Southampton took a tough defeat at the hands of Tottenham, squandering a two goal advantage on the road in a 3-2 final.
It was a magical opening half hour for the Saints as they took advantage of errors and cracks in the Spurs defense. The opening goal came when Artur Boruc sent a deep goal kick toward midfield. The ball bounced precariously past Kyle Naughton and into the path of a sprinting Jay Rodiguez who finished nicely and has now scored in three straight. Then, in the 28th minute, Ricky Lambert would hook up with Lallana, and the midfielder would continue his fine season, scoring his 8th league goal of the campaign. It would all fall apart there though, as Spurs slowly began to control possession and would break through three successive times. Rodriguez and Lallana especially continue to be dependable sources of points in fantasy. Mar 23 - 11:53 AM

Adam Lallana's cross found Daniel Sturridge for a late goal in England's 1-0 friendly win over Denmark.

Lallana was spectacular in the second half and he set up Sturridge beautifully. The finish by the striker shouldn't be underestimated either. They are two of the best players in the Premier League this season and it was only fitting that they combined for the game winning goal. This performance by Lallana should be enough to guarantee the midfielder a spot in England's World Cup squad as he is one of the nation's top three midfielders.

Adam Lallana missed training with the England international squad on Monday as he was deemed not fit to train.

Lallana played the full match against Liverpool on Saturday and this could just be a precautionary move. The Saints midfielder has played all 28 Southampton games this season and there is a good chance he simply needs a rest. We expect him to play on Saturday, but check back on Friday before you include Lallana in your fantasy team for week 29. Others who missed training were Kyle Walker, Andros Townsend, Steven Caulker, and John Ruddy. We aren't too concerned with any of their injuries but it is worth checking back for an update later this week.

Arsenal had pulled ahead 2-1 when Adam Lallana came up with a well-worked goal from Jay Rodriguez's pass for the final 2-2 score.

Southampton have fallen on hard times after a spectacular run of form early in the season. For 80 of the 90 minutes against Arsenal on Tuesday the Saints recaptured their best form and were clearly the best team of the two. As has been their habit recently, Arsenal scored two goals in short order but this time they couldn't hold off their opponents as Lallana scored to equalize. Mesut Ozil hit the post and the Saints forced Szczesny into a couple strong saves but the 2-2 score held up.

Adam Lallana's strike in the 66th minute was enough for Southampton as they held on to the 1-0 lead until the end.

Substitute Gaston Ramirez found Adam Lallana behind the West Brom backline and the Saints' star fired through Ben Foster's legs to give his team a 1-0 lead. The Saints played well defensively and the return of Artur Boruc helped them keep a clean sheet. Boruc, along with their defense, are once again good fantasy options.

With the January transfer window approaching, Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino is under no need to sell M Adam Lallana or anyone else.

There was speculation in the Boxing Day papers that claimed Manchester United coach David Moyes was considering a £15 million January bid for Lallana, but the Southampton boss puts those rumors to rest shortly after the teams' win at Cardiff. "I think Adam and other players are going to stay with us. There is no pressure to sell them, Adam has said he is happy at Southampton and Southampton have no plans to sell him." Lallana has made over 240 appearances for Southampton after coming through the ranks. He is third on the team in goals scored this season with four.

Adam Lallana and Ricky Lambert grabbed a goal each but Southampton left empty-handed after a 3-2 home defeat by Tottenham.

Lallana's goal put Southampton ahead early on but they looked shaky in defence throughout the game. Jos Hooiveld (in for Jose Fonte) in particular looked dodgy, scoring a poor own-goal and despite Lambert's second half strike it was Tottenham who took the points with Emmanuel Adebayor influential for the visitors. The Saints have now failed to win any of their last six Premier League matches, including four defeats, and have dropped down to ninth in the table.

Adam Lallana played well in both England friendlies this past week and has earned Roy Hodgson's praises.

Lallana hopes to be chosen for England's World Cup squad next summer and the two games only helped his case. He will have a good chance of making the squad if he continues his impressive form for Southampton. Saints teammate Jay Rodriguez only played against Chile but failed to to make an impact and was left on the bench for the game against Germany. Rickie Lambert only came on as a substitute against Germany after missing the Chile game with an injury.

Fraser Forster, Adam Lallana, and Jay Rodriguez have been given the start in England's friendly against Chile.

This is all three's senior squad debuts and they will try to impress enough to earn a spot on England's World Cup squad next summer. Forster replaced Joe Hart, who recently lost his job at Manchester City, while Lallana and Rodriguez started in midfield and on the left wing respectively. England's starting XI for the match: Forster; Johnson, Baines, Cahill, Jones; Milner, Wilshere, Lampard, Lallana; Rooney, Rodriguez.

Liverpool are linked to a move for Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana.

Adam Lallana has been one of the catalysts for Southampton's flying start to the season and the big clubs are starting to inquire about him but a move is unlikely. Southampton have repeatedly stated that they are looking for a top four Premier League finish and selling him doesn't make much sense. Lallana has recently been called up to the English squad and hopes to make it to the World Cup next summer, and that'll be his best chance to play alongside Steven Gerrard and Daniel Sturridge.

Adam Lallana has praised Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino and has credited him with the team's success.

Lallana has been a major part of the Saints success this season but he gives much of the credit to the Saints' boss. Pochettino has done a tremendous job with the Saints, both tactically and in the transfer market, and has taken them to fourth place in the Premier League. Expect more of the same from Lallana and the Saints.

Southampton kept a fourth consecutive clean sheet and won a hard fought game against Swansea.

The Saints won 2-0 with goals from Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez. The most important man for the Saints was Artur Boruc, who has been playing fantastic this year and continued his good form with a couple of top-class saves today. The Saints are now in fourth place and seem like serious contenders for a top four spot this year.
