Tony Pulis has been linked with a move to bring relegated Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy to Crystal Palace.
With Julian Speroni getting older (he's 35) and Crystal Palace winning matches by such a fine margin, it makes sense that Tony Pulis would want to have two goalkeepers worthy of being a #1. To that end, he has been linked with Norwich's John Ruddy who did as well as could be expected given the defense in front of him this past season. This is hardly a done deal but it is a rumor that makes sense. Fri, May 23, 2014 09:52:00 AM

John Ruddy can't be faulted for the 2-0 final as the English keeper made a number of very good saves that prevented the scoreline from being more embarrassing than it was.

It is days like this that you feel badly for a goalkeeper like John Ruddy. He has had a rough season and today will not get his due for playing a strong match because his teammates couldn't score and couldn't stop Arsenal from manufacturing strong chances. Ruddy stopped at least four strong goal-scoring opportunities along with the two that he did let in. Based on the quality of his performance, it would be a shame if Ruddy weren't rescued from relegation with a transfer over the summer.

Norwich have been relegated to the Championship as a result of Sunderland's win over West Brom.

Norwich are not out of it mathematically but they need to make up a goal difference of 17 goals(relative to West Brom) in order to remain in the Premier League. The chances of Norwich beating Arsenal and Stoke City defeating West Brom by a total of 17 goals are practically zero and we can all expect to see them in the Championship next season. Norwich have shown that they are not good enough to compete with Premier League sides and are deservedly going down.

John Ruddy will be upset with his teammates as they conspired to allow seven shots on target of which three found the back of the net.

Norwich can't afford to be this listless against fellow relegation strugglers with the pack so tight at the bottom of the table. Swansea typically dominate possession win, lose or draw but they can't always translate that into goals. Norwich allowed them to get good looks at goal and Jonathan De Guzman (twice) and Wayne Routledge scored for a 3-0 loss that Norwich were never really competitive in. Outside of a shot cleared off the line early in the second half, there just wasn't enough of a threat for the Canaries and that won't help them stay up.

Norwich have kept four straight clean sheets at home and face a poor away side this weekend in Stoke City.

Stoke City have only scored 10 goals in 14 away games this season. The odds are pointing towards a Norwich clean sheet, and goalkeeper John Ruddy can be a good budget option this week with managers' budgets remaining on the bench with players like Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez. Norwich defenders are also worth a look.

Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy had an eventful game while keeping out Sunderland in a 0-0 draw.

Ruddy made a couple of good saves but almost made a big error. The keeper raced out of his goal, following Fabio Borini to the corner flag, only for the forward to pull back to Ki Sung-Yueng, but with the goal at his mercy the midfielder missed the target. Norwich had chances of their own through Gary Hooper but will be happy enough with a point away from home.

Goalkeeper John Ruddy has signed a new four-year deal, with an option for another year, with Norwich City.

Ruddy is a good keeper on the fringes of the England squad. Signing him to a long-term deal is good business for the Canaries. At best they can build around him, and at worst, the deal keeps his value high in any potential transfer situation.

Chelsea are to improve their bid for Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy.

John Ruddy is a young keeper with lots of talent. He was on loan with Preston North End last season to gain valuable experience. Chelsea have Petr Cech for the present and near future, but John Ruddy would be a long term investment.

Young goalkeeper Declan Rudd has extended his contract with Norwich City, and will spend next season, as he spent the last, on loan with Preston North End.

In John Ruddy and Mark Bunn, Norwich are blessed with two quality keepers. Rudd is one for the future and a loan move suits all parties.
