Hull City centre-back Harry Maguire is still sought by West Ham according to reports.
The Hammers already took City's top scorer Robert Snodgrass from the club earlier in the season. The defender's eye-catching displays since breaking into the first team this season have seen him linked to a variety of clubs, but his performances did not merit an expected England call-up as Gareth Southgate favoured Boro's Ben Gibson to the 24 year old. Rumours linking Maguire to a move will intensify if Hull's chances of relegation worsen as he has one year remaining on his current contract. The Tigers may be forced to cash in this summer while they can if they fail to dodge the drop. Mar 25 - 10:48 AM

Hull City are sweating on the fitness of centre-back Harry Maguire after the defender sustained a knee injury against Burnley at the KCOM Stadium.

Marco Silva confirmed during Fridays’ press conference that Curtis Davies and Michael Dawson could be out for another month with respective hamstring and calf injuries and the Tigers can ill-afford to lose another key defender. Speaking after the hard fought 1-1 draw, Silva revealed that Maguire was "maybe 50 percent for the whole of the second half and the last 10 minutes of the first half," after appearing to twist his knee which required lengthy treatment. Silva added: "I hope it's a knock, we'll see over the next few days." However, Liverpool loanee Lazar Markovic "should be okay" for the game against Leicester City in game week 27 after a training ground injury ruled him out of todays’ match.

Hull City defender Harry Maguire's performances and stats in the Premier League this season have seen him become a genuine prospect for an England call-up.

Maguire has been at Hull for three seasons, but has only properly cemented his starting position in a string of eye-catching performances while replacing the injured Michael Dawson and Curtis Davies at centre-back. He made his full PL debut in October in the 6-1 loss to Bournemouth but has been generally good since. He has shown his ability to read the game well through his interceptions (2.44 pg) which is far better than nearest Englishman Michael Keane 2.04. Chris Smalling has 0.57. Maguire has also steered clear of any defensive errors according to the stats this term which neither Stones, Cahill, Smalling, or Keane can say. He is ahead of all those players too in tackles won and duels won per game and 2nd only to Keane for blocks. In attack, he leads English CBs in terms of take-ons per game, shots and fouls drawn.

Since Marco Silva has arrived at Hull City, there has been a remarkable turnaround in Hull's defensive fortunes.

Concurrent clean sheets in the league against Manchester United and Liverpool have come from tactical changes and delivered new found confidence to the Tigers. Firstly, Hull were compact and co-ordinated in defence in both of the noted games, which made them hard to break down, even for some of the league's most creative attackers. They've also begun marking zonally at set pieces, which has been successful thus far. Last weekend, new-signing Andrea Ranocchia impressed all with a commanding performance alongside Harry Maguire too. His aerial prowess, positioning and his assist for Niasse were especially praiseworthy.

Harry Maguire has trained ahead of the EFL Cup semi-final at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

The Hull centre-back missed the 2-0 win over Swansea last weekend because of a hip problem but Maguire did train with the group on Monday afternoon as the Tigers prepare for their meeting with Man United. Marco Silva will make a late decision on his involvement. Curtis Davies [hamstring] is definitely out and defensive teammate Michael Dawson remains a major doubt after his was forced off with a shoulder injury on Saturday following an awkward fall. Abel Hernandez will be checked having completed an hour for the first time since undergoing surgery [hernia] over a month ago. Allan McGregor is available but the goalkeeper may need to build fitness with the development side before he returns to the first-team.

Hull City have triggered a clause in centre-back Haryy Maguire's contract to keep him at the club until the end of the 2017/18 season.

Maguire has been an important part of the team's starting 11 this season and had been subject to rumours in the media about a move away from the club. However, he will not be able to leave the KCOM Stadium in the summer on a free after this move by the club. Mike Phelan has signalled that the club will engage in long-term contract negotiations in the New Year to tie down the young defender's services further into the future.

Harry Maguire is being pursued by Middlesbrough, who have made a £4m bid.

Maguire is a young prospect who plays for the England U21 team and started 25 games for Hull City last season. He is likely going to make it to the Premier League sooner rather than later even if the move to Middlesbrough doesn't work. He would be a likely started if he made the move now.

Hull City's disastrous summer continues following another injury to a defender, this time to center-back Harry Maguire.

The 23-year-old has been suffering from a foot injury of late and received an injection in hopes of reducing the swelling and pain, but surgery has not been ruled out. Maguire joins Michael Dawson (knee), Moses Odubajo (knee) and Alex Bruce (Achilles/ankle) as members of the back-line who are now on the training table. Dawson will miss the next three months while the latter two will be held out until at least the New Year after undergoing surgery. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Allan McGregor has also been ruled out until the New Year due to back surgery.

Hull City announced the dual signings of young defenders Harry Maguire and Andrew Robertson from Sheffield United and Dundee United respectively.

In his first year back in the big time, Steve Bruce's transfer approach was all about buying known Premier League quantities who could improve Hull City's chances of staying up. With today's dual-signing of Maguire and Robertson and the earlier signing of Tom Ince, Steve Bruce has departed from that approach and started to stock the shelves with younger players with talent. Maguire has been scouted by Manchester United and Chelsea at times and has been compared favorably to John Terry as a young player. Robertson, named Scotland Young Player of the Year this past season, is a left back who plays solid defense and has scored some spectacular goals on his rapid rise from amateur football to the Scotish national team and now the Premier League. Both will likely be eased in behind veterans but there is some excitement about Hull's after this summer.
