Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Adam Lallana will be in the squad for Liverpool when they travel to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham this weekend.
Rodgers went on to say that the midfielder was still short of match fitness so you can rule out any chances of him starting. In fact, it is likely Lallana will not feature at all unless in an emergency situation as he is making a quicker-than-expected recovery from his knee injury. Aug 29 - 10:24 AM

Adam Lallana suffered a knee injury in training that is set to keep him sidelined at the start of the 2014/2015 Premier League season.

Lallana has ligament damage after training in Boston as the Reds are in the midst of their preseason tour in the United States. A fantasy stud last season, managers will now need to wait on his return to invest. It is probably best to take a wait-and-see approach regardless as his role in Liverpool's side may very well not be as productive as his days in Southampton. In recent years, midfielders like Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing made the jump to Anfield after a great year with a smaller club and failed miserably.

Serbian international Dusan Tadic has officially signed with Southampton for a reported £10.9m fee to replace the attacking threat in midfield created by Adam Lallana's departure for Liverpool.

New manager Ronald Koeman managed against Tadic for the past four seasons in the Dutch Eredivisie and has now brought Tadic in as his first recruit at Southampton. The difference in the fee gained for Lallana and paid for Tadic means that the Saints have plenty of room to strengthen elsewhere assuming Tadic can produce similarly to Lallana. The attacking midfielder is definitely one to watch heading into the new Premier League season as he'll have every chance to produce for the Saints and his new manager. The one warning here is that there are plenty of examples of high-scoring players from Holland who have failed to translate their success to the Premier League. The hope for Southampton will be that Koeman's familiarity with the player will have helped him pick out a player capable of making the leap.

Southampton and FC Twnete have agreed on a fee for left-winger Dusan Tadic.

Tadic has been rumored to be coming in as Adam Lallana's replacement and the deal seems imminent. Tadic has 28 goals in 66 matches in the Eredivisie and is known as a playmaker. He is a Serbia international and is highly rated at the age of just 25. It seems Southampton are keen on rebuilding their squad after selling Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw, and Rickie Lambert and Tadic is the first signing in the process.

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of midfielder Adam Lallana from Southampton on a long-term contract.

Lallana took the Premier League by storm, scoring nine goals and assisting six with Southampton last season. He was a creative force in the middle, involved in almost everything the Saints did. His good work earned him a spot on England's national team and now a move to Liverpool. The attacking midfielder is only 26-years-old and will be able to play for Liverpool for years to come. The Reds will be battling for the Premier League title once again next season but will also be competing in the Champions League, so expect Lallana to be busy.

Southampton are after Serbian midfielder Dusan Tadic as a potential replacement for Adam Lallana.

Adam Lallana is expected to sign with Liverpool sometime this week and Southampton are already looking at replacements. Tadic is a Serbian midfielder who currently plays for FC Twente. He was the fourth best goalscorer in the Dutch top flight and is known as a do-it-all playmaker. He also had the highest number of assists in the Eredivisie. He is expected to cost around £10m but Southampton might have to battle for him as there have been rumors about more clubs interested in his services.

The Southampton exodus continues this afternoon with Adam Lallana joining Luke Shaw in leaving the Saints with the midfielder set to join Liverpool.

The money isn't ours and Liverpool don't seem inclined to stop spending so whether £25million is an over-pay or not, Liverpool are definitely better and deeper today than they were yesterday. With Champions League football on order next season and the status of Luis Suarez up in the air after his third biting incident, the news of Lallana's signing will be welcome news for Liverpool supporters. What remains to be seen once the team is fully assembled is who will be starting and how often with Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez (maybe), Daniel Sturridge, Rickie Lambert, Philippe Coutinho, Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling, Lallana, Lucas, Joe Allen, and Emre Can all vying for playing time along with returning loanees Fabio Borini and Oussama Assaidi. That's a lot of bodies to accommodate even with extra Champions League matches sprinkled in.

Southampton have appointed Ronald Koeman as their new manager to replace Mauricio Pochettino.

