Harry Maguire will have to wait to make his England debut after being left out of the match-day squad for Monday's World Cup qualifier against Slovakia.
Maguire, who was called up for the first time by Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate, did not feature in the squad for Friday's WCQ win in Malta and has again be excluded from the 23-man squad for the clash with Slovakia. Southgate named an enlarged 28-man squad for the Group F double-header but only 23 are allowed to be involved on match days, meaning the in-form Leicester center-back's first international call-up will not result in a maiden cap. Meanwhile, Manchester United's Jesse Lingard and Bournemouth striker Jermain Defoe will also miss out. Sep 4 - 11:05 AM

Harry Maguire is an injury concern for Leicester City's trip to Manchester United on Saturday because of a knee knock suffered in the 4-1 Carabao Cup victory over Sheffield United on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old, recently called up to the England senior squad for the first time, was taken off late during the cup win over the Blades having been involved in a heavy challenge earlier in the match. According to Craig Shakespeare, Maguire did not fully train on Thursday because the center-back had an "adverse reaction" to the tackle "24 hours later". Shakespeare added he's hope Maguire's injury will settle down overnight and allow him to take part in full training on Friday. With Maguire set to face a late fitness test and fellow center-back Robert Huth still sidelined with a sore foot, Ben Chilwell could be brought in at left-back to allow Christian Fuchs to start alongside Wes Morgan at center-back at Old Trafford.

Harry Maguire opened his scoring account for Leicester City as the Foxes picked up 2-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion.

Craig Shakespeare's side responded from last week's 4-3 defeat at Arsenal with an efficient performance at the King Power Stadium. The hosts took the lead inside a minute when Shinji Okazaki tapped in after Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan failed to hold a low strike from Riyad Mahrez. The rest of the first period saw Okazaki and Jamie Vardy, who would later hobble off, fail to convert chances while Seagulls striker Glenn Murray had a goal disallowed for offside. However, the missed opportunities did not come back to haunt Leicester as Maguire rose at the back post to head home a Mahrez corner to double the lead in the 54th minute. Aside from the concern over the health of Vardy, the Foxes will be happy with the result.

Leicester City have opened their summer spending spree with the signing of Hull City defender Harry Maguire.

The 24-year-old joins the Foxes on five-year deal after the clubs reportedly agreed to a fee in the region of £17m. Sheffield United, who Maguire left to join Hull City in 2014, will also receive a profit after inserting a sell-on clause in that deal. Maguire arrivals at the King Power Stadium to reinforce the heart of Craig Shakepeare's defense following his breakout 2016/17 campaign at Hull City. The former England Under-21 defender made 36 total appearances for the Tigers in a season that saw him earn Hull's fans' and players' player of the season awards. Speaking exclusively to LCFC TV, Maguire said: "It’s obviously a very exciting time for myself. Once I had my eyes on this club, I always wanted to join. Thankfully I’m here so I can’t wait to get the season started and kick on." Maguire will link up with his new team-mates in early July ahead of the pre-season, and compete with Wes Morgan, Robert Huth and Yohan Benalouane for a spot in the starting XI.

Leicester City is believed to be keen on signing Hull City center-back Harry Maguire.

Maguire is expected to leave the KCOM Stadium following Hull City's relegation to the Championship, with reports hinting at Leicester City as one of the clubs leading the chase to sign him. The 24-year-old has one year left on his current deal and will cost much more than the £2.5m Hull paid Sheffield United in 2014, but the Tigers may be forced to cash in on the in-demand defender. Leicester have emerged as potential landing place after injuries to Wes Morgan, 33, and Robert Huth, 32, exposed their lack of defensive depth last season, while veteran Marcin Wasilewski has already been released and loanee Molla Wague is not expected to return. However, Tottenham and Everton are also believed to be interested in the £20m-rated defender.

Hull will entertain Tottenham in their dead rubber match on Sunday without the services of centre-back Harry Maguire who may have played his last game for the club.

Maguire was forced off at Selhurst Park last weekend because of a problem with his knee and the 24-year-old is struggling to recover in time bringing to an end to a disappointing campaign. The big defender has had a fine year and deservedly took the Players’ Player of the Year and the Fans’ Player of the Year at a recent awards ceremony but Leicester, Newcastle and Tottenham are prepared to offer Maguire a chance of remaining in the top-flight. Curtis Davies could return feature in his absence. Abel Hernandez [ankle] and Evandro [groin] are also set to miss the final Premier League game of the season while Moses Odubajo, Will Keane and David Meyler [all knee] remain on the sidelines. Ryan Mason [fractured skull] is back at the training ground but won't be considered just yet.

