The threat of relegation got more real on Saturday with Swansea dropping a home match to one of the few teams below them in the standings.
The Swans got off the mark quickly when Roland Lamah scored in the second minute. The Swans could neither add to that lead nor make it hold up as they allowed West Brom to come back through an early second half goal from Stephane Sessegnon. As the match wound down, Youssouf Mulumbu scored the winner after dribbling essentially unchallenged from 30 yards out to the edge of the box. On such plays are relegation battles lost. Swansea are now only 4 points above the drop - shocking from a team riding so high as recently as the Capital One Cup final last season. Mar 15 - 2:21 PM

Roland Lamah scored an unlikely goal that ended up winning Swansea City a point at Villa Park.

Swansea City dominated a lot of the game but only came out with a point because they couldn't finish their chances. Jonjo Shelvey was very active and created a lot for the away team. Aston Villa had to defend for their lives at the end and Brad Guzan had to make a few important saves to keep the game level. Swansea have a tough match against Manchester City next week and will try to improve on the many good things they did today.
