West Ham have confirmed that Enner Valencia has joined Mexican top-flight club Tigres for an undisclosed fee.
Valencia joined West Ham for £12m from Liga MX side Pachuca in 2014 but failed to establish himself over three seasons in east London, during which he found the net just 10 times in 66 appearances. The 27-year-old spent last season on loan at Everton with the option to make his stay at Goodison Park permanent, but the Toffees opted against activating the clause following his return of three goals in 23 appearances. The Ecuadorian international's departure coincides with reports that West Ham are preparing another swoop for Stoke City attacker Marko Arnautovic. Thu, Jul 13, 2017 02:51:00 PM

West Ham United have turned down an offer from Mexican top-flight side Tigres for Enner Valencia.

While the Hammers rejected the initial approach by Tigres, the club are keen to offload the forward and remain hopeful a deal can be worked out. The 27-year-old joined West Ham from Mexican outfit Pachuca for £12.5m in 2014 after shining for Ecuador at the World Cup in Brazil, but struggled to make an impact in East London and spent 2016/17 on loan at Everton after being deemed surplus by manager Slaven Bilic. Valencia managed to score just three goals in 23 appearances during his spell at Goodison Park and the Toffees opted to not activate the option to make his move permanent at the end of last season. With West Ham expected to sign one or two new forwards this summer, it seems a forgone conclusion Valencia's days at the London Stadium are over.

Sources close to Enner Valencia have claimed West Ham are ready to sell the forward to Liga MX outfit UANL.

The 27-year-old spent last season out on loan at Everton, but the Toffees opted to not make his move permanent after he managed just five starts and three goals in 16 Premier Leagues. As a result the Ecuador international returned to West Ham, however, he might not be there for too long. The Hammers actively are reportedly shopping Valencia, who signed with West Ham from Pachuca in 2014 for a transfer fee of £12 million, in order to release his wages and generate further funds for manager Slaven Bilic's summer transfer plans. Speaking to West Ham news outlet Claret & Hugh, sources close to Valencia said: "There’s absolutely no chance of him [Valencia] finding a place in Slaven Bilic’s plans now and various plans are being looked into. Tigres is just one of them but the Chinese option is alive."

Everton made a last-minute move to bolster its frontline with a season-long loan for West Ham forward Enner Valencia.

The Toffees can make the move permanent with a £14.5 million option to buy at the end of the season, although it remains unclear what Valencia's role will be. The club already has Ross Barkley and Kevin Mirallas providing support for Romelu Lukaku, not to mention new signing Yannick Bolasie on the wing with Gerard Deulofeu and Aaron Lennon also fighting for playing time. To make room for Valencia, the club confirmed the loan of Aiden McGeady to Preston North End for the season while Shani Tarashaj joined Eintracht Frankfurt on loan.

The agent of West Ham's Enner Valencia confirmed that the forward is set to hold talks to leave the club this summer.

The agent, Gonzalo Vargas, also said that Serie A side Lazio have made an initial move for the 26-year-old, who struggled to beat out Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho for a starting role last season and will now have to compete with new signings Gokhan Tore and Sofiane Feghouli. Said Vargas: "He wants to leave, although he is not making an obsession out of it because, unlike some reports, he does have a good relationship both with the coach and with his teammates. He wants to play at the top - in Italy, Spain or England - and the decision over his future will be determined 100 per cent by sporting elements and not economic ones."

Ecuador fought back after falling behind by two goals, but the United States were able to hang on to their lead, sending their opponents home in a 2-1 win for the US.

The two Valencias, Enner and Antonio, who were so dynamic in Ecuador's thrashing of Haiti in the final group stage match for the Ecuadorians were kept at bay today by the Americans. Swansea's Jefferson Montero had their best chance in the first half but his scoop shot landed above the bar. Watford's Juan Carlos Paredes and the Ecuador defense meanwhile were beaten twice while Antonio Valencia was sent off for a second yellow after a cynical foul. When the game went to ten-a-side, it was to Ecuador's advantage as the Americans looked fatigued. Michael Arroyo pulled one back by scoring from a free kick in the 74th minute and Ecuador looked like they would find an equalizer. Enner Valencia had a couple of good chances go astray though and the US managed to escape the victors.

Ecuador advanced to the knockout stages of the Copa America with a 4-0 win against Haiti in the final group stage match.

