Charlie Adam has signed and extension at Stoke City that will see him stay at the Britannia through 2017 with and option to extend a further year.
Believe it or not, Charlie Adam is only 29-years-old. Despite looking well into his 30s and running like he's in his 40s, the player was effective for the Potters when he played last season. With Bojan returning from injury, Adam could well begin the season as a starter before reverting to a reserve role if/when Bojan is ready to go. Jun 20 - 11:35 AM

Stoke City were kept off the scoreboard and Charlie Adam was largely quiet with peripheral statistics as his fantasy production fell off significantly from the previous week.

Charlie Adam has enjoyed a revival in recent weeks due in large part to increased opportunity caused by injuries within the Stoke City squad. With Bojan and Victor Moses out, Mark Hughes has struggled to find the right combination of attacking players to keep the Potters on the score sheet. One of the beneficiaries had been Adam who went without a goal from mid-October to early April but has now scored four of his six total league goals over the past seven matches including six starts. He is a good bet to start the finale given his production and the lack of alternatives.

Stoke City fired on all cylinders, scoring three times and keeping Tottenham out in a 3-0 win.

The Potters were brilliant today, with Charlie Adam keeping up his fine form, He headed in a Mame Biram Diouf cross that touched off a Spur defender on the way to open the scoring. Steven N'Zonzi scored next after an Adam cross toward the box resulted in a collision between Hugo Lloris and Eric Dier. Diouf would then cap off the scoring by tapping in a cross from Marko Arnautovic at the near post. Jack Butland, the future at keeper for the Potters, did not make a mistake and earned a clean sheet.

Charlie Adam will play with a mask in Week 35 to protect a broken nose he picked up in training during the week.

Adam has been hot for about a month. The hope given Adam's injury isn't so much that he will play, it seems highly likely that he will. The hope is that having to wear a mask won't distract him from continuing to produce strong fantasy outings.

Charlie Adam put together his best match yet this season with 23 points in the Yahoo system in Stoke City's Week 34 draw with Sunderland.

Adam reached his gaudy total with a goal, three shots on target, four successful crosses, two corners won, and a pass intercepted. The big week brought his four week total to 49 points in the Yahoo system, nearly a third of his season total of 163. Adam has been playing well enough that it is hard to imagine Mark Hughes not starting him. If he is av available/affordable in your format then you should definitely be taking a careful look even with Swansea the next opponent coming up.

Charlie Adam scored another great goal to equalize an early Sunderland goal and seal the final score between Stoke City and Sunderland at 1-1.

In a match that saw an Asmir Begovic error gift Connor Wickham a first minute goal, Charlie Adam led the charge as Stoke City equalized and eventually drew the match. The early error not withstanding, the Potters were the better team for nearly the entire match dominating possession and shots on target on their home turf. Despite some strong opportunities they couldn't find a winner and had to settle for a 1-1 draw with the Black Cats. Adam's goal was his third in four matches in the month of April.

Charlie Adam ended Southampton's hopes for Champions League football with his match-winner in the 84th minute.

The halftime substitute came on for an ineffective Stephen Ireland and made an immediate impact as Stoke City looked a much better side. Within two minutes of the break Mame Biram Diouf equalized Morgan Schneiderlin's 22nd minute opener. The Saints had the better of the match on paper as far as possession, shots, and shots on target but it was Adam's 84th minute goal that decided the tie and sentenced Ronald Koeman's squad to a battle for a Europa League spot that they may or may not actually want.

Charlie Adam started the season slowly but has come on over the past two weeks to score well for Stoke City and fantasy managers alike.

The former Liverpool man seemed to pop up everywhere for Stoke City as the Potters broke out of the doldrums with a 2-1 win over Swansea City at home. Adam, always a decent option since he takes kicks and penalties, cashed in on a penalty against Lukasz Fabianski and added another shot on target, two corners won, three interceptions and two tackles won for an impressive fantasy day. For all of that he actually finished one point below his Week 7 output. Could be that he's found his niche at Stoke and is in line for a string of strong performances.

Charlie Adam scored a late goal to give Stoke City a 2-1 away win against West Brom.

Ryan Shawcross impressed in what was an overall poor match and fans were chanting for him to be sent to Brazil as part of England's World Cup squad. Adam's game winning goal was enough to bring Stoke to 10th place in the Premier League table, a position which will surely be considered a success this season. Despite the loss, West Brom managed to stay in the Premier League after a dreadful season. They will need to improve drastically next season if they want to remain in the Premier League again.

Charlie Adam broke his nose in training earlier this week, and if he's available to, ahem... face Newcastle, it will be with a protective mask.

Adam has lost his starting place in the Stoke side as Mark Hughes has gone with a trio of Steven Nzonzi, Glenn Whelan, and Wilson Palacios. It's hard to imagine him messing with that formula this weekend, especially after this incident.

Charlie Adam is available to Stoke City this weekend, but may have to be content with a place on the bench if Mark Hughes names an unchanged side from their 4-1 win against Aston Villa.

Adam and Stephen Ireland give manager Mark Hughes options, but it's hard to change a winning team and Stoke might name the same XI against Hull City.

Charlie Adam, who was charged with violent conduct for a stamp on Arsenal's Olivier Giroud, had his appeal rejected by the FA and will miss Stoke's next three matches.

Adam will miss winnable matches against Norwich City, West Ham, and Aston Villa.

Stoke City midfielder, Charlie Adam, has been charged with violent conduct for a (alleged) stamp on Arsenal's Olivier Giroud. Stoke "will appeal vigorously against the decision".

Stoke City have a good run of matches upcoming, but would miss Adam's drive from midfield. His ability to pass, and shoot, from long-range was key to Stoke's plan. If he is suspended, that will put someone else - Glenn Whelan? - on set piece duty as well, which will interest fantasy managers.

Charlie Adam assisted both of Stoke City's goals as the Potters were able to grab a point on Southampton's pitch in an entertaining 2-2 final.

Adam made quite a splash in his season with Blackpool when they made the top flight a few years back, and has not been able to find that magic with any consistency in his days at Anfield and now with Stoke, but he does occasionally put it together like he did today. His first assist came on a well weighted through ball to Peter Odemwingie, who finished for his first goal with his new club. He then delivered a perfect corner to Peter Crouch, who broke through the cluster of defenders to head home. Stoke are a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde club these days, making investment a bit sketchy. In their past five games now they have scored two or more three times, and were blanked the other two. They have Swansea at home next.

Stoke City earned their first ever Premier League victory over Manchester United on the back of two Charlie Adam goals as the Potters played to a 2-1 final.

Scoring his 6th and 7th goals of the season, the first came from a free kick that took a massive deflection off the leg of Michael Carrick, but was considered on target enough to give Adam credit for. The second goal came after United had evened the score, when a mishit by Marko Arnautovic landed kindly in front of Adam who smashed a thunderbolt into the top shelf from distance. Stoke will celebrate both their first win over United in the league but also enjoy the end of a three game losing streak. Adam and the Potters will travel to Southampton next.