Ronald Koeman will be the new manager and his brother Erwin will be his assistant. Ronald has a great managerial resume that includes Ajax, Benfica, PSV Eindhoven, Valencia and Feyenoord. He is a top manager that will be able to attract young talent to Southampton and continue what Pochettino started. Expect at least a few Dutch players to come into the squad as Koeman will try to bring some of his current Feyenoord players with him. Overall it's a great appointment and Koeman should hit the ground running.

Liverpool have made a new bid for Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana - this time at a value of £25m.

Southampton rejected a £20m bid earlier this month but it seems Liverpool really want the England International. Lallana would be a great replacement for the aging Steven Gerrard and would give Liverpool some of the depth they need to balance the Premier League and Champions League next year. A few years playing alongside Gerrard will also be great for the young midfielder. It sounds like the Reds are committed to improving their team this summer after falling short on winning the title last season. Southampton will probably try to extend the process until after the World Cup in hopes that Lallana further drives his value up with a great performance in Brazil. Tottenham are also interested in the midfielder so we can expect his price to be driven up by demand as well.

Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana is now being linked with a move to Tottenham where he can be reunited with manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Lallana has been linked with multiple Premier League clubs in recent weeks, most notably Liverpool, but the midfielder is focusing on the World Cup instead of his club future. Southampton are in danger of losing a series of important players but the club have reassured fans that funds will be available to rebuild the club next season. A new manager will be the most important step in that plan and Saints fans are hoping for an experienced manager to be appointed.

Surprise package Southampton is sending three representatives to Brazil for the World Cup in the form of Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Luke Shaw.

It remains to be seen how many of these players are still Saints players by the time the World Cup kicks off (and certainly by the time we rejoin the Premier League on August 17th) but for now it is impressive to see three players from a mid-table club representing England in a World Cup. It is even more impressive when you take into account that Jay Rodriguez would have at least been close to a spot on the plane if he hadn't been injured.

Liverpool have made a bid for Southampton captain Adam Lallana according to the BBC.

Lallana has had a terrific season at Southampton, scoring 10 goals in 42 appearances and working his way in to Roy Hodgson's England squad in the process. The versatile midfielder is happy on the South Coast having come through the club's academy, but recently suggested he was interested in Champions League football, something Liverpool are able to offer after their own successful season as Premier League runners-up. The BBC rarely run with stories they aren't 100% positive about, so we can feel confident that a bid has been lodged. Whether it is enough to prise Lallana away remains to be seen.

Sky Sports is reporting that Liverpool will try to sign Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana before this summer's World Cup.

Lallana was one of the most improved players this year and is widely considered one of the biggest names on the transfer market this summer. Southampton have stated over and over again that they won't be selling any of their stars but Liverpool could potentially offer an irresistible amount of money. Lallana is likely to be in England's World Cup squad and a move to Liverpool can help him avoid uncertainty during the World Cup. Continue to follow the story as more suitors are certainly going to pop up soon.

Adam Lallana played a poor match in Southampton's second to last match of the season, hurting his World Cup chances.

The decision for England's World Cup squad is nearing and players needs to be in top form to be selected. Lallana's form has dropped off since the beginning of the season but we believe he's done enough this year to get selected regardless of his current slump. Lallana has what it takes to create chances when no one else can and he could be a fantastic player off the bench for England. Playing in the World Cup should provide him with some great experience heading into next season, when he'll be one of the hottest names in fantasy leagues. We believe his form is poor due to the fact Southampton have nothing to play for and have looked slow and uninspired in recent weeks.

Southampton took a tough defeat at the hands of Tottenham, squandering a two goal advantage on the road in a 3-2 final.

It was a magical opening half hour for the Saints as they took advantage of errors and cracks in the Spurs defense. The opening goal came when Artur Boruc sent a deep goal kick toward midfield. The ball bounced precariously past Kyle Naughton and into the path of a sprinting Jay Rodiguez who finished nicely and has now scored in three straight. Then, in the 28th minute, Ricky Lambert would hook up with Lallana, and the midfielder would continue his fine season, scoring his 8th league goal of the campaign. It would all fall apart there though, as Spurs slowly began to control possession and would break through three successive times. Rodriguez and Lallana especially continue to be dependable sources of points in fantasy.
