Brown Ideye and Saido Berahino are both playing through pain but doing so with style as Ideye took his turn scoring in a Baggies win.
Ideye and Berahino have been consistent in making appearances in the Friday Team News releases from the Hawthorns but both have been equally consistent in turning up and contributing when the matches start. Going forward, fantasy managers should assume that both players will start regardless of what they read on Friday. More importantly, the injuries that they are carrying aren't hindering either player from contributing goals. Against Stoke City in Week 29 it was Ideye who scored again to continue West Brom's move up the table since Tony Pulis arrived. Mar 17 - 3:41 PM

West Brom will be hoping the injury news on strike duo Brown Ideye and Saido Berahino is positive after the pair limped out of Saturdays’ win over Southampton potentially leaving Tony Pulis without a recognised centre-forward for Tuesdays’ derby at Villa Park.

Following the deadline day collapse of his move away from the Hawthorns Ideye has thrived under Tony Pulis and is now beginning to look like the hot prospect he was once touted. The Nigerian international has formed an excellent partnership with team mate Saido Berahino and the pair have enjoyed a lot of success in front of goal recently [7 in 5 games]. But post-match on Saturday Pulis revealed the pair were being assessed after picking up knocks – a concern given both had been struggling prior to GW27 and needed pain-killing injections. With such a short turnaround the medical team will need to work hard to give either a chance although Victor Anichebe could return following his recent recovery from a groin complaint.

Brown Ideye's hot streak had to come to an end sometime and Week 26 was the time as the Baggies failed to score at the Stadium of Light.

With Southampton West Brom's next opponents, it might be reasonable to guess that Ideye's goalless streak will go to two matches after the weekend. Ideye's revival under Tony Pulis has been a nice story over the course of February but starting with Week 27 we'll find out if it was just a nice run from a player who remains below average for the Premier League or whether the combination of some time to adapt and a better system around him supplied by Pulis has unlocked the best from the player. Tread cautiously but don't write him off after one poor match.

The Brown Ideye revolution continues under Tony Pulis as the summer signing continued his goal-scoring ways with a brace against West Ham in a 4-0 Baggies win.

The notion that Brown Ideye would score four goals in three matches against Premier League opposition seemed silly as recently as mid-January but he has come on strong and fired the Baggies to two wins and a draw in their last three matches in all competitions. Ideye was joined among the goals by James Morrison and Saido Berahino who helped heap the misery on Sam Alardyce's men. The win puts the Baggies in the quarter finals of the FA Cup for the first time since 2008.

After West Bromwich Albion tried their best to offload Brown Ideye at the transfer deadline, the striker has popped up with his two biggest performances in back to back contests, tonight helping the Baggies to a 2-0 win over Swansea City.

After Mario Balotelli's game-winner last night, perhaps the theme of this round's games has been "let bygones be bygones". Heading into the hour mark of tonight's match, the two sides were deadlocked 0-0. That is when Saido Berahino was able to feed the ball into Ideye who at first had it blocked by Ashley Williams but showed a nice display of strength to control the ball and turn to fire a shot with power past the Swansea keeper. Ideye would then return the favor by supplying Berahino later on with a pass in the box and the latter notched his tenth league goal of the season to seal the points. With a clean sheet to boot, it was a positive day all around for the Baggies, save for an early exit by Callum McManaman, who limped off in the second half with a knock.

Brown Ideye scored his second Premier League goal and it was important as he drew the Baggies level.

Ideye has been frequently maligned after his expensive summer move has yielded few results. Week 24 saw him justify some of his fee as he scored the equalizer after Albion went down 2-0 early. Chris Brunt halved the lead just before halftime. The Baggies were lucky to maintain the lead after a late Gareth McAuley hand ball in the box went undetected and the match ended 2-2.

There wasn't much to like for West Brom on Boxing Day but at least they have a goal from Ideye Brown to show for the visit of the Champions.

Things went downhill quickly for the Baggies who conceded goals in the 8th and 13th minutes against Manchester City. They conceded again in the 34th minute which effectively ended the match as a competitive fixture. Ideye Brown was introduced in the 67th minute for Silvestre Varela and scored 20 minutes after his introduction so at least there was something that Albion could salvage as good news from the day

Bournemouth scored a shock win over West Brom to put them into the quarter finals of that competition for the first time ever.

The Baggies fielded a team of mostly squad players for the match-up but having improved their depth over the summer would still have expected to win this match. Instead they found themselves able to get only an own goal from Bournemouth defender Tommy Elphick. Of even more concern is the fact that they lost the possession battle 48% to 52% to the club currently fourth in the Championship. Maybe the Baggies' depth isn't all that we thought it might be.

West Brom could welcome back a quartet of players this weekend but Baggies boss Alan Irvine is unlikely to make wholesale changes after the emphatic victory over Burnley at the Hawthorns in game week six.

Chris Baird [illness] missed out last Sunday but has returned to training while Brown Ideye [ankle], Sylvestre Varela and Victor Anichebe [both groin] face late fitness tests; full-back Sebastien Pocognoli who limped to the sidelines after picking up a minor knock should be fine. However West Brom will be forced into at least one alteration as Andre Wisdom is unable to face his parent club under the terms of his loan agreement – Christian Gamboa is in line for his first league start since his summer move from Rosenborg. Saido Berahino will look to add to his four goals already this term and will be buoyed by the news of his England Under-21 call up on Thursday.

Ideye Brown racing against the clock to be fit for a Week 1 Baggies debut.

West Brom's most expensive summer signing has yet to prove his fitness is at a sufficient level to earn him a start in the season debut against Sunderland. The controversial signing will have an uphill battle to convince critics that he was worth his transfer price and before he can do that he will have to be fit. His chances of playing in Week 1 are deemed to be about 50/50 at this point. Stay tuned to Alan Irvine's press conference on Friday for more.

Looking to fill the Romelu Lukaku-sized hole in their front line, West Brom have broken their transfer record to sign Nigerian international Brown Ideye.

Ideye represents a big gamble for West Brom after a year of failed experiments at forward last season. At 6' tall and 155 lbs., the Nigerian will never be mistaken for Romelu Lukaku but he is capable of holding down the middle and letting West Brom's runners like Stephane Sessegnon and Saido Berahino play off of him. Never a huge goal scorer in either France (17 goals in 52 appearances) or Russia (33 in 74), he is coming into his prime at 25-years-old and could still have some upside for the Baggies in addition to providing the focal point that has been missing since Lukaku's loan spell ended. He would have to improve on his Dynamo Kiev goal-scoring rate while stepping up in competition to be a serious fantasy consideration.
