West Ham have picked up Ricardo Vaz Te's one year contract extension and he will remain with the club until the summer of 2015.
Vaz Te has been dealing with a long term shoulder injury but is expected to return to the squad anywhere from one to three weeks from now. West Ham are desperate for attacking power and his return should be a nice addition to the squad. Fri, Jan 3, 2014 01:44:00 PM

Ricardo Vaz Te has been given a timeline of about 12 weeks for the dislocated shoulder he suffered last week.

Vaz Te had asked for a transfer earlier this season because of a lack of playing time but he was able to get more time as of recently because of West Ham's offensive struggles. This is yet another blow for the Hammers as their only healthy forward right now is Carlton Cole, who just recently returned to West Ham and is working on getting his fitness back. Don't be surprised if West Ham go without a striker once again this weekend.

Ricardo Vaz Te, who had been a the key player in West Ham's "strikerless" formation of late, dislocated his shoulder against Swansea.

Vaz Te is likely out for several months now, and West Ham will be stretched even thinner in attack. They can call on Carlton Cole, but it is telling that it was Matt Jarvis who came on for Vaz Te at the weekend.

After trailing by two goals, Ricardo Vaz Te brought West Ham United back into the match with a goal in the 58th minute, but the Hammers' rally ended there and they fell 1-3 to Manchester City.

Don't look now, but Vaz Te has two goals in two games, the only two games he has started this season. His goal came on an overhead kick that left the Manchester City defense stunned. With Andy Carroll still out and this current run of form, Vaz Te should feel his spot in the XI is safe, but despite his recent contributions, he makes for a shaky fantasy play.

Ricardo Vaz Te scored an 88th minute goal in a 3-2 win over Cardiff to put West Ham in the last of 16 round of the Capital One Cup.

Last time we heard Vaz Te's name, he wanted a transfer out of West Ham because of a lack of playing time. Vaz Te has a point as he's been a scoring machine in preseason and cup games but hasn't earned much playing time in the competition that matters most - the Premier League. Expect him to remain on the bench for the majority of Premier League games unless Sam Allardyce has an unexpected change of mind. Ravel Morrison looked extremely impressive once again and also scored a goal - he should feature more regularly in both competitions.

West Ham winger Ricardo Vaz Te has submitted a transfer request and has stated he is frustrated at his current club.

Vaz Te was a main piece to the West Ham team that earned promotion a few years ago, but quickly lost his spot once the team in the Premier League. He was asked to switch positions but now finds himself behind Joe Cole, Stewart Downing, and Matt Jarvis on the depth chart. He has a year left at Upton Park, but he could be leaving sooner if someone is interested.
