Adam Lallana continued his scorching hot form as he equalized Jon Walters' first half tally and then it was off to the races as Liverpool scored three more unanswered for a 4-1 win.
The Christmas season looked to be piling progressively more misery on Jurgen Klopp's men. After Roberto Firmino was pulled over for drunk driving on Christmas Eve the Reds looked decidedly off the pace as their match with the Potters started. Jon Walters scored the opener and Joe Allen nearly made it 2-0 but for a strong save from Simon Mignolet. Lallana converted a deflected Sadio Mane pass for Liverpool's equalizer and the flood gates opened. Firmino put the Reds into the lead a couple of minutes later and Giannelli Imbula (OG) and Daniel Sturridge score in the second half for the final 4-1 tally. Tue, Dec 27, 2016 02:33:00 PM

Adam Lallana reinforced Liverpool's title credentials as the overcame Middlesbrough 3-0 at the Riverside.

The Reds bounced back from last weekend's disappointing draw with West Ham with an emphatic win. Lallana struck first, asserting their dominance over the tie with some slick play. The goal came off the back of a Clyne cross to the back post which Lallana headed home. Origi scored the second with his fifth in five games, finishing off a flowing move with the final ball coming from none other than Adam Lallana again. The third again came from good play which Klopp will be proud of. Origi turned provider to tee up Lallana for his brace from 6 yards out and he side footed home.

Jurgen Klopp has reported that Adam Lallana is back in training as of Thursday and "looked good", offering some optimism on the midfielder returning this weekend.

It is a bit of a mess in the Reds injury department for their attacking players, with some good news, and some bad. The best news of the lot is the possible return of Lallana for the weekend's match against Bournemouth, but Jurgen Klopp has several ways he can approach a strong XI, even without Lallana's inclusion. Roberto Firmino is expected to play, and may form a front three with Sadio Mane and Divock Origi, though Lallana could find a wide role in that trident. Should he revert back to the middle of the park, he will need to oust one of Jordan Henderson, Emre Can or Georginio Wijnaldum. Fantasy managers will hope for the best but may want to consider an alternative option as a Sunday kickoff gives even managers in formats that allow for lineup changes during the gameweek very limited replacement options.

Jurgen Klopp has reported that Adam Lallana will miss additional two or three more games as the impact midfielder recovers from a groin injury.

Tough news for Lallana owners in fantasy as there was hope the England international had a chance of returning this weekend. In reality, despite coming off a rare goalless performance, the Reds are fortunate to have a soft schedule for the next two weeks, as they host Sunderland this weekend and travel to Bournemouth the following week. A possible third game out would be for the EFL Cup so that sets up Lallana for a PL return when the Reds host West Ham in Week 14.

Adam Lallana could miss "two or three games" according to Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp.

The in-form midfielder failed to make the trip to his former stomping ground after picking up a groin injury while representing England. Klopp had refused to rule Lallana out of the game at St Mary’s during Thursdays press-conference as the club were waiting on the results of his scan: "We don't know, it will be close. We have to wait, hopefully the [groin] injury is not too serious." But the 28-year-old was a notable absentee when the squad arrived at Southampton airport late on Friday evening. However, following the goalless draw, Klopp did offer an update: "Adam Lallana is not in because he picked up an injury," he said. "It was serious enough to be not involved today and possibly the next two or three games. We don't know exactly in the moment." Gini Wijnaldum is likely to deputise in the Premier League game against Sunderland and the EFL Cup match at home to Leeds United.

Adam Lallana will not recover from his injured groin while playing against Spain in time to face his former club Southampton in Week 12.

Lallana is set to have a scan on his injured groin some time today, and we should know very soon exactly how much time he is expected to miss, but fantasy managers can go ahead and plan around not having him available against the Saints. In reality, Liverpool's attack shouldn't be too damaged. Georginio Wijnaldum will likely regain a starting role, which he has not had since Week 7, playing in a midfield trio with Jordan Henderson and Emre Can.

Liverpool are sweating on the fitness of their in-form attacking midfielder Adam Lallana after he limped off against Spain on Tuesday evening.

The 28-year-old has been one of Jürgen Klopp’s standout performers so far this term – three goals and five assists – but his availability in game week 12 hangs in the balance after Lallana was replaced on 27 minutes due to an apparent muscular injury. Should Lallana miss out, then Klopp will consider the likes of Daniel Sturridge or Divock Origi to help fill the void. Meanwhile, Liverpool will reportedly fork out around £30k to fly Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho back on a private jet following their involvement for Brazil in Lima, Peru. The flight should land in the UK on Wednesday evening allowing the pair to undertake additional training sessions ahead of the trip to Southampton.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed an injury to midfielder Adam Lallana will keep him from England national team duty.

