Yaya Toure put a gloss on the scoreline in the dying minutes and it was no less than Manuel Pellegrini's men deserved. Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has admitted Sergio Aguero's injury is a blow for the club, but is confident he can fill the void.

Dzeko has been mainly limited to substitute appearances this season but has generally done well when called upon, scoring nine goals in all competitions already. It will be between the Bosnian forward and Stevan Jovetic to fight for the right to partner the inform Alvaro Negredo during Aguero's absence, which could stretch to 10 Premier League games. With the quality in Manchester City's midfield there will always be chances created for the strikers, so it's worth monitoring both men's form over the next few weeks.

Manchester City are delighted to announce the signing of Stevan Jovetic from Fiorentina.

So 23-year-old Jovetic joins a forward line-up that includes new signing Alvaro Negredo, Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko, in a deal worth £22million. The Montenegrin can play either as an out-an-out striker or as a traditional number 10 behind the main forward and leaves City with the most potent striking options in Europe. But can Pellegrini keep all four men happy with minutes on the pitch? I doubt it, and it could mean Edin Dzeko leaves the club this summer.

Manuel Pellegrini hopes to bring "two or three" more new players to Manchester City - but he wants Edin Dzeko to stay.

The 27-year-old was City's top scorer in the Premier League last season, hitting 14 goals in 32 appearances, but he often found himself benched by Roberto Mancini and reports had suggest he would leave the club this summer. Having let Carlos Tevez join Juventus, it now appears Dzeko is in Pellegrini's plans but he could still struggle for first team football with Sergio Aguero a certain starter, and with Alvaro Negredo, Stevan Jovetic and even Zlatan Ibrahimovic all linked to a move to the Etihad this summer.

The Daily Star are reporting that Jose Mourinho has made Edin Dzeko his main transfer target for Chelsea this summer.

Dzeko has fallen behind Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez in the pecking order at the Etihad and all signs had pointed to a transfer abroad for the Bosnian striker. A move to Chelsea would be a shock but would free up a space in the City squad for one of their targets, Napoli's Edison Cavani, who City consider to be a worthwhile upgrade.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed his club have opened talks with Manchester City over the futures of Edin Dzeko and Edinson Cavani.

Dzeko's career at City has never really taken off and he's been confined to a bench role behind Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero for much of the season. Cavani leads the scoring charts in Italy with 29 goals and would be seen as an upgrade, so City would be expected to add some cash to any potential swap deal.
