James Collins will miss 4-6 weeks with a calf problem.
West Ham's summer was shortened to just about four weeks since they've qualified for the Europa Cup and they're already dealing with an injury blow. James Collins will be out for 4-6 weeks with a calf issue that forced him off in gameweek 37 against Everton. Collins may need to be relied upon next season if the Hammers part ways with Winston Reid, but he should be counted on as of right now. May 30 - 12:49 AM

West Ham defender James Collins will miss West Ham's trip to Newcastle this weekend.

West Ham have not been able to keep anyone healthy in recent weeks and Collins is another casualty that they'll miss in the final week. Collins has also been ruled out of the European Championship qualifier against Belgium on June 12th. The good news for the Hammers is that James Tomkins returns from a shoulder injury and will likely start at center-back.

West Ham suffered another Premier League defeat as they went down 2-0 to Manchester City at the Etihad.

The season started so brightly for West Ham but the four months have been extremely disappointing, winning just two league matches in 2015. This match went much the same way as the Hammers found themselves behind when James Collins looped an attempted clearance from a Jesus Navas cross into his own net to give City the lead. Navas set up Sergio Aguero to slot in a second after a slick counter-attack. West Ham had a late Kevin Nolan shot saved by Joe Hart, but they rarely threatened a comeback.

The future of Winston Reid is still undecided after the West Ham defender took to social media to deny reports suggesting he is trying to engineer a move away from the Boleyn Ground during the January transfer window.

Sam Allardyce recently admitted that "we've done as much as we possibly can [to keep Reid]," but the Hammers’ boss is still uncertain whether the defender will remain at the club – negotiations are ongoing and "it’s in the chairman’s hands." However any departure may be delayed until West Ham discover the full extent of the back injury picked up by James Collins during the win over Hull City while James Tomkins was also taken off as a precaution after feeling tightness in his hamstring.

James Collins returns to West Ham's squad after recovering from a hamstring problem.

Collins was sent off during his first Premier League match of the season and then struggled with the injury so Sam Allardyce might decide to play James Tomkins in his place. Either way, it's a risky move to play him away from home against a team that added a ton of attacking pieces in the transfer window. Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll are still missing long term.

Injury concerns mount for West Ham United as Sam Allardyce could be without six first team members for the visit of Southampton this weekend.

Matt Jarvis (thigh), Carl Jenkinson and James Collins (both hamstring) were all rumoured to be close to a return on Saturday but the Hammers boss confirmed during todays press conference that the trio will remain out joining long-term absentees Andy Carroll (ankle) and Kevin Nolan (shoulder). After a disappointing defeat in the Capital One Cup West Ham will be happy to get back to domestic duty and will hope to build upon last weekend’s excellent win at Selhurst Park. Enner Valencia maybe restricted to a place on the bench despite his 120 minutes of play on Tuesday while strike partner Diafra Sakho will face a late fitness test after suffering a minor back problem.

James Collins was sent off for two bookable offences as West Ham were defeated by Spurs at Upton Park.

Collins was booked for a foul in the first half before blocking off Emmanuel Adebayor with half an hour to go. Referee Chris Foy produced a second yellow card, reducing West Ham to 10 men, and it was a key moment as Tottenham went on to grab an injury-time winner.

James Collins will be available for selection when West Ham face Crystal Palace this weekend.

Collins has missed the last few weeks with an injury but he is back in training and available for the weekend. This is a risky play, as Sam Allardyce might decide to keep him on the bench due to fitness or due to Winston Reid's play. Due to the uncertainty, I would avoid the situation fully. Kevin Nolan will also return from injury.

James Collins is ruled out for this weekend's match and is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a calf injury.

Collins picked up the injury against Hull City a couple of weeks ago and hasn't recovered yet. It seems Winston Reid has his job in the meantime, but he is a risky play against Liverpool this weekend. Reid can be a great fill in against weaker oppositions, but there aren't many defenders I'd like to play against Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.

James Collins will face a late fitness test before Monday's match against Sunderland but is considered doubtful for the game.

James Collins left West Ham's match against Hull City with a calf injury which will likely force him out of action on Monday. Winston Reid wasn't even in the match squad against Hull City due to an illness and we don't know if he'll be well enough to play on Monday. Due to the multiple uncertainties, I would avoid any West Ham center-backs other than James Tomkins.

James Collins was impressive against Chelsea and finished with 14 fantasy points.

Collins recently returned from injury and is much needed in the injured West Ham defense. The Hammers are tied for first in clean sheets this season and Collins will be a good fantasy option for the rest of the season, especially against lesser oppositions.

James Collins will not be fit to face Fulham on New Years Day because of his calf injury.

West Ham are fighting through injuries and have been switching goalkeepers in the past few games, increasing Fulham attackers' fantasy value. With that being said, Fulham attackers have been wildly inconsistent and I wouldn't trust any of them. Dimitar Berbatov is intriguing and has a high ceiling but is a very risky option.

James Collins has been ruled out for West Ham's game over the weekend with a calf injury.

There is no return date set for Collins but he is definitively ruled out for Saturday's match. With Winston Reid still missing with an injury of his own, the West Ham defense will struggle and I would consider adding an attacking West Brom player to my squad for the weekend.

West Ham defender James Collins will be fit for the Hammers' match against Chelsea this weekend.

Collins was taken out of the Wales squad for precautionary reasons and he is fit for Saturday. Alou Diarra has also declared himself fit and will likely make the bench after being expected to miss the rest of the season.

James Collins is fit and will likely start against Norwich City to replace the injured Winston Reid.

West Ham have been good defensively and James Collins has the ability to produce fantasy points but his price makes him an unattractive option. You can have Dejan Lovren or Mathie Debuchy for less money.
