The rumors surrounding a Manchester City move for Hector Bellerin will only multiply after Bacary Sagna was ruled out for a month.
Reports claim Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has lined up Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin as one of his top targets for the year ahead, with current right-backs Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta over 30 and seen to be in the twilight of their careers. Zabaleta is expected to continue to start for Manchester City while 19-year-old Pablo Maffeo could also be called into action. Sagna has already missed three weeks this season with a hamstring injury and is now expected to miss two Champions League matches and three league matches due to another hamstring tear. Manchester City could be without Bacary Sagna once again after the defender suffered a hamstring injury while with France.

The Manchester City right-back started France's World Cup qualifier with Bulgaria on Friday, where he gave up the penalty that led to Bulgaria's only goal. But Sagna, who has already missed three weeks this season with a hamstring problem, was forced to leave the match after just 27 minutes after pulling up with the injury, which is expected to keep him out of the club's upcoming matches with Everton and Barcelona in Champions League. Said Sagna after the match: "Before the penalty I accelerated and I think I've torn it a little bit, I'll have exams tomorrow. I do not know if it's serious."

Bacary Sagna has declared himself fit for Saturdays Manchester derby after recovering from "a little" hamstring tear.

Sagna was speaking to CityTV ahead of the early kick off at Old Trafford and the right-back is hoping to give Pep Guardiola a selection headache following his recovery from the muscular problem which has kept him side-lined for the past month. Sagna plans to give it his "maximum" in training to ensure the City boss has "some choices" but following their impressive start to the campaign, Guardiola may not want to tinker with his side too much after taking maximum points from the first three-games. Claudio Bravo will train with his new teammates for the first time on Thursday and a decision on his involvement will be taken after his fitness has been assessed, while those arriving back late from international duty also need to be checked.

Bacary Sagna has hailed new Manchester City signing Nolito believing his "superior" technical qualities will make him a success in the Premier League.

The £14million arrival from Spanish side Celta Vigo is Pep Guardiola’s second major City signing following the addition of German international Ilkay Gundogan who joined from Borussia Dortmund on a four-year deal. Nolito spent three seasons at Os Celestes scoring 39 times in 100 La Liga appearances before agreeing to re-join his former manager [he played under Guardiola at Barcelona from 2008-2011, although much of his time was spent with the Catalans’ B side]. Nolito started all four of Spain's matches at Euro 2016, scoring once against Turkey, and his performances caught the eye of new team-mate Sagna: "He's going to bring a lot to the team," he said. "He has some qualities and technique that are superior to other players He has had a very good season and did an excellent Euro with Spain. He signed for a reason and I am very pleased about this."

Manchester City is closing on a return to full strength with the return of Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy to the matchday squad.

The injury news comes at the best possible time ahead of the club's Champions League semifinal on Tuesday against Real Madrid. In fact, the club will have a completely fit side considering the only injury following the return of Vincent Kompany and Raheem Sterling is to Samir Nasri, who is not even on the Champions League roster. Both Sagna and Clichy missed a disappointing midweek draw with Newcastle due to back complaints as Aleksandar Kolarov and Pablo Zabaleta started in their place.

Manchester City will have to do without Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy for Tuesday's match against Newcastle after the pair picked up back injuries.

Sagna came on in the 67th minute for Pablo Zabaleta, who was on a yellow card, in the club's 3-0 win against Chelsea over the weekend but Clichy was absent due to the minor injury. Manager Manuel Pellegrini did not give a timetable for their return but the club will look to have the duo fit to face Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals next week. In their absences, Pablo Zabaleta and Aleksandar Kolarov are expected to start just as they did this past weekend while Vincent Kompany is fit to return.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed the club will rely heavily on its youth corps against Chelsea in the FA Cup on Sunday due to a growing injury list.

The manager issued a bit of good news as Bacary Sagna has returned to training from a minor knee injury that kept him out of the loss to Spurs in Week 26, but the club's current injuries will force the Chilean's hand with a Champions League fixture this week: "We have just 13 players available to play - we have to play Champions League on Wednesday - we’ll see the best team we can play on Sunday. Young players have the option and they must take their chances." Pellegrini also confirmed that Wilfried Bony is set for a return to training but will need at least another week to recover from a calf injury.

