Chelsea have agreed to sell Felipe Luis back to Atletico Madrid according to Sky Sources.
Jose Mourinho said earlier that Luis can be sold if Atletico are willing to pay and it seems the right price was around £15.0m. That's £800,000 less than what Chelsea paid for him last summer, which is not a huge price to pay for a year of his services. Luis never broke through the rotation and spent most of the season sitting behind Cesar Azpilicueta. He made several starts and had a number of appearances off the bench but was never the first option at Chelsea and the club has decided there are better ways to spend the £15.0m they are getting for him. Mourinho has said he will look at the transfer market for another backup player at the position. Jul 20 - 3:38 PM

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Chelsea will begin their BPL title defence with at least three players missing as Juan Cuadrado, Felipe Luis and Willian are given additional time to recover due to their impending participation in this summer’s Copa America.

Representing Colombia and Brazil respectively the trio will be afforded extra time away rather than being rushed back into pre-season training to help minimise fatigue related injury and burn-out. With the tournament running until July a return in early September is realistic although Chelsea do have options. Only Willian has featured regularly and, if fit, Oscar could come into the side as his replacement. Azpilicueta is the preferred choice at full-back while Cuadrado has failed to live up-to his expensive price tag since moving from Fiorentina in January.

There are multiple rumors floating around about Chelsea offering Felipe Luis plus cash for Atletico Madrid star Koke.

Koke would be a great fit in Chelsea's midfield and Luis hasn't really played much this season behind Cesar Azpilicueta. Luis shut down the rumors shortly after they came out but players often refute rumors until they become official. If he stays in the Premier League, Luis doesn't have any fantasy value as he's stuck behind Azpilicueta in the rotation. He's also set to miss the start of the season due to participation in the Copa America.

Felipe Luis has recovered from his injury and will be available for selection this weekend.

Luis was dealing with an injury recently but has recovered and was on the bench in the Champions League in midweek. If Branislav Ivanovic is forced to miss the weekend match, Luis could come in and start against Burnley in what will be a terrific matchup. Jose Mourinho has avoided resting Ivanovic this year and last, but watch the starting lineups tomorrow in case he decides to be careful in what should be an easy win.

Filipe Luis will miss Saturday's game vs Aston Villa due to injury.

Filipe Luis is still struggling with a calf problem, but Chelsea have plenty of cover with Branislav Ivanovic and Cesar Azpilicueta both fit.

Filipe Luis will continue at left back for Chelsea's home match with QPR, making him an excellent defensive option for your fantasy team.

With Cesar Azpilicueta serving the final match of his ban after the red card picked up against the Palace in Week Eight, we can be certain that Filipe Luis will take the left-back spot for his side's home match against Queens Park Rangers. The Brazilian defender is the most affordable way to cover the potential Chelsea clean sheet, available at a shade over £7million, and will be desperate to impress Jose Mourinho in an effort to keep his place for Week Eleven.

New signing Felipe Luis is struggling to find playing time at Chelsea.

The defender was brought in to strengthen Chelsea's defense but he hasn't been able to break into the starting XI with Branislav Ivanovic and Cesar Azpilicueta playing very well. There is also the fact that Luis has had problems getting fit after joining the squad late in the summer, but we don't believe he will establish a fully consistent role with the club this season. The most likely scenario is a time-share between him, Ivanovic, and Azpilicueta.

Felipe Luis made his Chelsea debut in a friendly 1-1 draw against WAC RZ Pellets.

Luis Felipe started at left-back in a back line featuring Branislav Ivanovic, John Terry, and Kurt Zouma. He played the entire first half and part of the second and was replaced by Nathan Ake. Luis looks like he'll be a regular starter at Stamford Bridge this season. Jose Mourinho chose to play everyone in the squad in this match as he tries to bring his players to match fitness. Fernando Torres, Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, Cesc Fabregas, and Diego Costa were absent as they were given time to recover from their World Cup participation earlier this summer.

Chelsea have signed left-back Felipe Luis from Atletico Madrid.

Luis is set to cost the Blues a fee in the region of £15million and the move should be finalized within 48 hours. The Brazilian left-back says joining Chelsea was a big opportunity that he couldn't pass up and admits he's a Chelsea fan. Chelsea have seemingly gotten him at a good value, considering Luke Shaw was sold for £15million earlier in the summer. Luis is expected to be a starter for Chelsea but don't be surprised if Cesar Azpilicueta comes in to give him rest every once in a while.
