Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Lille left-back Pape Souare.
The Senegal international flew straight to London to complete the deal after his nation's early exit from the African Nations Cup this week. Souare becomes Alan Pardew's third signing of the week after the arrivals of Jordon Mutch and Shola Amoebi. Mutch has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract and Ameobi has joined until the end of the campaign after ending a brief stay in Turkey. Fri, Jan 30, 2015 06:13:00 PM

Crystal Palace opened the scoring in their Monday Night match against Fulham, but the Eagles went on to concede four unanswered goals, and were battered at home 1-4.

Selhurst Park was rocking at the kickoff of this match and the supporters went berzerk on the 7th minute when Adrian Mariappa headed home the opening goal from a corner kick. But the party ended there. Ian Holloway would not be dancing a jig at the end of this one, and Palace can't play Sunderland every week. And since their home match to Sunderland is out of the way, there is no reason consider Palace players for fantasy purposes. Their stay in the top flight may be a short one.

A late signing at the end of the transfer window, Adrian Mariappa was handed his first start by manager Ian Holloway in his debut for Crystal Palace as they lose 2-0 at Old Trafford.

Mariappa was brought in with the idea of being a candidate at CB, but an injury late in the week to teammate Joel Ward gave him an opportunity to show his versatility at the fullback position. The Palace defense put in a solid effort against the mighty Red Devils, not giving up a goal from open play and playing with only ten men for half of the match.

Sky Sources understand that Adrian Mariappa has completed his move to Crystal Palace.

Mariappa is a solid defender who will improve Palace's options in the central defensive areas of the squad. He also has a season of Premier League experience behind him having played for Reading in their last campaign and will immediately challenge the likes of Damien Delaney and Danny Gabbidon for a place in the starting XI.
