It wasn't pretty, but Norwich City ended a four game losing streak with a scrappy 1-0 win over Swansea City, thanks to a goal from Jonny Howson.
Swansea City had a 2-to-1 possession advantage on the day, but the Canaries stacked the defense up in their own end, giving the Swans little threat as John Ruddy kept a clean sheet without registering a save. The goal would come in the 70th minute, when Robbie Brady sent a corner into Dieumerci Mbokani who headed it into the path of Howson. It was a wide open target for the midfielder, as Lukasz Fabianski was off his line to try and deal with Mbokani. It was Howson's first goal of the season and a big three points for Norwich. Central midfielder Jonny Howson has signed a new four-and-a-half year deal with Norwich City.

The 25-year old former Leeds United midfielder has made 54 appearances for the Canaries since his initial signing in 2012. He has seven shots on target, 11 chances created and two goals through 16 games so far in 2013. Norwich have scored a meager 15 goals this season (nine at home, six on the road) so the team will need to be more consistent for Howson to have much of an impact. Hopefully the new contract gives him more confidence going forward. With fixtures against Sunderland and Fulham coming up, this Canary could be a sleeper option worth looking into.

Jonny Howson scored the loan goal of the match to give Norwich City a rare away win in the Premier League in Week 6.

Former Leeds United man Jonny Howson scored his first goal of the season for embattled manager Chris Houghton's men. The shot from distance by Howson wasn't particularly impressive and Asmir Begovic will probably feel that he should have saved it. Given that Howson has only been a part time starter for Norwich this season, it isn't worth reading too much into this goal. Howson still isn't a worthwhile name for fantasy purposes.