Hull City will be without a number of key players for their final game in the top flight against Spurs on Sunday.

Harry Maguire, Evandro, and Abel Hernandez have been ruled out of the encounter with the league's runners up. Evandro suffered a groin strain in the same game and is unavailable, while Hernandez is not in condition to play after missing the Eagles match with an ankle complaint.

Hull City's highly-rated centre-back Harry Maguire insisted on Thursday that talks about extending his contract are on hold while he focuses on securing Hull's Premier League status next season.

Maguire, 24, is moving into the final year of his current deal, but since breaking into the first-team earlier this season, a number of fine displays have seen him linked with a number of other Premier League clubs with Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Everton among those reportedly interested. Speaking to the media ahead of The Tigers' massive clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday, Maguire said: "Obviously every footballer wants to be playing in the Premier League, myself included." With Maguire's future at the club probably hinging on the side's next two PL games, he added: "Hopefully the big players turn up and we get the three points. I definitely think there's a twist yet, I think if you look before the weekend we were in the driving seat and not many would have predicted the results over the weekend so who says there's not going to be another twist and turn? We're all very well prepared to go to Palace and get the result what we need."

Having failed in their bid to land centre-back Michael Keane in January, Everton have now refocused their efforts on Hull City's Harry Maguire.

Everton pursued Keane intensely during the January transfer window, but the Liverpool Echo report that manager Ronald Koeman has conceded that he will not be able to fend off competition from Spurs, and to a greater extent Manchester United, for the Englishman's signature. However, Koeman is confident that Everton's valuation Harry Maguire, 24, will be enough to beat West Ham and Southampton to signing the fans' favourite.

Harry Maguire scored for Macro Silva's side but their road woes continued with a 3-1 loss at the Britannia.

Marco Silva may have revitalized Hull City at home but he can't seem to pull the same magic from his side on the road. His side again struggled away from home giving up the first goal of the match after six minutes. They clawed back through Maguire but couldn't hold things level as they allowed two second half goals for the final 3-1 scoreline. Hull City players remain solid value at home but are best avoided on their travels.

Hull City's centre-back Harry Maguire has been ruled out of his side's visit to the Etihad on Saturday.

However, he had to come off in the closing stages with a minor knee injury, which Marco Silva confirmed will rule him out for GW32. However, fellow midweek goalscorer Abel Hernandez has recovered from the dead leg which forced him off early on in Wednesday evening's second half.

Hull City climbed out of the relegation as they overcame an early deficit to defeat Middlesbrough 4-2 at the KCOM Stadium.

Hull were the better side throughout despite going behind in the fifth minute. Marco Silva's side surged back as Lazar Markovic converted from close-range nine minutes later and Oumar Niasse headed home to put them ahead on the 27th minute, before Abel Hernandez double their with a header of his own shortly thereafter. While the visitors pulled one back through Marten de Roon, the Tigers proved resilient after the restart. The home side regained their two-goal lead when an unmarked Harry Maguire headed home emphatically at the far post, effectively sealing all three points. The victory moves Hull above Swansea into 17th in the table, two points clear of the Swans and seven points ahead of Boro.

Hull City centre-back Harry Maguire is still sought by West Ham according to reports.

The Hammers already took City's top scorer Robert Snodgrass from the club earlier in the season. The defender's eye-catching displays since breaking into the first team this season have seen him linked to a variety of clubs, but his performances did not merit an expected England call-up as Gareth Southgate favoured Boro's Ben Gibson to the 24 year old. Rumours linking Maguire to a move will intensify if Hull's chances of relegation worsen as he has one year remaining on his current contract. The Tigers may be forced to cash in this summer while they can if they fail to dodge the drop.

Hull City are sweating on the fitness of centre-back Harry Maguire after the defender sustained a knee injury against Burnley at the KCOM Stadium.

Marco Silva confirmed during Fridays’ press conference that Curtis Davies and Michael Dawson could be out for another month with respective hamstring and calf injuries and the Tigers can ill-afford to lose another key defender. Speaking after the hard fought 1-1 draw, Silva revealed that Maguire was "maybe 50 percent for the whole of the second half and the last 10 minutes of the first half," after appearing to twist his knee which required lengthy treatment. Silva added: "I hope it's a knock, we'll see over the next few days." However, Liverpool loanee Lazar Markovic "should be okay" for the game against Leicester City in game week 27 after a training ground injury ruled him out of todays’ match.
