Danny Simpson and Robert Huth are in contention to return from injury for Saturday's FA Cup fourth-round tie against Petersborough.
Leicester City manager Claude Puel, speaking to the media on Thursday, confirmed that Simpson and Huth have made sufficient progress in their recover bids from injury. Simpson has missed the last month with a hamstring injury while Huth is yet to play this season because of an ankle and foot injuries. "Robert can perhaps participate with this game," Puel said. "We will see. I think he will come with the squad. Simpson is available also." The return of Simpson should see him resume his place at right-back having started all 19 matches prior to his injury, while Huth will likely be eased into action as he builds match fitness. Danny Simpson has returned to training following a hamstring injury but remains a doubt for the visit of Watford to the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

The 31-year-old right-back has missed the last six matches in all competitions because of a hamstring injury he suffered during the 2-2 draw with Manchester United in late December. Simpson returned to training for the first time since the injury on Thursday, though manager Claude Puel suggested this weekend's match might come too soon for his return to first team action. Speaking to the media on Thursday, Puel said: "Simpson is playing in little games this morning, I don’t know if he is match fit for this game." Daniel Amartey has started the last four matches in all competitions at right-back and should retain his place if Simpson is ruled out. Elsewhere, Aleksandar Dragovic is in line for another start in place of the injured Wes Morgan.

Claude Puel confirms Danny Simpson has been ruled out for "several weeks" after suffering a hamstring strain.

The Leicester full-back was given a torrid time by winger Anthony Martial [GW19] before injury forced him off just before the hour mark. Simpson is set to miss the upcoming Premier League fixtures against Liverpool and Huddersfield while it remains highly unlikely that he can return before the FA Cup clash at Fleetwood Town on January 06. Alexsandar Dragović was deployed as a makeshift right-back at Watford but Puel will be able to call upon Daniel Amartey for the trip to Anfield this weekend. The 23-year-old was needlessly sent-off for two bookable offences following his introduction from the bench against Manchester United and missed the Vicarage Road defeat due to suspension. Elsewhere, there was better news from the Leicester treatment room after Matty James was named in the matchday squad. The Foxes midfielder has been sidelined since suffering an Achilles injury in September but returned to the 18 as an unused substitute on Boxing Day.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri confirmed that Danny Simpson will be available for selection for Saturday’s match with Burnley.

Simpson is set to make his return after missing their Champions League win on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury, which the fullback suffered in their defeat to Liverpool GW5. "Danny Simpson trained very well and he’s ready to play," Ranieri said speaking about his squad's fitness ahead of their match at the King Power Stadium this weekend.

Danny Simpson limping off with an apparent hamstring injury at Anfield on Saturday only served to compound matters after the Premier League Champions were deservedly thumped 4-1 by Liverpool.

The Leicester defender endured a torrid afternoon as he struggled to get to grips with the game and Daniel Sturridge, particularly during the build-up to the second goal which Sadio Mane confidently clipped in past Kasper Schmeichel. Simpsons’ day ended after only 34 minutes and if tests reveal a muscular tear, then the Foxes full-back can expect at least 2-3 weeks on the sidelines. His absence should see summer signing Luis Hernandez come into the side. The 27-year-old, who arrived from Sporting Gijon last started at Hull on the opening day, but disappointed along with the rest of his teammates as they lost 2-1. A run in the side will help Hernandez to settle while his long throw could provide a new angle of attack.

Danny Simpson was sent off in the 54th minute in Leicester's match against Arsenal today.

Simpson was sent off for a second yellow and after Leicester City were up 1-0 on Arsenal, but with only ten men, the Foxes couldn't hold on to their lead. Arsenal ended up scoring twice late in the game to take all three points. Simpson will miss the next match with a suspension but is not a fantasy option even when he returns.

Leicester's Danny Simpson will miss the last match of the season due to legal trouble.

Simpson was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend at a house in Worsley and could face jail time. He is currently suspended from the club while his legal situation gets cleared up and Leicester City will not make any further comments on the matter at this time. He will be sentenced next month, which will clear up his status for next season.

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson will not appeal his suspension for gameweek 18.

Pearson will serve his ban when Leicester host Tottenham on Boxing Day. He was found guilty for getting into a heated exchange with a fan during his club's 3-1 loss to Liverpool earlier this month. Leicester have been so bad that they can't really get any worse even with Pearson not on the sidelines so there aren't any big fantasy implications from his suspension.

Full-back Danny Simpson has revealed that he was surprised when Harry Redknapp told him Leicester have made a bid and he was welcome to leave the club.

Simpson did say that he was happy to be at Leicester now and that he plans to fight for first-team football but we anticipate that fight to be a tough one for him. Simpson does have Premier League experience with Newcastle United in the past but we don't think that will help him too much after what has been a poor last few years for him. Simpson is likely going to be a backup and shouldn't be used in any fantasy leagues.
