Enner Valencia could miss up to three months with a knee and ankle injury.
Valencia hurt both his knee and ankle in West Ham's friendly last week and will miss significant time. He won't need surgery, which is a plus, but 12 weeks is a long time to miss at the beginning of the season. West Ham can't catch a break with injuries in the past few seasons and this one hurts as much as any they've suffered in recent years. Look for Diafra Sakho to step up while Valencia is out. Enner Valencia has suffered a serious injury to his knee and and ankle during the club's Europa League match on Thursday.

Valencia has undergone evaluation by the club doctors and they have determined the injury is very serious. The forward will see a specialist in central London on Monday to determine the exact extent of the injury but it doesn't look like he'll be back anytime soon. Enner Valencia injured his knee in the West Ham's match against Astra Giurgiu today and will have a scan on Friday.

Hammers manager Slaven Bilic added that the injury "doesn't look good" and that may mean Valencia misses an extended amount of time. West Ham can't catch a break from injuries and they've now got two strikers who are bound to be on the bench to start the season between Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia. If Valencia misses extended time, Diafra Sakho and Dimitri Payet gain fantasy value as they're almost guaranteed to play consistently.

West Ham forward Enner Valencia continued to produce for Ecuador as he scored the winner against Mexico in Group A play.

Valencia was only ok for West Ham United last season but when he puts on the Ecuador shirt, he's a star. He scored his second in three Copa America group stage matches. His efforts weren't enough to see Ecuador through to the knock out stage but it was enough to eliminate Mexico.

West Ham forward Enner Valencia flashed the quality for Ecuador that got him his move to Upton Park after the World Cup but he couldn't get Ecuador a win as the went bottom of their Copa America group.

Bolivia are something of a surprise package at this summer's Copa America sitting atop Group A tied with host nation Chile. They moved into that spot by tying Mexico in their opening round and then beating Educador 3-2 yesterday. Featuring a team of almmost all domestic league players, Bolivia beat an Ecuador team boasting Valencia, Jefferson Montero of Swansea and Juan Carlos Paredas of Watford. A shocking result to be sure.

Enner Valencia is available once again after recovering from a toe injury.

The striker has played well enough to likely be brought back into the starting lineup but his fantasy impact has been limited so it is probably better to use a more in-form player this weekend. Valencia is an option to be used in deeper draft-leagues, but there are better values to be had in the Yahoo! Fantasy Games. Check out Nik's player picks for recommendations at the striker position(linked below).

Enner Valencia is doubtful for gameweek 31 with a toe injury.

Valencia is training is the group again but Sam Allardyce doesn't believe he is going to be fit enough to face Leicester City this weekend. Valencia hasn't been as good as we expected in fantasy and there are better options on West Ham's squad. Diafra Sakho is once again a great fantasy option as he'll lead the Hammers line against Leicester and has a 6/4 odds to score anytime with 9/1 odds to score a brace.

West Ham are facing a striker crisis with the news that Enner Valencia has been ruled out of this weekends’ contest at the Emirates following a freak domestic accident.

The Ecuadorian international stepped on a broken tea cup leaving Valencia with a deep laceration which required immediate hospital attention and stitches. The striker now joins Andy Carroll and Carlton Cole on the sidelines leaving Diafra Sakho and Nene as the only fit forwards – although the Brazilian himself isn’t 100% as Allardyce confirmed Anderson Luis de Carvalho has been undergoing "intense training" as he looks to regain match-fitness following his release from Al Gharafa. Alex Song [knee] will be assessed but should be okay while Carl Jenkinson won’t be able to face his parent club under the terms of his loan deal and Winston Reid [hamstring] is targeting a return in GW30 – Joey O’Brien and James Collins are the likely benefactors.

West Ham United watched an even match turn one-sided as Crystal Palace would score three goals in the span of 22 minutes and the Hammers could only counter with a goal from Enner Valencia in a 1-3 loss.

West Ham are usually a tough nut to crack at Upton Park, especially from clubs in the lower half of the table, but Palace really had them disorganized for a large chunk of the match, scoring three times in a 22 minute stretch. The lone goal came too late from Valencia, who was fed by Stewart Downing just outside the box and he blasted one past Julian Speroni. The score saved fantasy days for these two and Aaron Cresswell was lucky to avoid an own goal, but otherwise a disappointing outcome for them here.

Enner Valencia is still dealing with a minor knock and will likely miss this weekend's match against Newcastle.

In Valencia's absence, Andy Carroll will likely draw another start as he successfully played 90 minutes last time out. Carroll is very injury prone but he may be worth a look in some leagues as he comes with a very low price tag. Valencia's injury shouldn't keep him out long and we can see him back on the pitch as soon as next week.

Enner Valencia stepped up to our challenge for producing more fantasy points in games where he doesn't score.

Valencia picked up an assist on the way to 12 Yahoo! fantasy points this week in West Ham's win over Manchester City. The Ecuadorian striker also had a shot on target, four fouls won, and a corner won. This is the type of production that makes good fantasy players into great fantasy players and Valencia's value is certainly looking up right now. He was very active today and his relationship with Diafra Sakho has been growing. Don't be afraid to use him at his price tag of £ 7.73M.

Enner Valencia scored his second Premier League goal over the weekend, showing fans why West Ham brought him in over the summer.

The popular signing has had a relatively quiet season so far but showed what the hype is all about this weekend with a goal. We expect Valencia to score more than once every four games(current rate), but the problem we have is that the striker doesn't contribute many points outside of goals. Good fantasy players return points even without scoring, and Valencia needs to step it up in that regard to become a better asset. With that in mind, at £ 6.99M, he could be a great differential play against lesser teams.

Enner Valencia scored his first Premier League goal with a stunning strike from deep range and the Hammers erased two deficits to grab a point on the road in a 2-2 draw with Hull City.

After impressing on a global stage in this summer's World Cup, Valencia showed today just how dangerous and special he is. Down 1-0 in the 50th minute, he took a nonchalant pass from Stewart Downing, dribbled methodically to his right, then fired a 25 yard cannon into the top corner which could not have been struck any harder. An own goal by Hull's Curtis Davies would give the Hammers it's second equalizer as the two sides played to an exciting draw. It's pretty clear the path to scoring for West Ham right now is the link between Downing and Valencia. Both are viable fantasy options in plus matchups right now.

Enner Valencia should provide West Ham a big boost in attack as he returns to full fitness.

Valencia had struggled to get fully fit after the World Cup this summer but is now back at full fitness and should help West Ham in attack. The Hammers have once again been horrific going forward but Valencia has the finishing touch needed to get them some goals. If Mauro Zarate continues playing well and Valencia gets in form, West Ham may finally have a decent attack. We wouldn't bank on either of them in fantasy until goals happen.

Still recovering from his World Cup exertions, Enner Valencia is likely to miss the Hammers' first two Premier League matches of the season.

With Andy Carroll already a long term absentee, the news that big summer signing Enner Valencia will also miss the club's first two matches because he is short on fitness is a big blow. West Ham have had a controversial summer with rumors of Sam Alardyce's head being on the chopping block and front office disagreements over transfer policy. Valencia was one sliver of good news over the summer and even that now comes with fitness concerns. Not a good start for the Hammers and Big Sam.
