Michel Vorm is questionable for Tottenham's last match of the season due to an illness.
If Vorm can't go, Brad Friedel will get a chance to start at age 44. We can't really trust a 44 year old goalkeeper that hasn't played this season in fantasy, so we recommend avoiding the Tottenham goalkeeper situation fully unless news comes out early that Vorm is fit. May 23 - 3:51 PM

Hugo Lloris remains out for Tottenham's home game with Aston Villa.

A knee tendon injury which required stitches has not fully healed meaning Vorm will continue to deputise for Lloris – the French goalkeeper could be back next weekend.

Tottenham could not find any goals in them against Burnley but managed to earn a road point with a 0-0 draw, thanks to a fine shift from backup keeper Michel Vorm.

On a day when Harry Kane was handed the armband for the first time with the senior team, he had a rare quiet performance. Spurs won the possession battle but the Clarets defense were able to put the pressure on in the final third and thwarted most buildups before they became legit chances. Kane did not get a shot off until the final minutes of the first half. Nacer Chadli had a couple of good looks in quick succession in the opening frame but Tom Heaton was equal to Vorm's performance and made some quality saves. Worse yet for Spurs, Kyle Walker jammed his foot on a volley near the half and had to come off early in the second. It was a chance for Spurs to leapfrog Liverpool and Southampton in the table and they failed.

Tottenham have opened talks with Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm over a potential move to White Hart Lane, according to Sky sources.

This story comes as a bit of a surprise, with Vorm set to join Tottenham to provide back-up to Hugo Lloris. Sky Sports are reporting the 30-year-old Netherlands international has been granted permission to speak to Spurs after the Premier League clubs agreed a fee over the weekend, thought to be in the region of £5million. Vorm was set to have to battle it out with new signing Lukas Fabianski at the Liberty Stadium and appears to have decided he would rather compete with Lloris at White Hart Lane, where he is likely to be handed the jersey for Tottenham's domestic cup and Europa League matches if the deal goes through.

Swansea City could not penetrate the Hull City defense and took a 1-0 loss on the road today, though Michel Vorm did his part in keeping the Swans in it.

Vorm did not keep a clean sheet but he was Swansea's best player on the pitch today, making several saves of close-range shots. Unfortunately, his teammates could not help him out on the other end, missing chance after chance, with ten of their twelve attempts missing the target. So while their attack seemingly took a step backward today, the defense looked composed for the most part and Vorm in particular looks to be hitting the kind of form that thrust him into stardom when Swansea were promoted two seasons ago.

Michel Vorm, Michu, and Jose Canas are all back in training and have an outside shot of featuring in some way in tomorrow's South Wales Derby.

With many fantasy managers investing in the inexpensive Gerhard Tremmel at keeper this weekend, this news is especially pertinent. Though the chances are slim that Vorm starts, the shred of uncertainty means managers should have a viable bench option just in case. Michu just returned from training and it has been said he will not be rushed back, so investment there should be avoided for now. Jose Canas is not relevant in fantasy terms.

Michel Vorm has told Swansea's official website that his knee surgery was successful and that the recovery process is going smoothly, but that he will not rush back to action.

While the Swans would like to have their #1 keeper back as quickly as possible, (he is a massive upgrade from #2 man Gerhard Tremmel), Vorm is probably more focused on being fit for the Dutch national team in preparation for this year's World Cup, and rightly so. Ideally, he will want to return at some point for Swansea to shake off any rust but expect Tremmel to deputize for several more games, which causes a downgrade for any investment in the Swans defense.

After previously scheduling for January, Swansea City moved up Michel Vorm's knee surgery to today, and the keeper will be out indefinitely.

Swansea dropped the ball on managing Vorm's injury by trying to delay a necessary procedure until after the festive period and further damage to his knee may have occurred while trying to play through it. It does not speak much to Michael Laudrup's confidence in backup Gerhard Tremmel but fantasy managers looking for a super cheap player between the sticks have a new nailed on option.

Michel Vorm has been scheduled to have surgery on his left knee in January which will cause him to be sidelined for four weeks to recover.

The timing of the surgery is based on Swansea's desire to get through December with Vorm because of the congested schedule but still allow Vorm time to heal and build up more games as we approach World Cup 2014. There is to much risk in using Vorm in your lineups until his return from surgery but once the procedure takes place, Gerhard Tremmel may be a nice budget option during Vorm's recovery.

Michel Vorm missed yesterday's match against Hull City with the reappearance of a long-standing knee injury. Now the player and the club will have to decide if surgery is needed, and if so, when to schedule Vorm's absence.

Gerhard Tremmel was a solid back-up last season, but has not been up to those standards so far this season. The Swans' schedule is also very difficult all the way through to the end of January. With their attackers getting healthy, manager Michael Laudrup is now facing a defensive crisis.

Michel Vorm was a surprise omission from Michael Laudrup's starting XI, but normal backup Gerhard Tremmel's inclusion did not help a depleted Swansea side, as they fell easily to the hands of Manchester City in a 3-0 loss.

There is no announcement from Laudrup about why Vorm was benched, but if it is performance based, then it has been a whirlwind couple of years for the Dutch keeper as he was once looked at by the top clubs as one of the best keepers in the world, consistently putting in fantastic shifts for Swansea as their #1 since they were promoted. The team overall struggled to counter attack without playmaker Michu and goal scorer Wilfried Bony absent. It is a bit of a mess for Swansea right now, with Ben Davies the only recommended option for the midweek clash with Newcastle.

Michel Vorm will be suspended for one game after being sent off for a challenge on Fraizer Campbell in Swansea's loss to Cardiff City.

This means Vorm will miss Swansea's home match with Stoke City this weekend. It is an appealing matchup for Vorm, but do not make the mistake of using him. If you want his replacement as a one-week play, you will be disappointed to find backup Gerhard Tremmel is actually priced more than Vorm.

Michel Vorm wasn't super-human enough to secure Swansea three or even one point at White Hart Lane but he was very good.

The exceptional version of Vorm seemed to be absent last season but he was certainly in evidence against Spurs on Sunday. He made a breath-taking save on Paulinho among a string of nice saves in the first half. Unfortunately, Roberto Soldado stutter-stepped long enough for Vorm to commit himself on Spurs second half penalty and the Spaniard put it easily to the opposite side of Vorm's dive. Swansea haven't started brightly against Manchester United and Spurs but Vorm's performance should give them a great deal of hope once the schedule eases up a bit.

Swansea have beaten West Brom to the signature of 17 year-old Slovenian goalkeeper Gregor Zabret.

Given Zabret's young age this appears to be a case of stocking up for the future rather than presenting any likely threat to the playing time of Michel Vorm or back-up Gerhard Tremmel. Assuming he plays at a level higher than Swansea's youth teams this season, it seems unlikely he'd do anything more than play in an early round League Cup match or two.
