Cup. Colombia have already qualified for the round of 16 and they will win their group unless they lose to Japan and Ivory Coast beats Greece by a combined four goals. Rodriguez and Gutierrez have been huge for Colombia and will be fresh going ahead.

Colombia defeated the Ivory Coast to make it to the round of 16 of the World Cup.

Colombia scored through James Rodriguez and substitute Juan Quintero in what was a fantastic game against the Ivory Coast. James Rodriguez scored off a Juan Cuadrado corner kick while Quintero netted a beautiful goal on the counter-attack. Minutes later, ex-Arsenal player Gervinho scored a fantastic solo goal to bring the Ivory Coast within one. Ivory Coast pressed attack after attack but couldn't equalize the score. Colombia are almost guaranteed to be top of the group and are definitely going to the round of 16.

Fresh off his loan spell at West Ham United, Pablo Armero put Colombia up early with the opening goal and it would prove to be the game-winner as they cruise past Greece 3-0.

Armero was allowed the freedom to bomb forward from the opening whistle and it payed dividends. The Colombian attack was frenetic in the final third, and a well timed cross met an unmarked Armero who finished. Once Colombia were up 2-0, he was subbed off for more defensive minded fullback. He never had a chance to utilize his attacking skills during his brief stay at West Ham, but they were on full display today. James Rodriguez was the man of the match and was rewarded with a goal in the waning moments.

Pablo Armero failed to take advantage of his starting opportunity as he was at fault in the match's key moment as he conceded a penalty to Cameron Jerome that Mile Jedinak conceded.

Deputizing for George McCarthy, Pablo Armero had been solid. An interesting option for fantasy managers given his low price over the last couple of weeks, the defender showed why he was so cheap when he conceded a penalty to Cameron Jerome. When Armero's West Ham teammates failed to score it turned the defender's error into the decisive event of the match. Given the outcome, it seems likely that George McCarthy will get the next start.

Pablo Armero has earned another start despite George McCartney's return to the squad.

We don't know if Armero is starting because of McCartney's fitness or if he impressed Sam Allardyce enough last week to deserve another start. As of mid-game, Armero is worth £ 1.97M in fantasy and worth picking up due to potential upside. The full-back likes to join the attack and West Ham's stellar defense can help him be a good fantasy option if he can continue starting in the future.

Pablo Armero will likely start against Liverpool and only costs £ 1M in the Yahoo Fantasy game.

Armero replaced George McCartney at halftime last time out and with McCartney ruled out for this game through injury, Armero is in line to get a start. If he starts, it will be his first Premier League start. In two games off the bench, Armero hasn't registered a fantasy point as of yet, but at £ 1M, he is a great bench option for the week. He is known for being a good attacking player and he has high upside considering the low price.

West Ham sign Napoli wing-back, Pablo Armero, on loan to the end of the season.

Left-back has been a trouble spot for West Ham this season. Joey O'Brien is out with a shoulder injury, Razvan Rat has been released, and George McCartney hasn't convinced. They've taken a gamble on Armero, who is more of an attacking player, and who has played for several years in a 3-5-2 system. Because of that attacking pedigree, he may be an interesting fantasy option.