In fact, Ecuador may have gotten the better of the draw despite finishing second behind Peru with the U.S. lined up as their quarterfinal opponent from the corresponding group rather than Colombia. West Ham forward Enner Valencia and Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia led the charge with a goal apiece on either side of half-time to help Ecuador finish ahead of Brazil, who drop out of the tournament following a 1-0 loss to group winners Peru. Enner Valencia put on a show following comments that he would be willing to leave West Ham to head to La Liga following a down year marred by injuries.

West Ham striker Enner Valencia is a major doubt for Saturdays’ early kick-off against Sunderland after Slaven Bilic revealed the Ecuadorian has met with a specialist to determine the extent of his ankle injury.

The Hammers boss was talking ahead of his sides’ game on Saturday: "Valencia has seen a specialist. We will know in the next few days if he has a part to play in the next week." However, the blow has been softened somewhat by the news that Andy Carroll will return to the squad after overcoming the minor groin problem which kept him out of the FA Cup win over Blackburn Rovers. James Tomkins and Joey O'Brien are both working on their rehab: "It will be a couple more weeks before they can start training again." Diafra Sakho and Winston Reid have trained this week but game week twenty-seven could come too early although they "will play their part in a busy schedule."

West Ham have confirmed that following a specialist appointment Enner Valencia will be side-lined until the beginning of the New Year.

Valencia was introduced for the injured Dimitri Payet - against Everton at the Boleyn Ground [GW12] - in only his second Premier League game of the season having missed almost three months due to an ankle ligament injury. However, the Ecuadorian striker lasted less than twenty minutes after a strong [but fair] Seamus Coleman challenge left the 26-year-old requiring a stretcher following an injury to his right ankle. Valencia has played only 67 minutes of Premier League football this season and will target a return in early January. Payet may need surgery on the [ankle] injury he sustained during the same game, although regardless the Frenchman will still miss at least 3-months.

Slaven Bilic remains "optimistic" that the injuries suffered by Dimitri Payet and Enner Valencia are not serious and hopes the pair can be available for the trip to White Hart Lane in game week thirteen.

Payet eventually succumbed to injury in the 50th minute after labouring through the game following an X-rated James McCarthy scissor tackle which earned the Everton midfielder a yellow card midway through the first half. While Valencia was on the receiving end of a solid [but fair] Seamus Coleman challenge which the left the Ecuadorian requiring a stretcher, although in fairness, the 26-year-old did not appear to be in too much discomfort. "Until the scans nobody knows long they will be out for, hopefully they will be okay for Spurs," said Bilic.

Enner Valencia could start in week 10 after missing extended time with a knee injury.

Valencia played with the under-21s on Monday and scored in his return. His fitness levels are probably not good enough for a full 90 minutes and his matchup isn't ideal, so we would advise not rostering him in any fantasy games this weekend. He could become an option after this week in deep leagues.

Enner Valencia's rehab is going as planned and David Gold expects him to return in October.

West Ham United have confirmed that Valencia is still on track to return in October after the striker had made some rash comments about the club's treatment of him a week ago. It seems the two sides have patched up their differences but West Ham have signed a number of new attacking additions once again this off-season and Valencia will face a challenge for playing time once he returns to action.

Enner Valencia could miss up to three months with a knee and ankle injury.

Valencia hurt both his knee and ankle in West Ham's friendly last week and will miss significant time. He won't need surgery, which is a plus, but 12 weeks is a long time to miss at the beginning of the season. West Ham can't catch a break with injuries in the past few seasons and this one hurts as much as any they've suffered in recent years. Look for Diafra Sakho to step up while Valencia is out.

Enner Valencia has suffered a serious injury to his knee and and ankle during the club's Europa League match on Thursday.

Valencia has undergone evaluation by the club doctors and they have determined the injury is very serious. The forward will see a specialist in central London on Monday to determine the exact extent of the injury but it doesn't look like he'll be back anytime soon. Check back next week for an update on his timeline.

Enner Valencia injured his knee in the West Ham's match against Astra Giurgiu today and will have a scan on Friday.

Hammers manager Slaven Bilic added that the injury "doesn't look good" and that may mean Valencia misses an extended amount of time. West Ham can't catch a break from injuries and they've now got two strikers who are bound to be on the bench to start the season between Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia. If Valencia misses extended time, Diafra Sakho and Dimitri Payet gain fantasy value as they're almost guaranteed to play consistently.