Manchester City are sweating on the fitness of Bacary Sagna after the French full-back was forced off during the friendly win over Serbia.

Sagna picked up an ankle problem in the first half on Monday night and the 32 year-old was seen icing his lower leg having failed to emerge for the second forty-five. Sagna is enjoying a good run in the City first team at present and with team mate Pablo Zabaleta sidelined for around a month [knee injury] time out now would be a blow to both the player and club. Should the injury prove to be serious Manuel Pellegrini may be forced into playing new signing Nicolas Otamendi on the right as a temporary measure given their lack of [experienced] options.

In a move that has been widely expected for some time, Bacary Sagna has officially joined reigning champions Manchester City on a three year contract.

Manchester City already have a very good right back in Pablo Zabaleta but he is aging and today the Citizens added some competition/cover for the Argentinean in the form of former Arsenal right back Bacary Sagna. The French international comes to City on a free transfer and will ensure that City aren't left in the lurch if Zabaleta goes down. If you're thinking that this means that City are getting younger at the position, think again. Despite his hairline, Zabaleta is actually two years younger than Sagna. This doesn't necessarily make City's starting eleven better but it does make them deeper and probably means Micah Richards is not officially on the market.

The parade of Arsenal players leaving for the riches of Manchester City looks set to continue with Bacary Sagna heavily linked with a free transfer to the newly crowned champions.

Bacary Sagna looks set to join Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri as high profile Gunners who have left the club for a bigger payday and increased chance at silverware with Manchester City. Despite a strong season, Arsenal have been reluctant to offer the French right back the big, multi-season deal he thinks he deserves. Arsenal's rumored offer is in the two year/£80,000 week neighborhood while City are rumored to be willing to offer four seasons and £150,000 week in wages. Hard to argue with a free agent who takes the bigger offer from the reigning champions if the rumors are accurate.

France international Bacary Sagna expected to sign a new two-year contract with Arsenal worth £70,000-a-week.

In a way this eliminates two birds with one stone. Arsenal will not be in the market for a right full-back and no one will be taking Sagna away from the Gunners anytime soon either. Manager Arsene Wenger said that the deal could be decided sometime within next two weeks. Sagna's current contract expired at the end of the season and Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City have all reportedly expressed interest. The talented 30-year old has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury, but there's a 50% chance he'll be in the lineup this week against the Blues at Etihad Stadium.

Bacary Sagna has missed out on two consecutive Premier League matches and isn't certain to return for Arsenal's critical trip to the Etihad on Saturday.

It is difficult to place any value on either Sagna or Carl Jenkinson with the quality of the opponent combined with the uncertainty over which of the two right backs will start. Seems like a wise choice to steer well clear of either of these two for Week 16.

Bacary Sagna continues to nurse the hamstring issue that caused him to miss Arsenal's Week 14 win over Hull and it will cause him to miss Week 15 vs. Everton as well.

With the French right back sidelined against for the match against Everton, Carl Jenkinson will be tasked with containing Steven Pienaar and Bryan Oviedo the latter of whom has scored twice in two starts since coming in for the injured Leighton Baines. Jenkinson made his own contribution against Hull doing his part in Arsenal keeping another clean sheet and also providing a nice cross for Nicklas Bendtner's goal. Sagna should at least be in contention for Week 16 but more on that as it draws closer.

Bacary Sagna and Olivier Giroud both came on as late substitutes in France's huge World Cup qualifying win against Ukraine on Wednesday.

With Mathieu Debuchy playing well for club and country, Bacary Sagna is unlikely to be a starter for France in Brazil. The prognosis for Olivier Giroud is less clear. Karim Benzema scored in the win and has now scored in three of his last four qualifiers but his overall performances and the quality of the opposition against which he scored opens the door for Giroud to start ahead of the Real Madrid man. Giroud's production for Arsenal has slowed down since his blazing start but he is still among the more productive forwards in the Premier League and if he continues to maintain that status for the entire season he may eclipse Benzema in the starting line-up. Regardless, given the 2-0 deficit France faced heading into the match, both players will be thrilled to be going to Brazil as participants.
