Former Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici was inspired on Saturday as AFC Bournemouth stepped up there preparation for the new Premier League campaign with a hard fought draw against Ligue 1 side Nantes at the Stade de la Beaujoire in France.
Indeed the Cherries’ can feel a little aggrieved to leave with a share of spoils having missed an 87th minute penalty – Matt Ritchie blazed over from 12 yards – although on reflection a draw was a fair result. An established Championship stopper Federici penned a 3 year deal this summer becoming the second goalkeeper signed by Eddie Howe following the permanent capture of Southampton loanee Artur Boruc and it was the absence of the Polish number one – due to a shoulder problem - which afforded Federici his first 90 minutes in a Bournemouth shirt. Although his injury not thought to be serious Boruc is still not training which could open the door for Federici with only 12 days until kick-off. Jul 27 - 6:39 AM

Bournemouth have signed Artur Boruc to a one-year deal after he was released by Southampton.

Boruc spend last season on loan at Bournemouth and helped them to the Championship title and he was later released by Southampton, who have preferred others in goal ahead of him. Boruc was solid last season and has Premier League experience, where he has been streaky and sometimes prone to error. If Bournemouth's defense is solid next season, Boruc can be a good streamer in fantasy games.

Artur Boruc has made last season's loan deal with the Cherries permanent after helping them win promotion to the Premier League.

Boruc, whose Southampton contract expired at the end of the season, was available to Bournemouth on a free and both the player and club elected to extend their relationship. The keeper came to the club as an emergency loan in September of last season and ended up staying for the entire promotion campaign. He picked up 18 clean sheets as the Cherries won the Championship title and promotion to the Premier League.

Southampton have continued to rebuild their squad with the purchase of England international Fraser Forster from Celtic.

Their work isn't entirely done yet with center back still a big need but Southampton have continued to rebuild their depleted squad today with the acquisition of highly rated Celtic and England keeper Fraser Forster. Rumors have incumbent #1 Artur Boruc headed out the door as Forster enters. Assuming Boruc leaves it will mean they have lost Boruc, Shaw, Lovern, Chambers, Lallana and Lambert - more than half of last season's starting eleven. Coming in so far are Forster, Ryan Bertrand, Dusan Tadic Saphir Tadir, and Graziano Pelle. A solid center back could make that pretty close to a wash with a number of young players also maturing.

Southampton are looking to finalize a deal for England goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

Forster is reportedly on top of Southampton's list and he would provide an upgrade over Artur Boruc. Boruc was Southampton's number one goalkeeper last year and despite playing well for the majority of the season, he has proved to be a mistake-prone performer. Boruc has trouble earning the job two years ago and has historically been average. Forster would be a big step in Southampton's attempt to not be relegated.

Southampton are ready to make an improved bid for Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster as a replacement for Artur Boruc.

Artur Boruc had Southampton's starting job locked down when healthy last season but has been an average goalkeeper prone to mistakes. New Saints manager Ronald Koeman wants to improve the position by signing Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster. Forster has been extremely impressive for Celtic and even had a 13 match, 1256 minute streak without conceding a goal. The keeper is highly valued by his club and is expected to cost at least £10m, a price Southampton can afford after selling many of their prized players this summer. It's unknown if Boruc will play as a backup or leave the club if Southampton can sign Forster.

Artur Boruc has recovered from a back injury and is expected to start against Aston Villa this weekend.

Boruc missed the last two games due to a back problem but is once again fit. Even considering the fact that Aston Villa are horrible at home, Boruc is not the best of options this week as there are similarly prized goalkeepers who play weaker oppositions at home. Joe Hart and Hugo Lloris are to be considered before Boruc.

Artur Boruc will be assessed before Southampton faces Cardiff City on Saturday.

Boruc missed Southampton's last match due to a back problem but is likely going to return on Saturday. He has a fantastic matchup against Cardiff, who have struggled mightily on the road. Since Boruc is a slight doubt for the match, it would be wise to also own his replacement, Paulo Gazzaniga, who only costs £ 1M. Gaston Ramirez will also be assessed before the match due to an ankle problem.

Artur Boruc was instrumental in Southampton's clean sheet over the weekend and is a good fantasy pick for the upcoming weeks.

Boruc returned from injury and kept a clean sheet in his first game back. Southampton's defense is healthy again and they have a relatively easy schedule in the coming weeks with the exception of facing Arsenal in late January. His price at the moment is a relatively low so there isn't much keeping me away from him.

Artur Boruc has returned from his hand injury and is in the starting lineup for Southampton's match against West Brom.

Southampton are getting healthier and the schedule is getting easier, both of which should help Boruc in fantasy. He is a good pick in the coming weeks.

Artur Boruc's status for the game against West Brom is still uncertain and the decision will likely be made right before the game tomorrow.

Boruc is viewed as a 50/50 chance to play against West Brom and that leaves managers who gambled on Kelvin Davis in a very tough situation. Considering Davis costs the minimum price, you can also elect to go with Boruc and keep Davis on the bench, making sure you will get the points from whoever plays.

Artur Boruc could return to Southampton's lineup this weekend when they face West Brom.

Boruc has been out with a hand injury but is close to a return. Those who own Kelvin Davis in fantasy should check back tomorrow for more conclusive news as he may no longer be an option. Boruc's price has decreased and he will certainly be a good pick against WBA if he returns.

Under fire Southampton goalkeeper Artur Boruc will be out until sometime in January after breaking his hand in the Saints' Week 13 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Boruc received a great deal of praise for Southampton's early rise up the table but had recently taken criticism for blunders that likely cost the Saints points against Arsenal and Stoke City. The injury to his hand will now give Boruc some time to regroup while Paulo Gazzaniga deputizes for the next six to eight weeks.

Mauricio Pochettino has offered support for his goalkeeper Artur Boruc after Boruc's critical mistake over the weekend.

Artur Boruc tried to dribble past Olivier Giroud and was stripped of the ball in what ended up as a goal. Despite his two blunders this season, Boruc has been relatively solid and has been a big part of Southampton's six clean sheets. The support from Pochettino suggests Boruc faces no risk for his job at the moment.

Mauricio Pochettino cleared up rumors about Artur Boruc's health by saying Boruc is not injured and is fit for the game against Manchester United this weekend.

Boruc has been a good fantasy choice all season and has a good defense in front of him, but even with that, I wouldn't start him against Manchester United. United have too many players who can score from any situation(Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney), and despite them struggling, it's too risky to play Boruc.
