Despite recent rumors that the former Newcastle and Hull City player might choose Leicester City, Hatem Ben Arfa has chosen to remain in Ligue Un and sign with PSG.
Whether Leicester City were ever really that close to signing Hatem Ben Arfa isn't clear, he's more high profile than their usual targets. Perhaps their new-found status as champions has changed things but look for the Foxes to buy an attacking player that few people have heard of and for that player to work out fantastically. Ben Arfa (age 27) had a loan deal with Hull City brought to an early end and his contract at Newcastle terminated before signing an 18-month deal with Nice.

Ben Arfa, who started his career at Lyon, returns to his homeland four-and-a-half years after leaving Marseille to move to St James' Park. He scored 13 goals in 76 league appearances for the Magpies but when Hull manager Steve Bruce ended a loan deal early in December, a route back to Tyneside was not on offer and his Newcastle contract was terminated on January 4.

Hatem Ben Arfa hasn't had a lot of opportunity since arriving at Hull City and when he got a chance he came off injured early.

Ben Arfa's presence or absence probably didn't make a bit of difference as Hull City were outclassed from the get go. United's early waves of attack failed to find the net but Curtis Davies and company couldn't stem the tide forever as Manchester United scored three and it felt like it could have been more. Hull City have to worry about the threat of relegation if they continue to play as poorly as they have been in recent weeks.

New Hull City midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa is unlikely to feature in Week 4 over concerns about his match fitness.

It seems surprising some two weeks after his signing that the French winger is not yet fit to participate for Hull City but Friday brought news that neither Ben Arfa nor fellow new signing Gaston Ramirez is likely to participate in Week 4. Ben Arfa was reportedly relegated from first team contact at Newcastle but it doesn't speak highly of the player that six weeks from the commencement of meaningful pre-season matches he hasn't trained sufficiently to be ready for his Hull City debut. For other players this might not be as big a concern but given Ben Arfa's reputation for a poor attitude at Newcastle, this bears watching.

Hull City have completed a move for Newcastle midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa.

The midfielder will be at Hull until the end of the season. That completes a very good transfer window for Hull, who have also signed Gaston Ramirez, Mohamed Diame, and Abel Hernandez today. Ben Arfa was great for Newcastle last season and is almost guaranteed to start at Hull. He is an exciting player who can create and finish chances and will be an interesting fantasy option in a revamped Hull City team.

Hatem Ben Arfa, out of favor at Newcastle for a year or more, may be offered a chance at a fresh start by Roberto Martinez and Everton.

Everton are reportedly considering adding the former French phenom to their squad in addition to Chelsea's Cristian Atsu. Bringing in the two creative players would be a nice boost to the squad's depth heading into the Europa League. Given the rumors surrounding the Atsu move one wonders if the capture of Ben Arfa would anger Jose Mourinho who is looking for his player to get a lot of playing time. HBA would also be a risk for Everton given his likely salary requirements, injury history and recent poor form.

Hatem Ben Arfa was left behind in Newcastle after not being selected to travel with the club to face Arsenal tomorrow. "The manager didnt pick me in the group to go in london for the game against arsenal but it s not problème hope my team will win in émirat stadium to make our fans happy".

Ben Arfa has been struggling with injury, but it's still surprising that he wasn't even taken to London. As surprising as learning that players break news on Instgram now.

Hatem Ben Arfa has a knock and will not feature for Newcastle against Hull City.

Ben Arfa was expected to take up the creative burden from Yohan Cabaye, but has been pretty anonymous this season - before or after the transfer window. Newcastle have scored one goal in a month, a late winner against Aston Villa, and will continue to rely on Loic Remy for goals.

Hatem Ben Arfa has been an unused substitute against Chelsea and Spurs - matches that Newcastle has surprising won. Now he's willing to play anywhere, save for keeper, to get back on the pitch.

Ben Arfa will surely have a role with this team soon enough. He's too talented to freeze out completely. But for the moment, the pairing of Loic Remy and Shola Ameobi is working for Newcastle and they will likely continue together against Norwich City.

Hatem Ben Arfa scored his second goal in as many games, with a tap in at the 18 minute mark, helping Newcastle to a 1-2 win at Villa Park.

Ben Arfa continues to show his knack for goal, pouncing on a ball that was delivered into the box and landed at his foot for an easy score. He also was responsible for assisting Newcastle's winner. After beginning the season with difficulty finding the net, Newcastle are beginning to show some attacking threat and Ben Arfa is the orchestrator. Investment should be heavy with a home match against Hull City up next.

Hatem Ben Arfa finally gets Newcastle going, scoring their first goal of the season in a 1-0 victory over Fulham.

Ben Arfa scored perhaps the most beautiful goal of the day, dancing around defenders in the box and curling a left-footed beauty into the top left corner of goal. When fit, the Frenchman is one of the most dangerous players on the ball in the PL, capable of carving through defenses and finishing on a regular basis. If Newcastle can bolster their attacking options before the transfer deadline, it can only help Ben Arfa's fantasy prospects for the season.

Hatem Ben Arfa could be sold by Newcastle United if they think his sale will fund other transfers.

Ben Arfa is on relatively low wages, and will want to re-negotiate his deal soon. The new power structure at the club is unlikely to take kindly to that and may decide to cash in on the player sooner rather than later.

Hatem Ben Arfa has emerged as a target in Monaco's Russian revolution.

Newcastle struggled without Ben Arfa for much of last season, but could be hard pressed to say no to Monaco's millions. While there are capable players like Sylvain Marveaux in the side, the Magpies would definitely need to reinvest whatever they earn for Ben Arfa in another top-quality creative player.

Newcastle have been linked to out-of-contract Auxerre midfielder, Steven Langil.

Langil would join the large French contingent at Newcastle, and would compete with countrymen Hatem Ben Arfa, Sylvain Marveaux, Yoann Gouffran, and Gabriel Obertan (not to mention Jonas Gutierrez) for the wide midfield spots.
