Crystal Palace are in talks with PSG over the proposed £10 million transfer of French International Johan Cabaye…
Talk of a move for the French International has rumbled on for a while, but not it seems negotiations have reached a formal stage. Cabaye joined PSG from Newcastle – then managed by Palace boss Alan Pardew, of course - for £19 million in January 2014. But has struggled to make an impact and started just 13 matches last season. Aged 29 and with the Euros at the end of the coming season, Cabaye will be keen to secure regular first-team action. Palace expect competition though - London rivals Tottenham and West Ham have already declared an interest, plus Southampton are monitoring the situation having resigned themselves to losing Morgan Schneiderlin to Manchester United. It’s been a frustrating summer so far of Pardew and Palace, with interest in Loic Remy, Charlie Austin and Matt Phillips so far fruitless. Jul 1 - 4:50 AM

West Ham are looking to sign a trio of French internationals with Marseille attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet expected to be the first to join the Hammers in a move worth around $19 million.

Payet arrives on the back of a solid Ligue 1 season which returned 7 goals and 17 assists in a deal which the club hope to conclude within the next 24 hours. Payet would become the club’s third summer signing although Slaven Bilic has no intention of calling a halt to his transfer dealings just yet with the Hammers’ pursuing former Newcastle playmaker Yohan Cabaye and Chelsea striker Loic Remy. Both have struggled to nail down a regular spot at their respective clubs and the pair are keen on playing within the BPL next season although their availability has sparked interest amongst a number of sides. Any possibility of Alex Song joining West Ham looks to be over after the club refused to meet Barcelona's $8 million price tag plus the players $100k per week salary.

This one would be a huge shock if it happened but Yohan Cabaye has been linked with a move to Crystal Palace to work with Alan Pardew again.

The 29-year-old midfielder started only 13 matches for PSG this past season and featured in 11 more as a substitute. With Euro2016 scheduled for France, Cabaye may need a move away from Paris to ensure that he is getting enough playing time to feature for Les Bleus when they host the tournament. If PSG make him available, you get the feeling he could find a bigger club if he wanted to. The shred of credibility in this rumor is that the player may value the relationship with Pardew and the comfort in knowing that he will likely start every match he is healthy for if he moves to Selhurst Park.

Yohan Cabaye has completed his moved to PSG, and has signed for the French club until 2017.

Newcastle United were built around the French midfield maestro. His attacking flair and defensive tenacity were vital to how they set up, either with him behind the striker or deeper in midfield. Manager Alan Pardew has a task on his hand to reshape the team on the fly and get the best out of the other midfielders on his roster, like Hatem Ben Arfa, Vurnon Anita, Yoan Gouffran, etc.

French giants, Paris Saint-Germain, have made a deal with Newcastle United over the transfer of midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

The deal happened quickly, even after manager Alan Pardew had named Cabaye in his squad to travel to Norwich. Now, instead of facing the Canaries, Cabaye will be having a medical in Paris. Newcastle United, the Premier League, and fantasy managers, are losing a top-class player. Hatem Ben Arfa could come into the Newcastle side, but he won't bring the same application on both sides of the ball as Cabaye, while Vurnon Anita isn't as strong of an attacker.

Yohan Cabaye scored two goals in Newcastle's away 3-1 win over West Ham United.

Cabaye scored the first and the last of the Newcastle goals to help his team win the three points. The other Newcastle goal came from Loic Remy while the Hammers' goal came from Mike Williamson putting it in his own net. Newcastle are now in eight place while West Ham drop back into the relegation zone. Cabaye is expensive in the Yahoo! game but keeps showing us he is worth every penny. He is matchup proof and you can play him week in and week out.

Yohan Cabaye won't train until Friday, at the earliest, and is a major doubt ahead of Newcastle United's match against Manchester City on Sunday.

Cabaye, suffering from an achilles injury, returned to France to rest while his team lost to Cardiff City in the FA Cup. Cabaye has been playing in a more advanced role of late, and against Manchester City Moussa Sissoko might be moved into that role. Hatem Ben Arfa may be deemed to slight and to undisciplined with the ball to risk against City.

Midfielder, Yohan Cabaye, is available to face Crystal Palace after serving a one-match ban for yellow card accumulation.

Cabaye will surely come straight back into the side at the expense of Vurnon Anita.

Yohan Cabaye scored a wonderful winning goal against Manchester United, but also picked up his fifth yellow card of the season. He will miss the match against Southampton.

Vurnon Anita is the likely candidate to deputize for the Frenchman. Anita has put in some good performances recently, but Cabaye's form has been winning matches for Newcastle and he'll be a tough player to replace.

Yohan Cabaye was the talisman for Newcastle United today, scoring in the 61st minute to put them ahead, and the Magpies held the lead for the final half hour to complete the 0-1 upset and grab three points from Old Trafford.

It was a long goal kick that Patrice Evra attempted to head away but it deflected off Moussa Sissoko and landed perfectly into the Newcastle midfielder's path. Sissoko chased it down and sent a low cross into the box where Cabaye was waiting, beating David De Gea to his right. Cabaye has a knack for scoring against tough opponents. His three goals this season have come against Everton, Liverpool and now Manchester United. Newcastle host Southampton next but Cabaye will miss out after accruing his 5th yellow card in this match.

Newcastle XI: Krul; Debuchy, Williamson, Dummett, Santon; Sissoko, Tiote (c), Cabaye; Gouffran, Ben Arfa, Remy Substitutes: Elliot, Haïdara, Anita, Obertan, Sammy Ameobi, Shola Ameobi, Cissé

Pardew rolls out a 4-3-3 with Remy as the lone striker and Cisse on the bench. The late fitness question of Coloccini apparently was not passed as he does not make the squad.

After taking an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Yohan Cabaye, Newcastle United went down to ten men, but managed to keep pace with Liverpool to earn a point in a 2-2 draw.

Cabaye was the one to watch in the early going, taking some audacious attempts at goal, and scored from about 30 yards out after nonchalantly walking the ball up from midfield. The hero of the day goes to the young unknown Paul Dummett, who scored the second goal after being subbed on at the start of the 2nd half and helped Newcastle get a point out of a situation in which they easily could have come away with nothing.

Yohan Cabaye will miss Newcastle United's Capital One Cup match against Leeds today.

Cabaye left Newcastle's loss against Hull City Tigers with a groin injury. While he will not play today, he may return for this Monday's match against Everton.

Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye is expected to make his first start of the season this weekend at Aston Villa.

Manager Alan Pardew has praised the midfielder's application and effort over the international break and he, along with Loic Remy, are expected to play a big part against Aston Villa.
Thu, Sep 12, 2013 03:55:00 PM

Yohan Cabaye is absent from Newcastle's team entirely as they host West Ham.

The news isn't very surprising as the versatile French midfielder clearly has one foot out the door of St. James' Park. Arsenal have been pushing all week to sign him, and Cabaye has made his feelings known he no longer desires to stay with his current club. Newcastle need to sell soon if they plan to reinvest before the transfer window closes.
