Norwich City was dealt yet another season-ending injury blow following an injury to midfielder Jonny Howson on Saturday.
The versatile midfielder played in all 36 of the club's league matches, starting in 33, before suffering a knee injury against Manchester United over the weekend. Norwich City manager Alex Neil confirmed that he is set for an extended spell out: "Jonny has had a scan and he's got a grade two ligament strain which means he will be out for six to eight weeks. It's really disappointing for us and for him, because his performance levels over the course of the season have been consistently high." Without Howson, Graham Dorrans will likely start in central midfield while Neil could go more attacking with both Steven Naismith and Wes Hoolahan in the lineup. May 11 - 1:27 AM

Jonny Howson is the latest injury concern for Norwich. The Canaries midfielder could miss the clubs’ two remaining Premier League games after suffering a suspected knee ligament injury.

Howson came off second best in a full blooded challenge with Michael Carrick as Norwich were pushing for an equaliser late in the game. The 27-year-old will undergo further tests although initial reports suggest he will join Timm Klose, Andre Wisdom and Alex Tettey in the treatment room for the remainder of the season. Following another defeat, it could prove to be Howson’s last appearance in the Premier League – certainly at Carrow Road - if Norwich fail to win against Watford on Wednesday. Post-match Alex Neil was bemoaning his sides’ bad injury luck: "Obviously when you are one of the smaller teams then missing key players is going to hurt, it makes it doubly difficult, but Timm has missed five games. Alex is the longer term one."

It wasn't pretty, but Norwich City ended a four game losing streak with a scrappy 1-0 win over Swansea City, thanks to a goal from Jonny Howson.

Swansea City had a 2-to-1 possession advantage on the day, but the Canaries stacked the defense up in their own end, giving the Swans little threat as John Ruddy kept a clean sheet without registering a save. The goal would come in the 70th minute, when Robbie Brady sent a corner into Dieumerci Mbokani who headed it into the path of Howson. It was a wide open target for the midfielder, as Lukasz Fabianski was off his line to try and deal with Mbokani. It was Howson's first goal of the season and a big three points for Norwich.

Norwich midfielder Jonny Howson will miss another match with a back issue.

Howson has been injured since signing his new deal with the club. Leroy Fer, who almost signed for Everton, will be back to face them as Norwich travel to Goodison Park.

Central midfielder Jonny Howson has signed a new four-and-a-half year deal with Norwich City.

The 25-year old former Leeds United midfielder has made 54 appearances for the Canaries since his initial signing in 2012. He has seven shots on target, 11 chances created and two goals through 16 games so far in 2013. Norwich have scored a meager 15 goals this season (nine at home, six on the road) so the team will need to be more consistent for Howson to have much of an impact. Hopefully the new contract gives him more confidence going forward. With fixtures against Sunderland and Fulham coming up, this Canary could be a sleeper option worth looking into.

Jonny Howson scored the loan goal of the match to give Norwich City a rare away win in the Premier League in Week 6.

Former Leeds United man Jonny Howson scored his first goal of the season for embattled manager Chris Houghton's men. The shot from distance by Howson wasn't particularly impressive and Asmir Begovic will probably feel that he should have saved it. Given that Howson has only been a part time starter for Norwich this season, it isn't worth reading too much into this goal. Howson still isn't a worthwhile name for fantasy purposes.