Lallana was enjoying a nice run of form with three goals and three assists in three Premier League matches before being subbed off in the 20th minute against Swansea with a groin injury. Nathaniel Clyne will also join him in missing England's World Cup qualifiers with a knee injury while Dejan Lovren looks set to miss out for Croatia as well due to an injured groin. Said Klopp: "Hopefully 15 or 16 days should be enough to bring them back on the pitch. Things like this happen - there was no sign of it in the week. The pitch was a little bit wet, of course, so things like this can happen. It's not too nice but nothing else."

Adam Lallana had to leave the match against Swansea City after only 20 minutes due to a groin injury.

Lallana has been in fantastic form, having as much to do with the success of the Reds high-flying attack as anyone, so to see him make his way down the tunnel after 20 minutes is a major blow to the club. He went to ground once before, picked himself to continue on, but collapsed again a few minutes later. Hopefully, that attempt to play on hasn't further damaged the injury. It would seem he will certainly miss out of international duty for England over the break but we will need to wait for an assessment on his groin before determining if how much, if any, more time he may be out.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp announced midfielders Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum are fully fit to face Hull City this weekend.

The German manager revealed the midfield pair was held out of the club's League Cup win to Derby County on Tuesday due to minor knocks and concerns of overworking the midfielders, who have started every Premier League match so far this season: "Adam and Gini were not in the squad [at Derby], but they will be ready – they trained yesterday completely normal...Gini got a knock on his knee, it was swollen but was not a risk, but he was not at 100 per cent for the Derby game. He was not in the squad but trained on the day. The same with Adam Lallana, who felt the intensity of the last games a little bit, so there was no reason to try anything with him."

Adam Lallana scored his second goal of the season against Leicester in Week 4 and his fine start might have earned him a contract extension.

Jurgen Klopp is blessed with a plethora of attacking options and some big names are warming the bench on a weekly basis, but Lallana looks primed to have his finest season with the Reds, displaying the kind of influence and production that he came to be known for in his days with Southampton. He has earned appeal for FPL investment as a budget path into Liverpool's attack and, considering the points look to be spread around between the likes of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane, spending less on Lallana is making more sense by the day. A contract extension would only make his grip on a starting role all the more stronger and he is thriving in his position playing behind the front three.

Liverpool have their league match with Everton postponed this weekend as they play Manchester City in the Capital One Cup final, but they have good news ahead of Week 28 as Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Joe Allen have all returned to training.

The three Reds were seen training with the main group on Friday and one or two may be fit enough to at least make the bench for the cup final. Lovren seems to have the best chance of featuring as he is making a return from illness. Lallana would be next in line as he is nearly recovered from a calf complaint. Allen would seem the least likely to be ready as he makes a comeback from a hamstring strain. Should any of the trio make the squad for the cup final, then they would be back in contention for the Reds next league match in Week 28 against the Sky Blues.

Adam Lallana will not be in the squad for Liverpool when they play their first leg Europa League tie with FC Augsburg as the midfielder struggles with a calf problem.

The calf issue for Lallana kept him out of the Reds 0-6 drubbing of Aston Villa this past weekend and the Europa match this Thursday will come to soon for a spot in the squad. As far as when Lallana will be fit for league play, it is too soon to predict. Liverpool do not have a match in Week 27 so their next fixture is not until March 2nd, when they host Manchester City. We should have a better understanding of Lallana's status prior to the 2nd leg with Augsburg a week from Thursday.

Jurgen Klopp indicated in Liverpool's press conference ahead of their match against Norwich City tomorrow that Adam Lallana may not be ready for selection as he deals with a muscle injury.

Klopp said that Lallana was able to do some training but not "normal" training, as it appears the midfielder cannot give 100% on the training ground as of Friday. He has not been ruled out, but it is particularly tough for his availability as the Reds play the early Saturday kickoff. That will benefit fantasy managers in draft and salary leagues though as they can find out if Lallana will start before the gameweek begins and make plans for a replacement if he indeed misses out.

Adam Lallana returned to the line-up with a goal but it was only good enough for Liverpool to draw with Bordeaux on the road.

Brendan Rodgers did what Arsenal could not and got at least a draw away from home despite rotating a significant portion of the squad. Rodgers gave starts to youngsters Jordan Rossiter, Jordon Ibe and Divock Origi and brought Pedro Chirivella and Cameron Brannagan in as substitutes. All are 20-years-old or younger and joined regular starter Joe Gomez in an incredibly young group. Getting a result, even a draw, with that much youth in the line-up is a great sign for Liverpool over a stretch where they haven't been playing particularly well at the senior level.
